A New Home All Challenges in 007 First Light is something many players want to finish in one clean run. This is Chapter 5 of the game, set in Malta, where Bond and fellow recruits move into a new apartment and push through two major training exercises. The chapter introduces the compound, the flag-steal mechanic, and the lie detector test — all of which feed into the challenge list. This guide covers every challenge in A New Home and exactly how to complete each one.

A New Home Overview in 007 First Light

007 First Light Chapter 5: A New Home begins immediately after The Heart of the Matter. Bond, Cressida, and Monroe move into a Malta apartment together while they shuttle back and forth between Malta and London to cement their spots in the 00 programme. The chapter is built around training sessions and two flag-steal objectives — first in the “In at the Deep End” section, then again in “Search the Compound.”

The chapter also includes a lie detector sequence and Monroe’s memory game in the apartment. Both of these feed into their own dedicated challenges. The entire structure gives you multiple ways to approach the same objectives, which is exactly why so many challenges can be stacked in a single run if you know what to aim for.

Total challenges: 11 (10 unique + 1 Completionist)
Completionist reward: Malta Training Outfit

All A New Home Challenges List in 007 First Light

Here is every challenge in A New Home and what you need to do to complete it:

  • Pacifist: A New Home — Complete “Something to Prove” and “White Flag.” Capture the flag in both sections without defeating a single enemy.
  • Ghost: A New Home — Complete “Cressida’s Way” and “Always Do the Unexpected.” Capture the flag in both sections without being spotted by anyone.
  • Assault: A New Home — Complete “Monroe’s Way” and “Party Crasher.” Defeat all enemies in both sections before grabbing the flag.
  • Mr Mnemonic — Get the correct answer in Monroe’s memory game in the apartment.
  • Something to Prove — Complete In at the Deep End without knocking down any soldiers.
  • Cressida’s Way — Complete a full stealth run through In at the Deep End without being spotted.
  • Monroe’s Way — Take down every enemy in In at the Deep End before grabbing the flag.
  • Spinning a Yarn — Only lie to Greenway during the polygraph test.
  • White Flag — Reach the flag in the compound without taking down any soldiers.
  • Always Do the Unexpected — Reach the flag in the compound without alerting anyone.
  • Party Crasher — Take down all 30 enemies in the compound before reaching the flag.

How to Complete Something to Prove and Cressida’s Way in 007 First Light

These two challenges both take place in the “In at the Deep End” section. You need to reach the flag at the top of the level. Something to Prove means doing it without knocking out anyone. Cressida’s Way means doing it without being spotted at all. You can complete both in the same run since the stealth path avoids all enemies naturally.

Here is the route to follow:

  • Drop down from spawn immediately and head into the building on the left.
  • Wait for the guard to leave, then continue forward, following the same guard to the next room.
  • Stand behind the wooden boards until the guard goes upstairs and the second guard stands near the stairs.
  • Move left behind cover and use the Q-Watch to hack a nearby target. This distracts the guard so you can head upstairs cleanly.
  • Head left of the patrolling guard and enter the tall grass. Wait for the guard to move before advancing.
  • Vault up to the next set of stairs and move behind the box for cover.
  • Sneak past the next guard and move through the tall grass. Follow the grass until you reach the armored guard.
  • There is a speaker to the right of the armored guard. Hack it to distract him, then head upstairs.
  • One more guard is near the top. Avoid him and climb the ladder to reach the flag.

If you trigger either challenge but not both, there are still enemies or detections in your run. Check the Q-Lens view to confirm you have not missed anyone.

How to Complete Monroe’s Way in 007 First Light

Monroe’s Way requires you to take down every enemy in the In at the Deep End section before picking up the flag. There are 25 soldiers in this section. You do not have to be quiet — go in loud, alert everyone, and work through them all.

Use the Q-Lens (L1 on PlayStation / LB on Xbox) to highlight enemies through walls. This helps you track who is left before grabbing the flag. Be aware that alerting enemies can trigger reinforcements, which means more soldiers appear. The challenge completes when every enemy is down, before you actually pick up the flag. If the challenge does not pop, at least one enemy is still standing somewhere in the area.

How to Complete Mr Mnemonic in 007 First Light

After putting your bag in your apartment, follow Monroe to the TV and hack it with him using the Q-Watch. After the sequence, Monroe gives you a card and asks you to memorize two symbols in the bottom corners of the card. The correct answer is umbrella and crown.

When Monroe quizzes you, select the umbrella and crown option (Triangle on PlayStation / Y on Xbox). Answer correctly and the Mr Mnemonic challenge is yours. This one is easy to miss if you rush past Monroe or forget to interact with the TV moment properly.

