All Campsite Locations In Beast Of Reincarnation — What You Need To Know First

Finding all campsite locations in Beast Of Reincarnation is one of the clearest signs of a thorough explorer. Campsites function like bonfires in a soulslike — they are where Emma saves manually, rests, refreshes resources, and respawns after dying. But unlike shrines or Keeper Golems, Koo does not mark campsites on your map automatically. You find them by walking to them.

That makes campsite hunting different from other collectibles in this game. You need to physically explore every corner of each zone — including optional underground areas, side routes, and elevated platforms — rather than following Koo’s detection. Many campsites are tucked just off the main path in spots that are easy to walk past if you are focused on the objective.

Discovering all campsites unlocks the Happy Camper Bronze achievement. It can be completed in a single playthrough with post-game cleanup. If you are working through all collectible achievements at once, run campsite hunting alongside shrine hunting — both reward the same thorough exploration of each zone. Our shrine locations guide and our Keeper Golem locations guide cover those collectible types zone by zone so you can clean up everything in one pass.

You can play Beast Of Reincarnation on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, or PC via Steam, and is available on Xbox Game Pass Ultimate from day one.

How Campsites Work In Beast Of Reincarnation

Every campsite is a glowing campfire Emma can interact with. Resting at a campsite does the following:

  • Saves your game manually (alongside 2 autosave slots)
  • Refills Stimpacks to your current maximum
  • Resets all standard enemies in the zone
  • Cooks food automatically — Kagura processes any Malefact Meat in your inventory into meals
  • Advances Koo and Kagura’s research projects passively over time

There is no death penalty in Beast Of Reincarnation. When Emma dies, she respawns at the last campsite she rested at, keeping all items and experience. This makes finding nearby campsites before boss fights especially important — a closer respawn point means less ground to retread after a death.

Campsites also serve as fast travel points once discovered. You can teleport between any unlocked campsite from the map screen, making them essential for revisiting zones and cleaning up missed collectibles.

Zone 1 — Ogouchi Buffer Zone — 18 Campsites

The Ogouchi Buffer Zone is the opening zone and has the most campsites of any area in the game — 18 in total. Many are on the main story path, but several require detours into the Quarry, the Cliffside Village, and the three Subcity areas.

  • Cliffside Village: Interior — Southwest of Cliffside Village: Outskirts, on the upper cliff near the map edge.

  • Village by the Bridge — Along the main path after crossing the large ravine.
  • Cliff Area — Along the cliff west of Village by the Bridge campsite.

  • Downstream Bridge Area — North of Ruined Tower campsite, across the river.
  • Tailwater Village — Southeast of Downstream Bridge Area campsite, near a building.
  • Lookout Shack — Northwest of Downstream Bridge Area. Continue past the Elite Golem northwest, jump up the ruined buildings, and grapple to the higher platform to the north. The campsite is above a group of four Golems.
  • Cliff-Facing Tower — Above the sunken area where the Rangifer Nushi is fought.
  • Subcity 02 Entrance — West of Cliff-Facing Tower campsite, near the map edge.

Subcity Campsites (Underground Areas)

  • Subcity 01 Entrance — At the entrance to the large open area inside Subcity 01. This is on the main story path.
  • Nushi’s Lair: Gate Approach — Inside Subcity 03, in the room with the three-key door. This is where you get the Red Key and the Cirrus Sword. If you need help with the key puzzle, see our Red Key guide.
  • Toward the Nushi’s Lair — In Subcity 03 after opening the door with the three keys, on the first ledge you grapple to inside. The Wandering Merchant Golem is also here selling five Manuals.

Zone 2 — Ancient Civilization Zone — 9 Campsites

The Ancient Civilization Zone has 9 campsites. Several are inside the Underground Ruins and the Reservoir section, making this one of the more densely layered zones for campsite hunting.

