There’s a free code live right now for Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced and it’s worth grabbing immediately. Ubisoft has dropped the code ACBF-PHGN-SYBJ-RTRF to celebrate the game hitting 2 million copies sold, and it rewards all owners with the Crimson Storm sails for the Jackdaw plus 1500 Animus Keys. The whole redemption process takes about thirty seconds and there’s no catch — you just need to own the game and have a Ubisoft Connect account.
The only real time pressure here is that Ubisoft has confirmed the code will only “remain available for a limited redemption period” without specifying an end date. That means it could expire anytime, so don’t sit on it.
How to Redeem the AC Black Flag Resynced Code
- Head to the official Black Flag Resynced code redemption page at redeem.ubisoft.com/assassins-creed-black-flag-resynced
- Enter the code: ACBF-PHGN-SYBJ-RTRF
- Log in to your Ubisoft Connect account when prompted
- The code registers to your account and the rewards unlock in-game automatically
That’s genuinely it. No surveys, no referrals, no hoops. Once it’s tied to your account the items will be waiting for you next time you boot up the game.
What Do You Get From the Code?
Crimson Storm Sails
The Crimson Storm sails are a cosmetic for the Jackdaw, Edward Kenway’s ship and arguably the actual main character of the whole Black Flag experience. Ship customisation has always been one of the more satisfying parts of the game, and the Crimson Storm is a clean, visually distinct set of sails that stand out from the default look. If you’ve been spending time upgrading the Jackdaw and sailing the Caribbean, this is a nice way to give her some extra personality.
1500 Animus Keys
This is probably the more valuable part of the bundle for most players. Animus Keys are the currency you spend in the Exchange — the cross-game store tied to the Animus Hub system that Black Flag Resynced carries over from Assassin’s Creed Shadows. Keys are used to unlock legacy cosmetics from other AC games, including things like Connor’s robes from Assassin’s Creed 3, which runs 3000 Keys on its own. The Exchange also pulls in outfits, weapons, and ship cosmetics on a rotating basis.
Keys can normally only be earned through in-game play — by collecting Key collectibles scattered around the Caribbean (30 Keys each), completing Animus Projects, or working through the game’s challenge systems. You can’t buy them with real money, which makes 1500 free Keys a genuinely useful head start, especially if you’re early in your playthrough and haven’t unlocked much of the Exchange yet.
Worth noting: Animus Keys are shared across your Ubisoft account, so if you also own Assassin’s Creed Shadows, the Keys work there too for picking up gear on that side of the Exchange.
All AC Black Flag Resynced Codes
- ASC-BFR-PMK-000 — Shipmate Monkey
- ACBF-PHGN-SYBJ-RTRF — Crimson Storm Sails + 1500 Animus Keys
The Shipmate Monkey code from the game’s launch window is still showing as redeemable at the time of writing, though the same limited-period caveat applies. If you haven’t grabbed that one yet it’s worth entering both while you’re on the redemption page.
Why Ubisoft Is Handing Out Freebies
The code is technically a thank-you gift tied to Black Flag Resynced crossing 2 million sales on launch day — and partly a goodwill gesture. In the same post on X where Ubisoft announced the milestone, the team acknowledged it’s been closely monitoring player feedback and is aware of reported issues including localization and voice-over problems in certain territories and a 30FPS cutscene bug on PC. Fixes are reportedly in development and rolling out soon.
The 2 million day-one figure is a serious result for Ubisoft. The game launched on July 9 and hit a peak of 99,451 concurrent players on Steam within its first 24 hours — the highest ever recorded for any Assassin’s Creed game on the platform, comfortably clearing the previous record set by Assassin’s Creed Shadows (64,825). Critics have been broadly positive too, with an 85% score on OpenCritic, 84% on Metacritic, a 9/10 from IGN, and Digital Foundry calling it one of the most effective remakes they’ve seen.
Assassin’s Creed brand head Martin Schelling put it plainly in the post: “Black Flag has always held a special place in the heart of the community, and ours. Bringing it back with Resynced was a promise to that passion for Edward’s adventures, and to the unique sense of freedom players experienced back then.”
What This Means for Future AC Remakes
The success of Black Flag Resynced has bigger implications beyond just the game itself. It was widely understood that Ubisoft was watching closely to see whether a faithful remake of a beloved classic could translate into commercial success — and the answer so far is a very clear yes. Rumours have been circulating for a while that more Assassin’s Creed remakes are in development, and a launch like this only adds fuel to that. Whether that means AC2, Brotherhood, or something else is still very much in speculation territory, but the business case is now significantly stronger.
The next mainline entry in the series, Assassin’s Creed Hexe, is also in development, though Ubisoft has been almost completely silent on details. Given how well Resynced has landed, that title has some serious momentum to build on — or live up to, depending on how you look at it.
For now though, just grab the code. Crimson Storm Sails and 1500 Animus Keys for thirty seconds of effort is an easy win, and with no expiry date announced you’d be kicking yourself if you missed it.
