All Unreleased Sprites in Fortnite Runners (New Sprite Days)

All unreleased sprites in Fortnite Runners — release dates, confirmed abilities, and leaked Sprites coming every Thursday in Chapter 7 Season 3.

  • All unreleased sprites in Fortnite Runners drop every Thursday as part of New Sprite Day updates at 9 AM ET.
  • Holofoil Sprites launched July 9 — they are a new variant type, not a new base Sprite.
  • Batman Sprite arrives July 16 alongside a DC Summer collab; its ability is still unconfirmed.
  • Seven Sprite and Air Sprite are next in line but have no locked release date yet.
  • Gem, Cube, Quack, and John Wick Sprites are datamined and coming later in the season — release dates unknown.
  • Three community-designed Sprites from the Design a Sprite contest are also coming before the season ends.
  • Some leaked ability effects from FireMonkey exist but have no confirmed Sprites attached to them yet.

All unreleased sprites in Fortnite Runners follow a weekly schedule. Epic drops at least one new Sprite every Thursday as part of their New Sprite Day updates. Some Thursdays bring brand-new base Sprites with original abilities. Others add new variant types — like Holofoil — that apply across existing Sprites. It matters to know which is which before you plan your grind.

Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 3 ends on August 19, 2026. That means there are still several Thursdays left to go, and the list below will grow as the season continues. We’ll flag what’s confirmed, what’s leaked, and what’s still a mystery.

When Do New Sprites Come Out in Fortnite Runners?

New Sprites release every Thursday. The update goes live at 9 AM ET on weeks without a major patch. On update weeks — when Epic runs server downtime — Sprites go live right after servers come back up, usually from 4 AM ET onward.

You can also get lucky during Mastery Monday, where Sprite Dust earnings from extractions double. Saturdays have Power Hours at 3:30 PM and 9:30 PM ET, where specific Sprite variants cycle in and out. Keep an eye on Epic’s socials to know which Sprite is active each Saturday.

All Unreleased Sprites Coming to Fortnite Runners

Here is every upcoming Sprite with what we know about each one, including confirmed abilities, datamined effects, and release dates.

Holofoil Sprites — Released July 9

Holofoil is a new variant type, not a new base Sprite. Every existing Sprite can have a Holofoil version. The first five Holofoil variants launched on July 9: Water, Fire, Ghost, King, and Striker. More Holofoil versions are coming.

Effect: Your squad has a 5% chance to find rare Sprite Variants from looting chests.

Holofoil sits above Gold, Gummy, and Galaxy in rarity. If you want to know how to chase them, check out our full guide on how to get Holofoil Sprites.

Batman Sprite — Coming July 16

The Batman Sprite arrives with the July 16 update as part of a DC Summer collab. The update also brings summer-themed skins for Batman, Harley Quinn, Catwoman, and Poison Ivy.

The release date came from a Nintendo eShop promotional listing that went live early by mistake. The update is expected after downtime at 4 AM PT / 7 AM ET on July 16.

Ability: Not confirmed yet. Based on its design and Batman’s kit, expect something tied to tracking enemies or movement. Dataminers have not pinned a specific effect to it.

The Batman Sprite will have Gold, Gummy, Galaxy, and Holofoil variants. Its rarity tier — Mythic or Epic — has not been confirmed either.

Seven Sprite — Release Date Unconfirmed

Ability: Enemy player foot trails are visible in the world for your squad.

This is one of the strongest utility Sprites in the game on paper. Tracking enemy movement in real time gives your squad a major positioning advantage in late circles.

The Seven Sprite has been used in Epic’s own marketing material, so it is definitely coming. However, it has no confirmed release date. Some sources have suggested July 23, but this is not official. Earlier sources briefly listed July 2 before walking it back.

Air Sprite — Release Date Unconfirmed

Ability: Increases sprinting speed and jump height. Nullifies fall damage.

The Air Sprite is a movement-focused companion. If you play aggressively and use a lot of high-ground positioning, this one pairs well with Seven Sliders for fast rotations.