  • Ruins Path — From the Shrine 1 platform, look north where butterflies cross a gap to another platform. Grapple across to find this campsite.
  • Raging River — Down the elevator to the lower area, on the edge of the floor near the river.
  • Abandoned Cliff Village Entrance — From Raging River, grapple to the pillar to the west and follow the grapple path all the way west to the map edge.
  • Tunnel Ruins Interior — From Raging River, go north across the river toward the objective. The campsite is inside at the top of the stairs.
  • Shopping Mall — After defeating the Elite Golem in the story sequence, this is on the other side of the gate that opens to let you progress.
  • Platform Entrance — From Shopping Mall, follow the main path — this campsite is directly in the way before dropping down a hole.
  • Reservoir: Interior — South of Raging River, at the south end of the large Reservoir room. Shrine 2 is on the east wall of this same room.
  • Ruins: Slope Approach — East of Reservoir Interior, after opening the bulkheads to progress. Either up the stairs through the underground area or on the opposite side of the bulkhead above ground.
  • Nushi’s Lair Entrance — Northeast of Ruins Slope Approach, left of the control panel used to access the Lacerta Nushi’s Lair.

Zone 3 — The Great Wall Terraces — 16 Campsites

The Great Wall Terraces has 16 campsites — the second highest count in the game. This zone has two optional underground areas (the Maze of Sin and the Subcity of Flowers), each containing their own campsites that are easy to miss if you skip them.

Main Zone Campsites

  • Mountain Village: Entrance — From the start, continue past the first bulkhead and follow the path to the left. This campsite is halfway up the hill to the west.
  • Mountain Plaza: Forefront — North of Mountain Village Entrance, on the right before the large open area with the story objective.
  • Mountain Overlook — Northwest of Mountain Plaza: Forefront, in the middle of the structures west of the Nue boss area.
  • Great Forest: Entrance — Follow the hill up from Mountain Plaza: Forefront to the bridge, cross east to the opposite side.
  • Great Forest Clearing: Approach — Northeast of the Great Forest Entrance campsite, along the path through the forest.
  • Flower Square: Forefront — North of Great Forest Entrance campsite, at the east edge of the path near Shrine 8.
  • Ruined Road Square — West of Flower Square: Forefront, across the bridge on top of the next area.
  • Flower Field Tower — North of Flower Square: Forefront, just before a large group of Golems on a metal platform.
  • Hidden Stone Hall — Southwest of Flower Field Tower, across the river at the point where the map goes further west. Shrine 10 is southeast of this campsite on a rock in the river.
  • Titan Buddha — North of Flower Field Tower, follow the path between ruined metal structures to the top in front of the giant stone Buddha statue.
  • Ruined Temple Entrance — West of Titan Buddha. Instead of taking the elevator up, continue west where this campsite sits before a metal building. Shrine 11 is northwest of here inside the building on the upper floor.
  • Old Sagami Colony: Approach — Northwest of Titan Buddha, up the elevator and across the broken bridge, just before the boss area.

Maze of Sin Campsites (Optional Underground Area)

  • Maze of Sin Entrance — Southwest of Great Forest Entrance campsite, follow the path to a large concrete structure. The campsite is in front of the underground entrance.
  • Maze of Sin Interior — Inside the Maze of Sin, reached by following the path and shooting explosive containers to break walls. The campsite is on the upper floor after clearing several enemies.

Subcity of Flowers Campsites (Optional Underground Area)

  • Subcity of Flowers: Entrance — Entered from the hatch in the ground northeast of Flower Square: Forefront / southeast of Flower Field Tower.
  • Subcity of Flowers: Interior — Inside the Subcity of Flowers, after the second door that requires clearing all enemies to open.

Zone 4 — Pilgrim’s Zone — 10 Campsites

Pilgrim’s Zone has 10 campsites. The cave system running through the middle of this zone contains four of them, and the Belfry interior holds another two. Skipping the cave or rushing through the Belfry will leave you short on campsite count.

  • Scorched Grassland — From the zone start, follow the path north. This campsite is on the road near the second large statue.
  • Wandering Duelist’s Cavern — Northwest of Scorched Grassland, grapple up to the bridge and follow the west side up the cliff. The campsite is here with two Elite Golems nearby.
  • Cave Entrance — Northeast of Scorched Grassland, inside the cave before you encounter any enemies. Shrine 13 and 14 are both found further into this cave.
  • Cave Interior — Northwest of Cave Entrance campsite, along the main cave path. The Wandering Merchant is east of this campsite.
  • Cave Depths — East of Cave Interior, along the main path at the top of an elevator.
  • Stone Chamber Entrance — Northwest of Cave Interior, up the elevator and just before the exit to the cave.
  • Trail Area — West of Stone Chamber Entrance. Ride the elevator or jump down to ground level, then head slightly west along the edge of the stone structure.
  • Stone Chamber Interior — Northwest of Stone Chamber Entrance, enter the interior area and grapple to the top floor. This campsite is on the north side before the second circular structure.
  • Belfry Entrance — Northeast of Stone Chamber Interior, back outside near a bridge. The belfry fire puzzle is in the building here — see our guide on how to light a fire in the proper order for the correct sequence.
  • Belfry Interior — Northwest of Belfry Entrance, inside the Belfry area. Take the western elevator up to the second set of platforms. The campsite is on the north side of that platform.
  • Nushi’s Lair Entrance — North of Belfry Entrance, on the west side of the path before the Taurus Nushi’s Lair. Shrine 18 is east of here via an elevator and a grapple across the broken bridge.

