Blind Justice Walkthrough – Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced

Blind Justice in AC Black Flag Resynced has you boarding a British Man O' War — here's how to find it, sink the escorts first, and claim the full 2,700 Reales.

Blind Justice is the third Naval Contract in Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced, and it’s a noticeable step up in difficulty from the previous two. Milo Van Der Graaf wants you to board a British Man O’ War — the heaviest ship type in the game. Before it even shows up, you’ll need to deal with three Brig escorts protecting it. Sink those first, earn the bonus, and you’ll walk away with the full 2,700 Reales.

  • TL;DR
  • Accept Blind Justice from Milo Van Der Graaf at the Great Inagua docks
  • Only unlocks after completing A Spanish Plague
  • Sail to the marked area near Ile à Vache and destroy the 3 Brig escorts
  • The British Man O’ War spawns only after all 3 escorts are sunk
  • Incapacitate the Man O’ War, then board and clear the crew
  • Do not sink the Man O’ War — boarding is the objective
  • Base reward: 1,800 Reales — bonus: +900 Reales for sinking the 3 escorts before boarding
  • Total with bonus: 2,700 Reales

How to Unlock Blind Justice

Blind Justice is Naval Contract #3 in AC Black Flag Resynced. It unlocks alongside the rest of the Naval Contracts after you finish A Spanish Plague — the first contract in the chain. Once that’s done, all remaining contracts appear on your map.

Head to Great Inagua and find Milo Van Der Graaf at the docks. He’ll give you the Blind Justice contract. The job is simple in description: board a British Man O’ War that’s been causing trouble. The execution is more involved — the ship doesn’t show itself until you’ve dealt with its protective escorts first.

Blind Justice Contract Objectives and Reward

There’s one main objective and one bonus challenge that earns extra pay:

  • Main objective: Find and board the British Man O’ War
  • Bonus objective: Sink all 3 Brig escort ships before boarding the Man O’ War (+900 Reales)
  • Base reward: 1,800 Reales
  • Full reward (with bonus): 2,700 Reales

The bonus is naturally built into the mission flow. The Man O’ War won’t spawn until the escorts are gone — so as long as you sink all three Brigs before boarding, the bonus is yours without any extra effort.

Where to Find the Escort Ships and Man O’ War

After accepting the contract, a green investigation zone appears on your map in the waters near Ile à Vache, in the Navassa region south of Great Inagua. Sail there and pull out your spyglass to start scanning.

You won’t see the Man O’ War at first. Instead, you’ll spot a group of three British Brigs sailing in the area. These are the escort protecting the target. The Man O’ War is hiding nearby but won’t appear on your map or in the waters until all three Brigs are destroyed. Focus on the escorts entirely before worrying about the main target.

Once all three Brigs are sunk or incapacitated, the British Man O’ War spawns in the nearby waters — look for a large ship appearing south of Ile à Vache after the escorts go down.

How to Complete Blind Justice — Step by Step

  • Accept the contract from Milo at the Great Inagua docks
  • Sail to the Ile à Vache area marked on your map
  • Use your spyglass to find the 3 Brig escort ships
  • Sink all 3 Brigs — this locks in the bonus objective
  • Wait for the British Man O’ War to spawn nearby
  • Engage the Man O’ War — use broadsides, swivel guns, and mortars to bring down its health
  • Stop firing when the boarding prompt appears — don’t sink it
  • Board the Man O’ War and eliminate the crew on deck
  • Complete the boarding to finish the contract and collect 2,700 Reales

How to Fight the Brig Escorts

The three Brigs are manageable individually but they tend to separate once you engage, spreading out along the coastline. Mortars are effective here — aim at the middle Brig first to disrupt the formation and trigger them to scatter. Then chase each one down and sink it with broadsides.

Don’t bother boarding the Brigs for the bonus objective — you just need them sunk before you board the Man O’ War. That said, if your Jackdaw takes damage during the escort fight, boarding a disabled Brig lets you repair your hull and grab extra ammo before the Man O’ War arrives. If you board them, the bonus still counts as long as all three are dealt with before you board the Man O’ War. Sinking is faster though.