Like the Seven Sprite, no official date has been given. July 23 has been suggested based on update cadence, but treat that as an estimate.

Gem Sprites — Release Date Unknown

Effect: Take 30% less fall damage.

Gem is a variant type like Holofoil, not a standalone base Sprite. This means Gem versions of existing Sprites are coming at some point. The Gem variant is already listed in trackers like locker.gg alongside Gold, Gummy, Galaxy, and Holofoil. Release timing has not been announced. Our full guide on Gem Sprites will be updated when they drop.

Cube Sprites — Release Date Unknown

Cube is another datamined variant type. No ability or release date has been confirmed. It appears in tracker databases as an unreleased category sitting alongside the other special variants.

Quack Sprites — Release Date Unknown

Quack Sprites are datamined but have no confirmed ability or date either. The name lines up with the Quack Snacks consumable already in the game, so there may be a connection, but nothing has been officially tied together yet.

John Wick Sprite — Release Date Unknown

John Wick is already in the game as a Battle Pass skin with the John Wick Pen & Ink style. A John Wick Sprite is also datamined and confirmed in tracker databases as Mythic rarity.

No ability or release date has been confirmed. Given the John Wick theme around precision and combat, expect something tied to eliminations or weapon handling. The 9mm Baba Yaga pistol is already a season weapon, which may hint at a thematic ability link.

Community-Designed Sprites Coming to Fortnite Runners

Epic ran the Design a Sprite contest between June 17 and July 1, 2026. The contest asked players to submit original Sprite concepts via X, Instagram, TikTok, or Reddit using the hashtag #DesignASprite.

Five winners were selected (the original three was expanded to five). Each winner gets $2,500 and their Sprite built into the game for real. The winning Sprites are expected to drop before the season ends on August 19.

No winner names or Sprite details have been officially announced yet. Epic’s Concept Royale programme has a track record of actually delivering on this — past winning designs became real cosmetics. Check back here once Epic reveals the winners. In the meantime, you can see how the contest works in our full Design a Sprite breakdown.

Leaked Sprite Abilities With No Confirmed Sprite

Dataminer FireMonkey uncovered a set of passive abilities that exist in the game files but are not yet attached to a named Sprite. These are believed to belong to future unreleased Sprites. Some may not make it to the live game at all.

  • Knocking players reveals other nearby enemies.
  • Gain a double jump that creates a Wind Vortex.
  • Chance to find Stink Bombs when opening Ammo Boxes, Port-a-Potties, or Dumpsters.
  • You and nearby squadmates replenish shields while in the storm.
  • Explosives deal bonus shrapnel damage.
  • Small chance to find the Mythic Goldfish in loot containers.
  • Your squad spawns a Rift nearby after each new storm phase.
  • Looted containers have a chance to splash Gold Rush onto the player.
  • Slowly reloads ammo into your equipped Assault Rifle or LMG.
  • Your squad receives extra Gold Bars from containers and eliminations.
  • A percentage of ammo returns to your reserves when reloading.

Several of these abilities would shake up the late-game meta if they hit live servers. The storm shield replenishment in particular would be extremely strong in final circles. These may be tied to Cube, Quack, John Wick, or community contest Sprites — or may end up scrapped entirely.

How to Prepare for Unreleased Sprites in Fortnite Runners

New Sprites add to the loot pool without removing old ones. That means spawn rates for existing Sprites thin out a little with each addition. Plan your grind around what’s already in the game before the pool gets larger.

Stock up on Sprite Dust now. Rarer Sprites like Seven and John Wick will cost more Dust to summon. Mastering the Sprites you already have also earns rewards through the Sprite Mastery system.

For the best Sprite farming routes before new drops hit, see our best loot path for Sprites and the full Sprite Chest locations guide.

You can also get the game for free on Fortnite.com, through the PlayStation Store, Xbox, Nintendo Switch 2, Epic Games Store, Google Play, or iOS App Store.