Zone 5 — Matsukawa Zone

The Matsukawa Zone is one of the largest open areas in the game and contains a high number of campsites spread across its wide terrain, colony gates, and cave systems. Campsites here are found along the main route through the zone, inside the Matsukawa Colony itself, and in several detour paths heading off the central road. The zone’s open layout means campsites can appear in multiple directions from any given point — explore each area thoroughly before triggering the next objective. There is also a cave entrance section in this zone with its own interior campsite, similar to Pilgrim’s Zone.

Zone 6 — Fuji Frontier Zone

all mountainous region fuji frontier zone campsite locations in beast of reincarnation

The Fuji Frontier Zone is shorter than the zones before it but still contains campsites along its main path and in the bridge control area near the chapter’s central structure. The key campsite landmarks here are near the pipe crossings west of the start and around the Bridge Control Room approach. Shrines 28 and 29 are both close to the western campsites in this zone, so grab both collectible types at the same time.

Zone 7 — Giant Tree Zone

The Giant Tree Zone contains campsites spread across multiple vertical levels — the colony grounds at the base, mid-level tree platforms, and the upper sections reachable via the gondola line. The most important ones to find for the Happy Camper achievement are the ones on the elevated tree levels. Players who take the main gondola route without exploring the side platforms on each level will miss several. The campsite near the Giant Tree Roots (Middle Level) sits on the same platform as Shrine 36, so finding one means finding the other.

Zone 8 — Crater Zone

all wasteland region crater zone campsite locations in beast of reincarnation

The Crater Zone’s campsites are spread around the central crater, the lake base structure to the south, and the inner complex areas. The Crater: Outskirt campsite is the one most players will recognise — it is directly east of the central crater and sits next to the best XP farming spot in the game. The Whitered Beast that spawns west of this campsite grants substantial experience, making this one of the most visited campsites in the whole game for players grinding toward Level 100.

The Hidden Cave campsite is one of the easier ones to miss. It is in a smaller sub-area of the Crater Zone that branches off the main path — look for the cave entrance along the western cliff face.

Zone 9 — Inukami River Zone

all wasteland region inukami river zone campsite locations in beast of reincarnation
all wasteland region inukami river zone campsite locations in beast of reincarnation

The Inukami River Zone is the setting for Chapter 9. Emma starts this zone without Koo following the Chapter 8 ending, which means Koo’s campsite area-detection (when it works for general exploration) is unavailable early in this zone. Focus on following the main route through the colony and checking side buildings as you work through the chapter objective. Once Koo rejoins Emma, use him to sweep the outer areas. The Ruined Plaza campsite is a key landmark here — it sits in the middle of an open area with many small pillars, and the final Lore Painting is in the ruins beside it.

Zone 10 — Starfall Tower

Starfall Tower is the setting for Chapter 10 and the pursuit of Shidou’s Malefact. Campsites here are distributed across the tower’s multi-level interior. Work through the tower’s floors methodically — rest at every campsite you find before pressing into the next section. Having a nearby respawn point matters in this chapter, as the enemy density inside the tower is high. Our Malefact of Fate quest guide covers the chapter objectives in detail.

Zone 11 — Mount Hiei Zone

all capital zone mount hiei zone campsite locations in beast of reincarnation

The Mount Hiei Zone covers the Capital Outskirt — the gateway to the endgame. Campsites here mark the final pre-Capital exploration areas. There are fewer campsites in this zone than the earlier ones, but each sits at a significant point along the approach to the Capital. Do not push into the Capital without first exploring the Mount Hiei Zone fully and resting at each campsite you find. The Black Blossom sword, awarded for defeating Nue and Shidou here, is one of the collectible weapons needed for the Blade Collector achievement.

