The Tariv Cloth Armor Set is one of the better cloth options in Crimson Desert, built around a sorcerer aesthetic with solid stats and good secondary bonuses. The Gloves alone are standout — they come with Attack Speed Level 3 at max refinement, which pairs extremely well with fast, aggressive combat styles.
Getting the full set is not as simple as walking into a shop. There are two ways to do it, and both involve building trust with specific merchants before you can access what you need. Here is everything you need to know.
What Is the Tariv Cloth Armor Set?
The Tariv Cloth Armor Set is described as attire made by the sorcerers of Tariv, a small town north of Demeniss. The lore notes that Tariv is home to sorcerers with mystical abilities who study to understand and safely use their own power.
The set is a T4 Cloth Armor collection for Kliff. It includes four pieces — the Tariv Cloth Attire (chest), Tariv Cloth Cloak (shoulders), Tariv Cloth Gloves, and Tariv Cloth Boots.
The stats are what make it interesting. The Gloves offer 27 Attack and 12 Defense with Attack Speed Level 3 at full refinement — one of the best attack speed bonuses available on gloves in the game. The Boots similarly give 27 Attack and 12 Defense with Movement Speed Level 3, making them excellent for builds that prioritize mobility and damage output together. The Cloak provides 12 Defense and Ice Resistance Level 3, which is useful in colder regions.
For players building around elemental attacks and imbue elements or looking at a critical rate build, the attack speed from the Tariv Gloves is one of the best multipliers you can get from armor alone.
Method 1: Buy from Elise at the Tariv Tailor Shop
This is the more straightforward method but it comes with limits. Elise runs the Tailor’s Shop in the town of Tariv, which is directly north of Demeniss and west of the Denn River. Look for the shop with a scissors signboard hanging near the front door.
By default, Elise only sells the Tariv Cloth Gloves and the Tariv Cloth Cloak. The Boots and the Chest Piece are locked behind her trust rating. You need to max her trust to 100 before those two pieces become available in her shop.
To increase Elise’s trust, greet her daily and bring her gifts. Once her trust hits 100, the full set appears for purchase.
If you only need the Gloves and Cloak quickly and are not in a rush for the full set, this is the easiest way to grab those two pieces fast. For the remaining pieces, either push her trust or use Method 2 below.
Method 2: Craft the Full Set Using the Cloth Armors of the World Vol. 4 Book
This method gives you access to the full crafting recipe and lets you produce every piece of the set at any Smithy. It requires going through Craig, a Back Alley Shop merchant in Odeck.
Step 1: Travel to Odeck
Odeck is located in the far top left corner of the map, north of Silver Wolf Mountain and northwest of Pailune. The fastest way to get there is to fast travel to the Silver Wolf Mountain Abyss Nexus and then head north to reach the town.
Step 2: Find Craig in the Back Alley
Once you arrive at Odeck, make your way to the back alley near the bridge. Craig operates a Back Alley Shop there. He is not in a standard shop building — look along the alley for his stall.
Step 3: Max Craig’s Trust to 100
Craig will not sell you the crafting book until you have reached maximum trust with him. The fastest way to build his trust is to gift him Diamonds or Coin Pouches. Keep gifting until his trust hits 100.

Step 4: Buy the Cloth Armors of the World Vol. 4
Once Craig’s trust is maxed, open his Buy menu and scroll down to find the Cloth Armors of the World, Vol. 4. It costs 63 Silver. Purchase it and read it to learn the recipes.
Step 5: Craft the Tariv Cloth Armor Set at a Smithy
With the recipe learned, go to any Smithy and open the Crafting menu. Tab over to the Cloth Armor section and you will find the Tariv Cloth Attire, Tariv Cloth Gloves, and Tariv Cloth Boots available to craft.
Note that the book also unlocks a variant of the Grey Wolf Cloth Gloves and a variant of the Grey Wolf Leather Armor set as bonus recipes, so the purchase is good value beyond just the Tariv pieces.
Cloth Armor crafting uses Cloth Pieces and Fleece as primary materials. You can purchase both from the Provisioner’s Shop in most towns, or collect them as loot from enemies and camps.
Which Method Should You Use?
If you just need the Gloves and Cloak quickly, head to Elise in Tariv. Those two pieces are available immediately without any trust requirement and you can grab them on your first visit.
If you want the full set including the Boots and Chest Piece, and you do not want to grind Elise’s trust over multiple days, the crafting route through Craig is more reliable. You invest time into Craig’s trust once, unlock a recipe book that gives you multiple sets, and then craft everything directly at a Smithy whenever you need it.

Tips for Using the Tariv Cloth Armor Set
The Tariv Cloth Gloves are the standout piece of this set. Attack Speed Level 3 at full refinement applies universally across all attack types — light attacks, heavy attacks, and skill-based attacks all benefit. This makes them valuable in almost any build, not just cloth-focused setups.
If you are running a build that chains consecutive hits, the attack speed bonus stacks extremely well with the Relentless Abyss Gear found on weapons like the Bringer of Balance. Faster attacks mean more frequent Relentless activations and a quicker damage ramp.
The Tariv Cloth Boots with Movement Speed Level 3 are useful for builds that value mobility, though they do carry a Movement Speed penalty as a downside at certain levels — standard for cloth footwear in Crimson Desert.
