Finding all 5 foxes in Deltarune Chapter 5 is one of the most rewarding things you can do in the Flower Castle section. Aqua only asks you to bring her three foxes to progress the main story, but the other two are hidden nearby and easy to miss. Collect all five and a locked door behind Aqua opens up, leading to a secret room with a Pink Coin inside. That coin goes toward the Mystery Key needed for the Chapter 5 secret boss fight. This guide covers every fox location in order.
- Aqua needs 3 foxes to let you pass. All 5 are needed to open the secret door.
- All five foxes are found in the same area — near the Second Diner inside the Flower Castle.
- Fox 1 is hidden among the floating paw projectiles to the right of Aqua.
- Fox 2 is a loose fox running around the main Terracotta statue room.
- Fox 3 is disguised as a Terracotta statue in the bottom-right corner of that room.
- Fox 4 is behind a paper curtain in the upper-right side room — use the switch to reveal it.
- Fox 5 is disguised as Yellow in the upper-left side room.
- Interact with the locked door after collecting all five to claim the Pink Coin.
Why You Need All 5 Foxes
When you reach the Second Diner area inside the Flower Castle, Aqua blocks your path and demands you bring her three foxes. Doing so lets you continue the main story. However, there is a locked door directly behind Aqua that only opens once you have collected all five foxes.
Behind that locked door is a secret room containing a single fox. When you interact with it, the fox transforms into a treasure chest holding a Pink Coin. You need 10 Pink Coins total to buy the Mystery Key from the Cliffs Shop, which is what gets you into the Chapter 5 secret boss fight. Every fox counts.
The good news is you do not need to search the entire chapter. All five foxes are in the same area, right around the Second Diner and the connected Terracotta statue room. None of them require backtracking across the Dark World.
How to Reach the Fox Area
Progress through the Flower Castle until you reach the Second Diner location. Take the door to the left of the diner. You will arrive in a corridor with two large fox statues standing in front of a room. This is your starting point for all five foxes. Everything you need is within a few connected rooms from this spot.
All 5 Fox Locations
Fox 1 — Hidden Among the Floating Paw Projectiles

Do not enter the statue room yet. Instead, go right from Aqua, past the paper walls. You will see a long line of floating paw-shaped projectiles moving up and down, which you would normally dodge to reach the treasure chest at the far end.
The trick here is that one of those paws is not a real projectile — it is a fox in disguise. Head past the first set of four paws carefully. Further along, behind the second paper board, look for a spot where the gap between the last two paws is noticeably wider than the rest. The paw just to the left of the visible one is the fox. Stand in that wider gap and wait, or press X or A to grab it. Carry the fox back toward Aqua to bank your first one.
Fox 2 — Running Loose in the Terracotta Statue Room

Now enter the main statue room through the door beside the NPC. Inside you will find a large room filled with Terracotta figurine models. One of them is a live fox running around the room freely. Chase it around the room. When you get close, it will run away and weave between the statues. Keep following it and eventually it will give up and let you catch it. This is one of the three story-required foxes so most players find it naturally.
Be careful when chasing it. Some of the Terracotta models in the room are active enemies. If you interact with one while hunting the fox, you may trigger a fight. You can use the watering can to deal with them so they do not interrupt the chase.
Fox 3 — Disguised as a Terracotta Statue in the Bottom-Right Corner

Stay in the same Terracotta statue room and head to the bottom-right corner. Look at the bottom row of models along the edge. Find the statue that is second from the right in that bottom row. Get behind it and press X or A to push it off the edge of the stage.
As the statue falls, it reveals itself as a fox and jumps into your pocket. Push carefully. Only that specific second-to-last statue hides a fox. Pushing the wrong ones does nothing.
Fox 4 — Behind the Paper Curtain in the Upper-Right Side Room

From the main Terracotta room, go to the upper-right (north-east) corner and pass through the door there. Inside you will find a chamber with a paper curtain hiding a group of silhouettes that all look like foxes jumping around behind it.
There is a blue switch on the floor in front of the stage. Step on it to lift the curtain and reveal which silhouette is the real fox. Once the curtain drops, grab the correct one from the side of the stage. It may take a couple of attempts since the other silhouettes can get in the way. Keep trying until you have the real fox.
Fox 5 — Disguised as Yellow in the Upper-Left Side Room

Return to the main Terracotta room and go to the upper-left (north-west) corner. You will notice a statue blocking the doorway here. Push it aside to clear the entrance, then head through into the side room.
Walk up to the paper screen at the back of the room and interact with it. Yellow will appear — but this is not actually Yellow. It is a fox wearing Yellow’s disguise. Interact with it to catch the fifth and final fox.
How to Open the Secret Door and Get the Pink Coin
With all five foxes collected, head back to the corridor where Aqua is standing. The locked door behind her will now open automatically when you interact with it. Go inside.
The secret room contains a single fox hopping around happily. Walk up and interact with it. The fox immediately transforms into a treasure chest. Open the chest to receive a Pink Coin.
This Pink Coin is one of 19 scattered across Chapter 5. You need 10 of them to buy the Mystery Key from the shop in the Cliffs area, which unlocks the locked pink door near the top of the Flower Castle where the Chapter 5 secret boss is found. Finding all five foxes is one of the more reliable ways to build your Pink Coin count early.
Tips for Catching the Foxes
- Deal with active Terracotta enemies before chasing Fox 2. Some models in the statue room are real enemies. Getting into an unwanted fight while chasing the loose fox wastes time. Clear the threats first.
- Do not rush past the paw projectiles on your way to the chest. Fox 1 is easy to miss if you are focused on dodging to reach the treasure. Slow down and look for the wider gap between paws.
- Push only the second-to-last statue in the bottom row for Fox 3. Pushing any other statue does nothing. Count carefully from the right before pressing the button.
- Stand on the switch before grabbing Fox 4. The curtain needs to be lifted first or you cannot tell which silhouette is real. Always hit the switch before reaching for the fox.
- You do not need to deliver foxes to Aqua one at a time. Collect all five first and then interact with the locked door. The door opens as soon as your total reaches five, regardless of how many you have handed over.
What Comes After the Fox Section
Once you hand Aqua the required three foxes and pass her checkpoint, the story continues deeper into the Flower Castle. This leads into the Yellow and Blue encounter, one of the most unique boss fights in the chapter. If you need help with that, our guide on how to beat Yellow and Blue in Deltarune Chapter 5 covers all four trial answers, every culprit, and the correct evidence for each case.