How to Fight the British Man O’ War

Man O’ Wars are the toughest ship type in the game — heavy armor, powerful broadside cannons, and mortar fire. This is likely your first proper encounter with one in the Naval Contracts chain, and it demands a bit of patience.

Key things to know going into this fight:

  • Stay off its sides. A Man O’ War’s broadside cannons are devastating at close range. Fight from the front or rear whenever you can.
  • Use the Jackdaw’s speed and mobility. Circle the Man O’ War rather than trading broadsides head-on. The Jackdaw is faster — use that.
  • Combine weapons. Mortars, broadside cannons, and swivel guns all contribute. Alternate between them to keep constant pressure on its hull.
  • Watch for incoming mortar shots. The Man O’ War fires mortars too — watch for the shadow circles on the water and steer out of them.
  • Stop firing when it’s incapacitated. The moment the boarding prompt appears, hold your fire. One extra broadside can accidentally sink it and fail the mission.

Once the boarding prompt is live, closing in and starting the boarding sequence freezes all incoming damage to the Jackdaw. Any mortar rounds in the air won’t land, and the fight pauses entirely while you’re on the enemy deck.

Boarding the Man O’ War

Once you trigger the boarding, you’ll need to eliminate the crew on the enemy deck. Man O’ Wars have a large crew complement, so expect a bigger fight than you had on the San Lorenzo in Eye For An Eye. Take your time, use parries, and work through the crew methodically.

During boarding, you may also need to destroy powder stores on deck as part of the boarding sequence. Clear the crew count and handle any deck objectives to complete the boarding and finish the contract.

Once the boarding is done, the contract completes and you collect your reward. You can also choose to send the captured Man O’ War to Kenway’s Fleet after capture for additional long-term income if that option is available.

Jackdaw Upgrades Worth Having Before Blind Justice

This contract is rated harder than the first two. A Man O’ War hits hard, and the three-Brig escort fight beforehand means you arrive at the main event with potentially damaged hull and reduced ammo. These upgrades make the fight noticeably smoother:

  • Hull armor (at least level 2). You will take hits in this fight. Better armor means more room for error.
  • Broadside cannons (level 2+). More damage per shot means the Man O’ War goes down faster.
  • Mortar upgrade. Mortars are your best weapon against the Brig escorts and a strong opener against the Man O’ War before you close the range.
  • Repair kit stock. If the Brig fight costs you hull, you’ll want options before the Man O’ War shows up.

Where Blind Justice Fits in the Naval Contracts Chain

Blind Justice is Naval Contract #3 out of 15. It’s the first contract that pits you against a Man O’ War, and the escort mechanic — where the main target only appears after you clear its protection — is unique to this contract in the early chain. Later contracts like Papers, Please and The Final Contract raise the stakes further, so this is a good fight to get comfortable with Man O’ War combat before those arrive.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I unlock Blind Justice in AC Black Flag Resynced?

Blind Justice unlocks after you complete A Spanish Plague, the first Naval Contract. After that, find Milo Van Der Graaf at the Great Inagua docks to accept it.

Where do I find the Man O’ War in Blind Justice?

The Man O’ War doesn’t appear until you’ve destroyed all three Brig escort ships first. Sail to the marked area near Ile à Vache, sink the Brigs, and the Man O’ War will spawn nearby once they’re gone.

How do I earn the bonus 900 Reales in Blind Justice?

Sink all 3 Brig escort ships before you board the Man O’ War. Since the Man O’ War only spawns after the escorts are gone anyway, this happens naturally as long as you clear them fully before triggering the boarding sequence.

What happens if I accidentally sink the Man O’ War?

Sinking it means you can’t board it, which means the main objective fails. Stop firing the moment the boarding prompt appears. Switch to lighter fire or hold off entirely as the Man O’ War gets low on health.

Is Blind Justice hard?

It’s one of the tougher early Naval Contracts because Man O’ Wars are the heaviest ship class in the game. The escort fight before the main event also means you arrive with potentially reduced hull and ammo. Level 2 hull armor and upgraded cannons make a significant difference here.

What is the total reward for Blind Justice?

2,700 Reales — 1,800 base pay plus a 900 Reale bonus for sinking the 3 escort ships before boarding the Man O’ War.
