Getting to Pinos Isle
Pinos Isle is in the Castillo de Jagua region on the western side of the Caribbean map. The island is accessible in open-world sailing and has no story gate, but Dualshockers specifically flags that Pinos Isle is heavily guarded by ships in the surrounding water. The easiest way to dock without a naval fight is to jump off the Jackdaw about 200 to 300 meters from shore and swim in. This skips the ship engagement entirely and lands you directly on the island without any hull damage.
Once ashore, sync the single Viewpoint first. It reveals all collectible markers on the map and makes navigating between the two stelae and the treasure map locations much faster.
Stelae 1 — Eastern Ruins (Coordinates 311, 454)
Where to Find It
The first stelae is on the eastern side of Pinos Isle. PowerPyx confirms it is accessed by climbing up the wall you see when first entering the island — the stelae pillar is on top of it. Head to the entrance of the main ruins on the east side and look for the climbable wall. Scale it and the pillar will be right at the top.
This area is patrolled by Spanish soldiers. Clear any guards near the wall before climbing so you can solve the puzzle without interruption.
Puzzle Solution — Stelae 1
Climb to the top of the pillar and press the interaction button (Triangle on PS / Y on Xbox). Here is the solution:
- Rotate the overlay left using the right stick.
- Line up the rectangle shape in the overlay with the collapsed pillar at the top of the ruins below you.
- Scale and adjust until all sections of the overlay seat correctly over the highlighted ruins.
- The puzzle completes automatically once aligned.
After solving, a green dig marker appears on the ground. Climb down, head to it, and press the dig button to collect the first Pinos Isle Mayan Stone.
Stelae 2 — Western Side Near the Viewpoint (Coordinates 303, 452)
Where to Find It
The second stelae is on the western part of the island, near the Viewpoint, on a hill overlooking the shipwreck on the shore. PC Gamer confirms it’s east of the synchronisation point — so after syncing the Viewpoint, look slightly east and downhill toward the coast. The pillar sits on the slope with a clear view of the wrecked ship on the beach below.
GameSpot’s tip confirms this is down by the beach — the second stelae is lower on the hillside than the first one. It’s very close to the Viewpoint, making it quick to reach immediately after syncing.
Puzzle Solution — Stelae 2
Climb the second pillar and activate the puzzle. The solution here uses different shapes than Stelae 1:
- The overlay contains two circles and a rectangle.
- The two circles represent two stones on the ground — line each circle up with one of those stones.
- The rectangle represents a fallen block in the sand nearby — align it with that block.
- Scale and rotate until all three shapes match their targets on the ground.
- The puzzle completes automatically when everything is aligned.

The Cumberland Bay Treasure Map is found on a sandy shoal under palm trees at Cumberland Bay. Once you have it in your inventory, head to Pinos Isle at coordinates 304, 455.
