Flowery Dollars in Deltarune Chapter 5 look like a joke at first. Ralsei tells you that taking infinite money would ruin the economy, so you can only grab one dollar at a time from Flowery’s chest. Then when you try to leave, the game reveals they are not even real Dark Dollars. Most players assume they are worthless. They are not. Flowery Dollars have several actual uses throughout the chapter, including buying drinks, unlocking special character conversations, getting hint information for missing Pink Coins, and purchasing the Flowery Scarf after the secret boss fight.
- Flowery Dollars are a separate currency from Dark Dollars. They cannot be used in regular shops.
- They are accepted at the drink dispenser inside the Flower Castle diner.
- Spend 20 Flowery Dollars at the diner table to trigger Flower Tea Time conversations.
- After beating the secret boss, pay 50 Flowery Dollars to Ferroll for Pink Coin location hints.
- Buy the Flowery Scarf for 1 Flowery Dollar in the secret room after the secret boss fight.
- Drinks bought with Flowery Dollars can be sold at the same dispenser to convert them into Dark Dollars.
Where to Get Flowery Dollars
The first time you encounter Flowery Dollars is when Flowery temporarily joins your party and leaves a chest to the left of the room. He claims it contains infinite money. Ralsei immediately objects, saying that infinite money would ruin the economy, so the chest is limited to one dollar per interaction.
You can open the chest as many times as you want, collecting one Flowery Dollar each time. There is no limit on how many you take. When you eventually leave the room, a note appears telling you that the dollars you collected were not Dark Dollars but Flowery Dollars instead. They go into a separate wallet and cannot be used at regular shops.
Collect as many as you can while the chest is available. The chest disappears after you save and reload past that point. If you plan to experience every Tea Time conversation and buy every available item, stock up while you have the chance.

Use 1 — The Drink Dispenser in the Flower Castle Diner
The first real spending opportunity comes when you reach the Flower Castle. Head into the room on the right of the Foyer to find a diner. Inside, there is a drink dispenser that only accepts Flowery Dollars. Regular Dark Dollars do not work here.
The dispenser sells GreenTea and OrangeJuice — named after the flower characters Green and Orange, which Susie humorously misunderstands in the chapter’s dialogue. Both drinks restore roughly 16% TP in addition to their other healing effects. They are useful to stock up on before major fights, particularly the Flowery boss fight at the end of the chapter.
These drinks are also worth buying even if you do not plan to use them in combat, because of one extra trick covered below.
Use 2 — Converting Flowery Dollars into Dark Dollars
There is a hidden conversion trick most players never notice. If you buy a drink from the dispenser using Flowery Dollars and then sell it back at the same machine, you receive Dark Dollars in return instead of Flowery Dollars. The exchange rate works out to roughly 1 Flowery Dollar converting to 3.7 Dark Dollars.
This means Flowery Dollars are not completely isolated from your main economy. If you have more Flowery Dollars than you know what to do with and need Dark Dollars for regular shop purchases, run them through the dispenser to convert them. It is not the most efficient use of the currency, but it is a useful option if your main funds are running low before a tough section.

Use 3 — Flower Tea Time at the Diner Table
Inside the same Flower Castle diner, there is an empty table in the middle of the room. Interact with it to trigger Flower Tea Time. Each session costs 20 Flowery Dollars and brings characters like Aqua, Seth, and others to sit with the party for a short break.
Every Tea Time event is completely unique. Each one features its own dialogue, character interactions, and personality moments that the main story does not have time for. These scenes are entirely optional but are some of the funniest and most character-rich moments in the chapter.
New Tea Time conversations unlock as you progress through the chapter by defeating each flower boss. If you want to see every single one, return to the cafe just before the Flowery boss fight. That timing gives you access to the full set that is available on the normal route. A couple of additional Tea Time scenes are locked behind the secret boss route and only become available if you defeat Pink.
Since each session costs 20 Flowery Dollars, plan ahead. If you want to see all conversations, make sure you have collected enough from Flowery’s chest early in the chapter.
Use 4 — Ferroll’s Pink Coin Hint Service
After you defeat the Chapter 5 secret boss, a character named Ferroll can appear in the Cliffs area. Find Ferroll in the secret boss fight room and speak to them. For 50 Flowery Dollars, Ferroll will tell you how many Pink Coins you are missing from each area of the chapter.
The hint is broad rather than specific. Ferroll tells you something like “4 in Garden” rather than giving you exact locations. But if you are stuck trying to reach the ten-coin total needed for the Mystery Key, or collecting all nineteen coins for full completion, knowing which areas still have coins left is a huge time-saver. It narrows down your search considerably without doing all the work for you.
This service only becomes available after defeating the secret boss, so it is a late-chapter option rather than something you can use early. Save a healthy amount of Flowery Dollars if you are going for full Pink Coin collection.
Use 5 — The Flowery Scarf
The final use for Flowery Dollars is the strangest. After defeating the secret boss and selecting your three pieces of gear from the flower-themed equipment room, you are led into another room where Flowery is waiting. There you can pick up the Flowery Scarf for just 1 Flowery Dollar.
The Flowery Scarf has 70 in all its stats, making it absurdly powerful on paper. The catch is that Ralsei refuses to equip it because he cannot stand Flowery. So despite being technically the strongest piece of equipment in the chapter, it cannot actually be used. It sits in your inventory as a very expensive joke.
Whether it will have any purpose in future chapters remains to be seen. For now, it is worth grabbing for 1 Flowery Dollar just to see the scene and have it in your collection.
What Flowery Dollars Cannot Do
Flowery Dollars are completely separate from Dark Dollars. You cannot spend them at regular item shops, and they do not carry over between the Flower Kingdom’s economy and normal shops. The only places that accept them are the drink dispenser, the Tea Time table, Ferroll’s hint service, and the Flowery Scarf purchase.
They also do not affect Pink Coin collection or the Mystery Key. Those require actual Pink Coins, not Flowery Dollars. How Many Flowery Dollars Should You Collect?
If you want to do everything the currency offers, here is a rough target to aim for.
- Tea Time conversations cost 20 Flowery Dollars each. There are multiple sessions available on the normal route, so budget at least 100 to 120 for the full set.
- Ferroll’s Pink Coin hint costs 50 Flowery Dollars after the secret boss.
- The Flowery Scarf costs 1 Flowery Dollar.
- Any extra can be converted to Dark Dollars via the drink dispenser if needed.
Collecting around 200 Flowery Dollars from Flowery’s chest at the start covers all of this comfortably, with leftover to convert. The chest interaction is fast, so spending a couple of minutes tapping through it is worth it.
