Where Is Misteriosa in AC Black Flag Resynced

Misteriosa is located in the Serranilla region of the Caribbean. It sits in the upper-central portion of the map and is one of three locations in the game that holds two Mayan Stelae.

The stele markers will appear on your map once you sync the viewpoint on or near the island. Both stelae sit close together, so it is very efficient to grab them both in a single trip. Do not leave the island until you have collected both stones.

Misteriosa First Mayan Stone Location – Eastern Ruins

The first Mayan Stele on Misteriosa is found on the eastern side of the ruins, on the sides of the stone structures that overlook the island. Head toward the ruins from wherever you dock and look for the tall pillar rising above the rubble.

Here is how to reach it:

1. Sail to Misteriosa in the Serranilla region
2. Sync the viewpoint if the markers are not yet showing
3. Head to the eastern side of the ruins
4. Locate the stele pillar overlooking the island
5. Climb to the top of the pillar
6. Press the interact button to investigate

First Misteriosa Mayan Stone Puzzle Solution

Once you activate the stele, Eagle Vision highlights the nearby ruins and a glowing white pattern appears on the ground below. Your job is to rotate and align the pattern until it matches the layout of the rocks and pillars beneath you.

Here is how to solve it:

• The overlay has two circles and two inverted L-shapes
• The two circles represent blocks jutting out from the ruins
• The two inverted L-shapes represent the nearby columns
• Rotate the overlay until the circles and L-shapes line up with those structures
• Once aligned, a section of ground begins to glow
• Climb down and walk to the glowing dig spot
• Interact with it to collect the first Mayan Stone

Remember – solving the puzzle and picking up the stone are two separate steps. You must physically go to the dig spot and interact with it after the puzzle is complete.

Misteriosa Second Mayan Stone Location – Southwest Beach

The second stele is found on the southwest side of Misteriosa, toward the back of the temple ruins near the western shoreline. Coordinates for this one are approximately 265, 171.

This location has a couple of things worth noting:

• There is a Treasure Map nearby – pick it up before or after solving the puzzle
• A soldier patrols this beach area and is easy to miss until he has already spotted you and alerted others
• Clear the immediate area before starting the puzzle so you are not interrupted mid-solve

To reach the second stele:

1. From the first stele, head southwest toward the shoreline
2. Look for the stele pillar at the back of the ruins
3. Check for the patrolling soldier and deal with him first
4. Climb to the top of the pillar and investigate

Second Misteriosa Mayan Stone Puzzle Solution

The second puzzle works the same way as the first. Activate Eagle Vision from the top of the pillar and align the glowing overlay with the highlighted features on the ground below.

• Rotate and adjust the overlay to match the rocks and ruins at the base of the southwest area
• The two circles in the pattern again represent nearby stone blocks
• Align everything until the dig spot glows on the ground
• Climb down and interact with the dig spot to collect the second Mayan Stone

Both puzzles at Misteriosa follow the same two-circle, two-inverted-L pattern. Work each shape individually rather than spinning the whole overlay at once and you will solve both quickly.

The Treasure Map Near the Second Stele

While you are at the second stele location on the southwest side, look around for a Treasure Map. It sits close to the stele and is easy to miss if you rush straight to the puzzle. Picking it up while you are already in the area saves you a return trip.

How Mayan Stele Puzzles Work in Black Flag Resynced

If Misteriosa is one of your first stops on the Mayan Mysteries quest, here is a quick recap of the puzzle mechanic:

• Find the Mayan pillar and climb to the top
• Press the investigation button to activate Eagle Vision
• A glowing white pattern appears on the ground below
• Highlighted rocks, pillars, or ruins show you what the pattern needs to match
• Rotate and scale the pattern until it lines up
• When correct, a dig spot glows on the ground
• Climb down, walk to the spot, and interact to dig up the Mayan Stone

The puzzle resets every time you approach the stele, so there is no partial progress saved. Work piece by piece rather than spinning the whole pattern at once and you will solve it fast every time.

Also, stele markers only appear on your map after you sync the viewpoint in that region. If a marker is missing somewhere, check that you have visited the local viewpoint first.

Why Collecting Both Misteriosa Stones Matters

You need all 16 Mayan Stones to complete the Mayan Mysteries quest and open the locked door in Tulum. The rewards are well worth it:

• Mayan Outfit – Legendary cosmetic outfit (no gameplay effect in Resynced)
• Yax Tun Pendant – Legendary trinket that absorbs all incoming gunshots, making you immune to bullet damage while wearing it

The Yax Tun Pendant is especially useful during boarding sequences and late-game combat where enemies with pistols and muskets are a constant threat. Getting both Misteriosa stones in one visit brings you two steps closer to that reward.

Note: The Long Bay stele cannot be accessed until you begin Sequence 10 and unlock The Observatory main quest. Isla Providencia is also gated until Sequence 08. Do not worry about these – they will unlock naturally as you progress the story.

What to Do After Collecting All 16 Mayan Stones

Once you have all 16 stones, travel to Tulum in the Conttoyor region. The Mayan Outfit quest marker sits on the west side of the map.

1. Approach the sealed Mayan door
2. Interact with it and select “Place Stone”
3. The door opens and reveals a pathway inside the temple
4. Complete the short platforming section inside
5. Reach the altar at the top and collect your rewards

You get the Mayan Outfit and the Yax Tun Pendant. The pendant is the real prize here – it makes you completely immune to gunfire, which changes how you approach combat for the rest of the game.
