TL;DR
- Talk to the nun at Reventine Monastery to get the Ulzok’s Hideout document
- Examine the document in your inventory to unlock the map waypoint
- Head south of the monastery and find the shimmering rock cave
- Use Focused Force Palm (unlocked in Chapter 4) to break the rocks
- Loot the chest for Plate Gloves of the Cursed Soul, a Palmer Pill, and 3 extra inventory slots
The Hidden Space of the Heart is one of those faction quests in Crimson Desert that trips people up. Not because it’s hard, but because it requires a specific skill most players haven’t fully figured out yet.
You show up at the cave. There’s a glowing rock blocking the entrance. You swing your sword. Nothing happens. You try again. Still nothing.
Here’s exactly what you need to do.
How to Start The Hidden Space of the Heart Quest
Before heading to the hideout, you need to trigger the quest first.
After capturing Ulzok during the bounty section introduced by Yann, turn him in. The quest won’t appear immediately. It shows up later as a random event you overhear while traveling through the world.
Important: Don’t fast travel everywhere. If you’re skipping across the map constantly, you can miss the random trigger entirely. Walk or ride through areas manually to catch these side events.
Once the quest is active, head to Reventine Monastery. Speak with the nun inside. She will hand you a document called Ulzok’s Hideout.
Open your inventory, go to the Documents section, select the file, and choose Examine. This places a permanent waypoint on your map pointing to the cave entrance south of the monastery.
Where to Find Ulzok’s Hideout

Follow the waypoint south of Reventine Monastery into the cliffside area. You’ll spot a cave entrance blocked by shimmering, glowing rocks.
These aren’t regular rocks. Normal attacks do nothing. The game is telling you that you need a specific type of skill to move forward.
How to Enter Ulzok’s Hideout — Use Focused Force Palm
The skill you need is Focused Force Palm. You typically unlock this during or on the way to completing a mission in Chapter 4. If you don’t have it yet, continue the main story.
Once you have the skill, here’s how to use it on the shimmering rocks:

Step 1 — Enter Focus Mode
- Controller (PS5/Xbox): Press L3 and R3 at the same time (click both thumbsticks together)
- PC (Keyboard): Press the X key
Kliff will shift into a focused stance and the screen will look slightly different. That means Focus Mode is active.
Step 2 — Use Focused Force Palm
Face the center of the shimmering rocks.
- Controller: Press R3 (click the right thumbstick)
- PC: Click the Middle Mouse Button
Kliff will slam his palm forward and shatter the rocks instantly. The cave entrance is now open.

What’s Inside Ulzok’s Hideout
The cave is small but the loot is worth it. Head straight to the faction chest at the back.
Chest Loot:
- Plate Gloves of the Cursed Soul — 15 Attack, 7 Defense, Refinement 2, Abyss Gear Perks: Defense +3 and Fire Resistance Lv 1
There’s also a Palmer Pill sitting on a grave right next to the chest. Don’t miss it. This item lets you revive automatically with 30% health when you die. It’s rare and extremely useful in tough boss fights.
Quest Completion Reward:
- 3 extra permanent inventory slots — This alone makes the quest worth doing early.

Focused Force Palm Not Working? Try These Fixes

Focus meter is empty. The skill uses your yellow Focus bar. If it’s drained, the input won’t trigger. Drink a restorative tea or engage in some light combat to build it back up before trying again.
Bad positioning. Stand back a little further from the rocks. The strike animation needs room to connect with the center of the barrier.
Waypoint not showing up. Go back to your inventory and Examine the Ulzok’s Hideout document again. Sometimes the quest needs the document to be actively read before the waypoint activates on the map.
Skill not unlocked. Double-check your skill tree. If you haven’t reached the Chapter 4 milestone that teaches you palm focus skills, you’ll need to progress the main story first.

Things to Know Before You Go
The quest can soft-lock if you fast travel too much. The trigger is a random overheard event while exploring. Spend time riding through the world between main quests to catch side content like this.
Focused Force Palm works on enemies too. It’s a powerful posture-breaker and shield destroyer in combat, not just a puzzle tool. If you haven’t been using it on enemies, start now. Our advanced combat guide covers this skill in action.
The 3 inventory slots are permanent. You won’t see a flashy reward screen, but your max carry count increases automatically when you complete the quest. Check your inventory capacity before and after to confirm.
The Palmer Pill is quick-slot material. Keep it equipped in a quick slot during boss fights. Getting a free revive at 30% health in the middle of a hard encounter can completely change the outcome. Speaking of which, our boss locations guide has everything you need to track down the toughest fights in the game.
