How Assassin Contracts Work in AC Black Flag Resynced
Assassin Contracts are optional side missions in Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced. Each one gives you a Templar target to hunt down and eliminate. They are short, self-contained missions. You find the target, kill them, and collect the reward.
James Kidd introduces you to contracts during the main quest Overrun and Outnumbered. After that, skull icons appear on the map as you sync viewpoints across the Caribbean. You can also filter for contracts specifically on the map screen.
Each contract pays 1,500 Reales for the assassination. On top of that, every contract has a secondary challenge — a specific kill method. Hit that condition and you earn an extra 500 Reales, bringing the total to 2,000 Reales per contract.
There are 30 contracts in total spread across the map. None are missable. You can return and finish them all after completing the main story. The rewards make them well worth doing — completing 16 unlocks the Stealth Outfit, and finishing all 30 rewards the Spring-Steel Swords.
While you are tracking down contracts, you will also want to keep your Kenway’s Fleet running in the background to earn passive Reales between missions.

Accept from the southern pigeon coop. The target is in the center of the camp. Bonus objective: Kill with an explosive (+500 Reales).
Contract 2 — Unlicensed Dealer
Accept from the southern pigeon coop. The target roams around the center of the area. Bonus objective: Kill from a hiding spot (+500 Reales).
Contract 3 — The Spanish Captain
Accept from the central pigeon coop. The target roams the center of the area. Bonus objective: Kill with a rope dart (+500 Reales).
Contract 4 — A Shipment of Powder
Accept from the central pigeon coop. Bonus objective: Kill with an explosive (+500 Reales).
Contract 5 — No More Taxes

Contract 8 — Shady Business
Accept from the pigeon coop. The target is in Cape Bonavista, standing in the center. Bonus objective: Kill while in a stalking zone (+500 Reales).

Contract 19 — The Unworthy Brother
Accept from the pigeon coop on the south end of the island. The target is near the Tavern. Bonus objective: Hang the target with a rope dart (+500 Reales).
Contract 20 — The Outlaw’s Cave
Accept from the pigeon coop on the south end of the island. The target is in Ambergris Key Cave, past the underwater section, in the ruins. Bonus objective: Kill from above (+500 Reales). Note: you need to kill the target and all other enemies in the area to complete this one.
Serranilla Region — New Bone (Contracts 21–22)
Contract 21 — Renegade
Accept from the pigeon coop on the eastern side of the island. The target is at the campsite on the east side of the map. Kill the fugitive and all other men there. Bonus objective: Kill from a stalking zone — crouched in tall grass or from above (+500 Reales).
Contract 22 — The Treasure Hunter
Accept from the pigeon coop on the eastern side of the island. The target is on Misteriosa Island, near the top of the ruins. Bonus objective: Kill from above using a rope dart (+500 Reales).

Navassa Region — Kingston (Contracts 23–26)
Kingston has four contracts, the second-highest count after Havana. Two pigeon coops cover all four — one south of the church and one to the north.
Contract 23 — The Weapons Smugglers
Accept from the pigeon coop just south of the church. The target is in a courtyard just east of the church. Kill the smuggler and all enemies there. Bonus objective: Kill with an explosive (+500 Reales).
Contract 24 — The British Captain
Accept from the pigeon coop just south of the church. The target is along the southern shore. Kill the captain and all enemies. Bonus objective: Kill from above (+500 Reales).
Contract 25 — The Plantation Master
Accept from the pigeon coop north of the church near the General Store. Head north to the plantation. The target stands just outside his plantation house and is heavily guarded. Kill the owner. Bonus objective: Kill from a stalking zone — crouching in the bushes (+500 Reales).
Contract 26 — The Guard Post
Accept from the pigeon coop north of the church near the General Store. Head southwest of the northern plantation to the raised piece of land where the Templar captain is. Bonus objective: Kill while hanging from a ledge (+500 Reales).
Navassa Region — Port Royal (Contracts 27–28)
Contract 27 — The Judge
Accept from the pigeon coop on the eastern side of the island. The judge is knocking on doors trying to get into a building in the center of the island. Bonus objective: Kill from above (+500 Reales).

Accept from the pigeon coop in the center of the island. Head to Cumberland Bay where the privateer leader is in the center. Bonus objective: Kill with an explosive (+500 Reales).

Tips for Completing Assassin Contracts
- Sync every viewpoint you find. Contracts only appear on the map after you sync the viewpoint in that area. Prioritise viewpoints early to reveal the full contract list.
- Always go for the bonus kill method. The extra 500 Reales adds up fast. Over 30 contracts that is an extra 15,000 Reales if you hit every bonus.
- Use Eagle Vision to spot targets. In busy areas like Havana and Kingston, Eagle Vision highlights the target in gold so you don’t accidentally engage the wrong enemy.
- Use rope darts for aerial hang kills. Several bonus objectives ask you to hang the target with a rope dart from above. Find a beam or tree branch above the patrol route, lock on, and fire.
- Use explosives for grouped targets. Contracts like Beach Bonfire and A Shipment of Powder ask for explosive kills. Throw a powder keg near the target or use a grenade before they move away from guards.
- Double assassinations need precise timing. For The Twin Dilemma and A Botched Escape, wait until both targets are standing very close together before striking. Use the hidden blade combo.
- Stalk zone kills are low-risk. Tall grass and hay bales count as stalking zones. Pull a target into the grass using a whistle and strike from there to guarantee the bonus without fighting the whole camp.
- Ledge kills require positioning. The Guard Post contract wants a kill while hanging from a ledge. Find the edge of the elevated area where the target walks near the cliff, hang from the side, and wait for them to pass over you.