How to Complete Spinning a Yarn in 007 First Light

After capturing the flag in the first section, a montage cutscene plays and Bond gets strapped to a polygraph test run by Greenway. The Spinning a Yarn challenge requires you to lie to every single question during the test.

When prompted, choose the Lie option (Square on PlayStation / X on Xbox) for all three questions in a row. Do not mix in any truthful answers. Lie three times consecutively and the challenge completes. This is a fun challenge to notice since most players default to telling the truth or mixing answers. Go full liar here.

How to Complete White Flag and Always Do the Unexpected in 007 First Light

These two challenges are in the “Search the Compound” section. White Flag means reaching the flag without taking down any soldiers. Always Do the Unexpected means reaching the flag without alerting anyone. Like the first section, you can stack both in a single run by following a clean stealth path.

Here is the route to follow:

  • After the bluff mechanic segment at the entrance guard, head down the ledge on the left.
  • Continue forward and hug the left ledge to drop down again into the tall grass.
  • Head up the stairs. On the left, there is a hole in the wall. Enter it.
  • Turn left to reach the balcony area and climb the blue pipe all the way up.
  • Use the open window on the left to vault through, then head left and immediately right to vault through a second window.
  • Take the stairs on your right upward.
  • Stick to the right side against the boxes and dash toward the blue door. Open it and claim the flag.

This route bypasses every guard in the compound. As long as you do not take anyone out or get spotted, both challenges unlock when you grab the flag.

The compound also contains some collectibles and the Compound Basement area, which has its own key. For help with that, see our 007 First Light compound basement keys guide.

How to Complete Party Crasher in 007 First Light

Party Crasher requires you to take down all 30 enemies in the compound before reaching the flag. This is the opposite of White Flag and Always Do the Unexpected, so do not try to combine them. Run in aggressively, use the Q-Lens to spot every enemy through walls, and clear the area before touching the flag.

Alerting enemies is fine here since getting into fights is the entire point. Just make sure you do not grab the flag too early. The challenge tracks your eliminations, so sweep every area of the compound before heading to the blue door. Missing even one enemy means the challenge will not complete.

How to Complete Pacifist: A New Home, Ghost: A New Home, and Assault: A New Home

These three meta-challenges unlock automatically once you complete the correct pairs of underlying challenges across both sections of the mission:

  • Pacifist: A New Home unlocks when you complete both Something to Prove (Deep End) and White Flag (Compound). No enemies knocked out in either section.
  • Ghost: A New Home unlocks when you complete both Cressida’s Way (Deep End) and Always Do the Unexpected (Compound). No detections in either section.
  • Assault: A New Home unlocks when you complete both Monroe’s Way (Deep End) and Party Crasher (Compound). All enemies defeated in both sections before the flag.

You cannot stack Pacifist and Assault in the same run since one requires no takedowns and the other requires all takedowns. Plan which pair you want to tackle first, then replay the chapter for the others. Ghost pairs cleanly with Pacifist since the stealth route avoids all combat anyway.

How to Unlock the Malta Training Outfit

The Malta Training Outfit unlocks by completing all 12 challenges in A New Home — that is the 10 unique challenges plus the Completionist challenge itself, which ticks off automatically once the other 10 are done. The outfit is a reward for going the distance in this chapter, and it is one of the cleaner-looking training looks in the game.

Tips for Completing A New Home Challenges Efficiently

  • Plan your runs in advance. The Pacifist and Ghost challenges can be combined in a single run across both sections. Assault requires its own separate run. Know which path you are taking before you start.
  • Use the Q-Lens constantly. It highlights enemies through walls, shows you patrol patterns, and reveals hackable objects. Never move through the compound blind.
  • Hack before you move. Speakers, air conditioners, and other environmental objects can distract guards and create safe windows to advance without being spotted.
  • Do not rush Monroe’s memory game. Take a second to actually memorize the symbols on the card. Umbrella and crown. It only takes a moment and saves a replay.
  • Lie on every polygraph question. Do not second-guess it. All three lies, in a row, no mixing in truth.
  • Use Chapter Select freely. Nothing in this chapter is missable. If you clean up the compound and forget the apartment challenges, you can jump back to the right checkpoint and knock them out quickly.

Can You Replay A New Home Challenges?

Yes. If you miss any challenge during your first run, use Chapter Select to return to any checkpoint in A New Home. Challenges save as soon as they are completed, so you do not need to finish the full chapter again — just jump to the right section and do what you missed.
