    By Sacheen · October 1, 2026 · 10 min read
Control Resonant The Party Wont Stop Quest

The Party Won’t Stop is a side quest in Control Resonant set in the West Incursion Zone. Dylan stumbles upon an apartment party where an Altered karaoke machine is forcing a group of civilians to dance without rest. The only way to free them is to grab the mic and nail every lyric.

This guide covers the quest location, how to reach the rooftop entrance, and all nine correct karaoke answers in order — including how to unlock the Be What You Want to Be trophy, which is the only missable achievement in the game.

    TL;DR

    • The Party Won’t Stop is a side quest in the southwest corner of the West Incursion Zone.
    • It triggers automatically when you walk near the music — no NPC needed to start it.
    • You need the Shift ability to reach the rooftop entrance of the apartment building.
    • Interact with the karaoke machine and pick all nine correct lyrics to save every partygoer.
    • A wrong answer kills a dancer. Getting everyone out alive unlocks the Be What You Want to Be trophy — the only missable achievement in Control Resonant.
    • Rewards: Untapped Bar Blade (artifact), Varsity Jacket (outfit), Talent Point +1.
    • If you fail, reload your last checkpoint and try again. Do not continue with a dead civilian if you want the trophy.

The Party Won’t Stop Quest Location

This quest is in the southwest corner of the West Incursion Zone. You do not need to speak to anyone to start it. Just walk close enough to hear music coming from an apartment building. The sound of it and a purple glow from the windows are the key signs. As soon as you get near, The Party Won’t Stop is added to your quest log automatically under Side Stories.

The quest is listed under the apartment building on the in-game map with the label “Singing Reported!” near the marker.

    Requirements Before Starting

You need the Shift ability before you can enter the building. The front door of the apartment block is not accessible. The only way in is through the rooftop, and reaching that rooftop requires Shift to traverse a vertical surface.

If you have not unlocked Shift yet, complete The Incursion Fault first. See our full guide on how to get the Shift ability for the complete walkthrough.

How to Enter the Apartment Building Control Resonant

How to Enter the Apartment Building

The front entrance of the apartment building is locked. You cannot enter from street level. Here is how to get in:

    • Go to the street directly east of the quest marker.
    • From the higher elevated road, use Shift to walk up the vertical surface and jump across to the apartment rooftop.
    • On the roof, you will see dead civilians lying near the entrance. Interact with one if you want some Source.
    • Go through the rooftop door to enter the building.
    • Head downstairs and you will find the party in full swing — people dancing, no way to stop.

What Is Happening at the Party?

The karaoke machine inside the apartment is an Altered Item. It has put the partygoers into a trance and forced them to dance without stopping. They cannot leave. The machine will not stop on its own.

The only way to break the curse is to step up to the machine and finish the song yourself. Dylan takes the mic, and the game presents a series of lyric choices. Pick the correct ones and everyone lives. Pick the wrong ones and people die.

All Correct Karaoke Answers — The Party Won’t Stop

The machine sings a line and leaves the final word for you to complete. The rule is simple: pick the lyric that rhymes with the last word of the machine’s line.

There are nine prompts in total. A wrong answer kills a dancer immediately. The quest will still finish if someone dies, but you will not earn the trophy. If you make a mistake, immediately pause and reload your last checkpoint — do not let the song finish with a dead civilian.

Here are all nine correct answers in order:

    • Prompt 1: …Gasoline (Right)
    • Prompt 2: …Stress (Left)
    • Prompt 3: …So Fleeting (Right)
    • Prompt 4: …Too Long (Up)
    • Prompt 5: …Move (Left)
    • Prompt 6: …Fear (Down)
    • Prompt 7: …Everything (Right)
    • Prompt 8: …Higher and Higher (Up)
    • Prompt 9: …Shout (Right)

Some of the wrong options shown alongside these correct choices include: …Work, …So Short, …Dance, …Party, …Live, …Joy, …Money, …Hope, …The Worst, …Tough Times, …More and More, …Lower and Lower, …Less and Less, Laugh, Cry, and Yell. Do not pick any of these.

The answers appear on a dialogue wheel. Later prompts in the song appear under a timer, so it helps to know the answers beforehand. The rhyme rule works for all nine — if you understand the pattern, you do not need to memorize every option.

Be What You Want to Be Trophy — The Only Missable Achievement

Be What You Want to Be is a bronze trophy in Control Resonant. It is the only missable achievement in the entire game. It unlocks shortly after the song ends, provided every partygoer survived.

A wrong lyric kills a dancer. Even one death locks you out of the trophy for that run. The Side Story quest itself will still complete, but the trophy will not pop. The notification appears in the top-right corner as “Be What You Want to Be / Trophy earned!” alongside the quest completion banner.

What to do if you fail:

    • Pause the game immediately after picking the wrong lyric.
    • Go to Settings > Load Game and reload your last checkpoint before entering the apartment.
    • Play through the karaoke sequence again with the correct answers above.
    • Do not let the song finish with a dead civilian — the trophy will not unlock retroactively.

This trophy is currently one of the rarer unlocks in Control Resonant on PlayStation, sitting at around 12% unlock rate. That means a lot of players are either not finding the quest or not knowing the answers ahead of time. Having this guide open before you start the song makes saving everyone much easier.

    The Party Won’t Stop Rewards

When the song finishes and the karaoke machine shuts down, the dancers are freed. You receive the following regardless of how many civilians survived:

    • Untapped Bar Blade — An artifact that grants a Survival bonus and slowly regenerates health while a Summon is nearby. Useful if you use summons in your build.
    • Varsity Jacket — An outfit (top layer) for Dylan. Counts toward outfit collection trophies.
    • Talent Point +1

If all nine answers were correct and no civilian died, you also receive:

    • Be What You Want to Be — Bronze trophy/achievement.

What Happened to Greg? (Post-Quest Dialogue)

After completing the karaoke song, you can speak to one of the surviving partygoers. Through dialogue, you find out that a man named Greg picked up the karaoke machine at a police auction for his farewell party. The machine turned out to be an Altered Item. Dylan warns everyone not to touch it again, and that is the end of the story. A fun and strange piece of lore — very much in line with the Control universe.

    Tips Before Starting This Quest

    • Save before entering. Quit to the title screen or reload a save before you go through the rooftop door. This gives you a clean checkpoint to reload if something goes wrong during the song.
    • Memorize the answers first. Later prompts have a time limit. Having all nine answers ready before you interact with the machine removes the risk of running out of time.
    • Do not continue after a death. A wrong answer is not a soft fail — it is a hard lock on the trophy. Reload immediately.
    • The quest is in the southwest corner of the West Incursion Zone. Activate the map pylon in the area first so you can navigate more easily.
    • Shift is required. You cannot enter the building without it. If you are in the West Incursion Zone and do not have Shift yet, check out our Shift ability guide before attempting this quest.
