Tower of Hell Events History: All TOH Events, Rewards & Secret Sections (2019–2026)
Tower of Hell events history is one of the most searched topics in the TOH community — and for good reason. Every event brought something new: limited effects, hidden secret sections, rare badges, and cosmetics that are now completely unobtainable. Whether you are a long-time player looking back at what you missed, or a newer player trying to understand the game’s past, this is the most complete guide to every Tower of Hell event from 2019 all the way to 2026.
Before diving in, it helps to understand how secret sections work in general. They are rare, hidden sections that follow a completely different format from regular vanilla sections. You can learn more in our full Tower of Hell secret sections guide.
How Tower of Hell Events Work
Tower of Hell events are seasonal celebrations tied to holidays or special Roblox-wide events. Each event typically adds one or more of the following to the game:
- Secret sections — special hidden sections that only appear during the event and are removed afterward.
- Effects and trails — cosmetic rewards like halos, trails, hat effects, and radiances that players can collect by touching objects in secret sections or coin boxes.
- Gear skins — cosmetic reskins for in-game tools like the Gravity Coil, Speed Coil, or Trowel.
- Badges — limited-time badges that can only be earned during the event period.
- Lobby decorations — visual changes like falling snow, a snowman near the ladder, or a changed YXCeptional Studios logo.
Once an event ends, all event-specific secret sections are removed from public rotation and the rewards become unobtainable. This is why events are such a big deal in the TOH community. Miss them and they are gone forever.

2019 Events
Secret Sections Added — October 11, 2019
While not technically a named event, the October 11, 2019 update is one of the most important dates in Tower of Hell history. This is when secret sections were first introduced to the game. These unique sections — which do not follow the standard vanilla section format and usually appear in grayscale — were a brand new concept for TOH.
Shortly after their introduction, visiting all secret sections in the game would award players the Tourist Badge and an Orange Halo. These were among the first ever event-style rewards in the game. However, both rewards were removed on May 15, 2020, because the developers felt they were encouraging players to server-hop and ignore the main game. Players who had already earned the Tourist Badge kept it in their inventory, but the Orange Halo was not retained.
Christmas Event 2019
Tower of Hell held its first Christmas event in 2019, bringing festive decorations and a Christmas-themed atmosphere to the game. Snow particles fell through the tower, and seasonal changes were made to the lobby. This was an early, lighter event compared to later years — the full secret sections and gift-reward system that fans are familiar with had not yet been developed into the polished format used in later events.
The Christmas 2019 event laid the foundation for what would become one of the most anticipated annual events in Tower of Hell’s calendar.
2020 Events
Tourist Badge and Orange Halo Removed — May 15, 2020
As mentioned above, the Orange Halo and Tourist Badge reward system, which had been tied to visiting all secret sections, was permanently removed on May 15, 2020. This was not an event itself, but it directly shaped how future events and secret section rewards would be designed going forward — with rewards being tied to touching objects inside specific sections rather than visiting all of them.
To understand the full role of halos in Tower of Hell — including how the Orange Halo fits into the broader history — see our Tower of Hell halos guide.
Pride Month 2020
Tower of Hell celebrated Pride Month 2020 with its first Pride event. The main reward was the Pride Trail, which was obtainable from coin boxes during the event. This was a simpler event compared to later Pride months, but it established the annual tradition of celebrating Pride in Tower of Hell. The Pride Trail from this event later became a permanent purple-rarity coin box effect after the event ended.
Christmas Event 2020
The Christmas 2020 event was a step up from the previous year. The festive decorations returned, including falling snow particles in the tower. This event continued the tradition of making the game feel festive and seasonal, and it helped build community anticipation for the event format that would fully flower in 2021.
2021 Events
Pride Month 2021
Pride Month 2021 was a significant upgrade from the 2020 event. Tower of Hell added three new secret sections during this event:
- Pride — Featured three rotating pride flag banners. Touching the section rewarded players with a random pride trail. This section had an unusually high spawn weight, making it roughly as common as a regular vanilla section.
- Pride Picker — Allowed players to use buttons to scroll through available pride trails and select the one they wanted.
- Pride TV — A creative section containing a TV with an Easter egg on its back: the text “BlackyBountyBrowny™”, a tribute to developer DerHausaufgabe’s three pet rats.
The YXCeptional Studios logo was also temporarily changed to resemble a pride flag and a trans flag. A total of 16 pride trails were introduced during this event, including the returning Pride Trail from 2020. All trails represented different LGBTQ+ pride flags and could be collected through the secret sections.
Christmas Event 2021
The Christmas 2021 event was the biggest and most polished Christmas event up to that point. Three brand new secret sections were added on December 1, 2021:
- Christmas Tree — Touching the Christmas Tree section gave players the Santa Paws Hat effect.
- Snow Castle — Touching the Snow Castle section gave players the Tiny Snowman effect.
- Workshop — Touching the Workshop section gave players the Christmas Radiance effect.
Each section also spawned a random present effect from a larger list of presents. Players could collect these effects by touching the present in the section. The lobby also received the now-classic Christmas additions: falling snow particles, a snowman near the starting ladder, and a small model of the YXCeptional mascot Pyx.
These three sections became the blueprint for all future Christmas events. The event also marked the moment that many players consider the “golden era” of Tower of Hell events.
2022 Events
April Fools 2022
On April Fools’ Day 2022, the developers added the Fluffy mutator to the shop for 50 coins. This mutator transformed your avatar into a random version of the YXCeptional mascot Pyx. The next day, the price was raised to 200 coins, and it was removed entirely on April 4, 2022. A small, fun event — but very on-brand for the game’s humor.
Pride Month 2022
Pride Month 2022 expanded the event significantly. Tower of Hell released a total of 41 new pride effects for players to collect. Two new secret sections were added on June 1, 2022:
- Prideful Heart — Contained windows, moving platforms, three rotating pride flags, and a heart in the middle. Touching the heart gave a random pride flag-themed effect.
- Prideful Paw — Same layout as Prideful Heart but with a paw shape instead. Also gave a random pride effect on touch.
On June 9, 2022, three more pride representations were added: hearts, paws, and trails for Abrosexual, Bigender, and Pangender flags. The name of one of the 2021 event trails was also updated — the “Gay Male Trail” was renamed to the Vincian Trail.
RB Battles Championship (Season 3) — December 2022
Tower of Hell participated in the third Roblox Battles Championship event, known as RB Battles. This was a major cross-game Roblox event. Two new badges were added to Tower of Hell on December 5, 2022:
- “???” badge — Obtainable during the event.
- “RB Battles Championship” badge — Obtainable by completing the special Tower of Hell RB game mode.
A dedicated game mode called Tower of Hell RB was released to the public on December 14, 2022. Creator PinkLeaf competed against Jackeryz in the first round of RB Battles within the Tower of Hell RB server. PinkLeaf won, earning 30,000 Robux and advancing in the competition. The RB tower featured horizontal sections — the first time this format appeared in Tower of Hell — and guaranteed secret sections in every round. As of March 9, 2023, both badges were disabled, and the Tower of Hell RB portal was removed on March 3, 2023.
The Christmas 2022 event ran alongside RB Battles in December, adding the returning snowman and snow particles to the lobby, as well as the mini Pyx model near the starting ladder.
2023 Events
Pride Month 2023
Tower of Hell celebrated Pride Month again in June 2023, continuing the tradition of adding pride-themed effects and keeping existing pride secret sections in rotation during the month.
Christmas Event 2023
The Christmas 2023 event returned with the beloved lobby decorations — snow particles, the snowman, and the pink hat the snowman gives when touched. The Christmas secret sections were once again active during the event period. The event maintained the same general format as 2022 and 2021, with festive additions to the lobby environment.
For context on how gears fit into these events, including the coil skins that have appeared as rewards, see our Tower of Hell gears guide.
2024 Events
THE Tower of Hell Returns — December 13, 2024
December 13, 2024 marked the return of THE Tower of Hell as a built-in game mode. This required players to complete all 330 vanilla sections in one run. The Red Halo returned as the reward for beating it, along with a new “Certified Beast” badge. This was not a traditional event in the seasonal sense, but it was one of the biggest additions to the game in years and functioned similarly to a major event in terms of community excitement.
Christmas Event 2024
The Christmas 2024 event ran through late December 2024, following the established formula of lobby decorations, snow particles, and the returning snowman with the pink hat. The three Christmas secret sections were once again active for players to find and collect effects from.
2025 Events
The Takeover 2025 — September 12, 2025
The Takeover was a major Roblox-wide event, and Tower of Hell was one of the featured games. This was the biggest non-Christmas event in Tower of Hell’s history. It added several notable things to the game on September 12, 2025:
- New game mode: “The Takeover of Hell” — A dedicated event mode with its own challenges and structure. It was the second Tower of Hell event mode after Tower of Hell RB.
- Spray can gears — New gear items tied to the event.
- Three new badges — Obtainable by completing the event game mode and challenges.
The game’s main icon was updated to reflect the event. Tower of Hell’s participation in The Takeover 2025 was a strong signal of the game’s continued relevance in the wider Roblox platform ecosystem.