Zone 12 — The Capital

all capital zone the campsite locations in beast of reincarnation
all capital zone the campsite locations in beast of reincarnation

The Capital covers Chapters 12 and 13 — the final zone of the game. Campsites here are found across the Capital’s interior as you push toward the final boss. This zone includes some of the hardest enemy encounters in the game, so every campsite you find reduces the respawn distance after a death. After completing the story, the Capital’s campsites remain accessible during post-game free roam — any you missed during the main campaign can be found then.

Tips For Finding Every Campsite Faster

  • Check underground areas in every zone. The Ogouchi Buffer Zone has three Subcity areas, each with their own campsites. The Great Wall Terraces has the Maze of Sin and the Subcity of Flowers. Pilgrim’s Zone has a full cave system. Players who skip optional underground areas are almost always missing campsites.
  • Every dead end has something. Campsites are consistently placed at the end of side paths. If a route does not lead to an objective marker, follow it anyway. It almost always leads to a campsite, a shrine, a Keeper Golem, or a weapon.
  • Rest at every fire you find immediately. Campsites only register on the Happy Camper tracking once you interact with them. Walking past one without resting does not count. If you see a fire, stop and rest.
  • Use fast travel as a checklist. Open your map and look at every campsite marker. If you see a gap in coverage in a zone — an area with no campsite markers nearby — that is where one is hiding.
  • Do the Lookout Shack in Ogouchi Buffer Zone early. This campsite is northwest of Downstream Bridge Area and requires jumping up ruined buildings and grappling to a platform above four Golems. Many players miss it because it does not sit on an obvious route.
  • The Ogouchi Buffer Zone has 18 campsites. If you finish Zone 1 and your campsite count is below 18, go back before moving to Zone 2. It is easier to clean up in the early zones while the layout is fresh.
  • Nothing is missable. Free roam is available after the story ends. You can return to every zone and collect any missed campsites in post-game cleanup before or during New Game+.

Happy Camper Achievement And The Other Collectibles

Happy Camper is a Bronze achievement and is fully achievable in a single playthrough. It does not require New Game+ unlike the Finders Keepers achievement for Keeper Golems. Once you have found every campsite, the achievement pops automatically.

If you are going for the full Platinum or 100% completion, campsite hunting pairs naturally with every other collectible type. Shrines sit near campsites. Keeper Golems are often found on the same detour paths as campsites. Lore Paintings are in areas adjacent to campsite clusters. Running all four collectible types in the same exploration pass is the most time-efficient approach.

For the full picture on every achievement in the game, our Beast Of Reincarnation achievements guide lists every trophy with exact unlock conditions. For chapter-by-chapter zone context — so you always know which chapter a zone belongs to when you return to clean up — our chapter and quest list covers all 13 chapters and their zones in order.

Frequently Asked Questions

How Many Campsites Are In Beast Of Reincarnation?

There are campsites spread across all 12 zones of the game. The Ogouchi Buffer Zone alone has 18, and later zones like the Great Wall Terraces have 16. The total count across all zones is substantial — expect well over 100 campsites in the full game.

Does Koo Mark Campsites On The Map?

No. Unlike Dragon Vein Shrines and Keeper Golems, Koo does not automatically detect or mark campsites. You find them purely through exploration. A campsite appears on your map only after you have physically walked to it and interacted with it.

Do Campsites Reset Enemies?

Yes. Resting at any campsite resets all standard enemies in the zone. Boss enemies and Elite Golems do not respawn. This also means that if you are farming XP from a standard enemy, resting at the nearby campsite is how you reset that enemy between kills.

Can You Miss Campsites Permanently?

No. All zones stay open after the story ends and during New Game+. Any campsite missed during the campaign can be found in post-game free roam. Nothing in Beast Of Reincarnation is permanently missable.

What Achievement Do You Get For Finding All Campsites?

Finding all campsites unlocks the Happy Camper Bronze achievement. Finding your very first campsite unlocks a separate achievement called First Fire. Both are tracked independently.

Can Happy Camper Be Earned In One Playthrough?

Yes. All campsites are available in the first playthrough. Unlike Finders Keepers (which requires two runs for Keeper Golem conversations), Happy Camper can be fully completed before starting New Game+, using post-game free roam to clean up any missed campsites.