Christmas Event 2025
The Christmas 2025 event was one of the most content-rich Christmas events Tower of Hell has ever had. Three brand new secret sections were added on December 13, 2025. One of them, Xmas, was created by developer Kitten_Bites and featured a detailed Christmas tree scene with ornaments, a golden star, and a ring of presents on a platform. Touching the gift pedestal in Xmas gave a gift resembling a Fire Extinguisher.
The three new Christmas 2025 sections gave the following rewards:
- New Christmas-themed gear skins for the Gravity Coil, Speed Coil, and Fusion Coil.
- A skin for the Trowel.
- A skin for the Hook.
On December 25, 2025, players were able to unwrap gift objects that had been placed in the event sections. Despite resembling traditional presents in shape, the gifts revealed the gear skins listed above — surprising many players who expected standard effect rewards. The spawn weight of the event stages was also buffed by four times (raised to a weight of 4000) to make them easier to find during the event.
The event ended on January 5, 2026, at which point all three Christmas 2025 secret sections were removed from public rotation and the gear skins became unobtainable.

Tower of Hell Event Rewards: What Is Still Obtainable?
Most event rewards are permanently unobtainable once their event ends. However, a handful of event-origin rewards have since been added to the regular game:
- Pride Trail — Originally from Pride Month 2020. Now available as a purple-rarity coin box reward permanently.
- Trans Trail — Also now available as a permanent coin box reward.
- Pride effects (38+ flags) — Many of the pride effects added across the 2021 and 2022 events remain obtainable through the Pride secret sections, which stay active year-round (not just during Pride Month).
Everything else — including the Christmas effects, gear skins from Christmas 2025, the RB Battles badges, the Takeover badges, and the event-exclusive trails — is no longer obtainable if you missed the event window.
