Deltarune: How to Find All Egg Rooms – Every Chapter Guide

Deltarune Egg Rooms are hidden in every chapter. Here is exactly how to find all five Eggs across Chapter 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5.

TL;DR

  • Every Deltarune chapter has one hidden Egg Room — five total across all chapters.
  • Eggs have no combat use but are fan-favorite collectibles tied to a running mystery.
  • Chapter 1 and 2 Eggs require random room transitions — you need luck and patience.
  • Chapter 3 has the most complex unlock steps involving multiple puzzle chains.
  • Chapter 4 is in the stained-glass hallway and also involves repeated room transitions.
  • Chapter 5 starts in the wheat field past the Cliffs shop and involves the Annoying Dog.
  • Some Eggs are permanently missable if you progress too far — read the warnings below.

Deltarune Egg Rooms are one of the most beloved secrets in the game. Every chapter hides exactly one Egg in an obscure location that most players will never find on their own. The Eggs do not boost your stats or help in battle, but they are part of a long-running mystery that fans believe will pay off when all chapters are complete. This guide covers how to find all Egg Rooms in Deltarune, from Chapter 1 all the way through Chapter 5.

What Are Eggs in Deltarune?

Eggs are secret key items found in hidden rooms scattered across each Dark World chapter. They are given to you by a mysterious cloaked figure known as the Forgotten Man, who always hides behind a tree. The Eggs stay in Kris’s inventory between chapters, and you can store them in specific locations in Hometown for safekeeping.

Each chapter’s Egg requires a completely different method to find. Some rely on luck and repetition. Others require you to follow multi-step puzzle chains. None of them are signposted by the game in any obvious way.

One important note: collecting certain Eggs will block specific PlayStation trophies from unlocking. Keep that in mind if you are going for a full trophy run on PlayStation.

Chapter 1 Egg Room Location – Scarlet Forest

The Chapter 1 Egg is found in the Scarlet Forest during the second half of the chapter. You must collect it before defeating the final boss. Once the chapter is cleared, the room becomes permanently inaccessible.

How to Find the Chapter 1 Egg

  1. Reach the area with the giant birds and the bell tower in the Dark World.
  2. Locate the room with the bell and the adjacent room with the Starwalker.
  3. Walk back and forth between these two rooms repeatedly.
  4. There is roughly a 2 percent chance per transition that the Egg Room will trigger.
  5. Keep going — it can take 20 or more attempts before the room appears.
  6. When you arrive, you will be facing upward. Walk behind the tree and talk to the Forgotten Man.
  7. He will ask if you think he is happy to see you. Answer Yes to receive the Egg.

Warning: Do not defeat the Chapter 1 final boss before grabbing this Egg. The room disappears after the chapter ends.

Where to Store the Chapter 1 Egg

After returning to the Light World, head to Asgore’s house and open his refrigerator. The Egg will be stored there automatically. Checking the fridge afterward shows the message “There are two Eggs inside.”

Chapter 2 Egg Room Location – Cyber City

The Chapter 2 Egg uses the same random room transition mechanic as Chapter 1. This time it is in Cyber City’s dumpster area.

How to Find the Chapter 2 Egg

  1. In the oncoming traffic section of Cyber City, head down and left until you see dog signs on the wall.
  2. You will enter a room and get pushed back to the dumpster area with tree graffiti on the wall.
  3. Walk back and forth between the dumpster room and the tunnel room, spamming direction inputs.
  4. Keep going until you get transported to the Egg Room.
  5. The process is the same as Chapter 1 — grab the Egg from behind the tree.

Where to Store the Chapter 2 Egg

After returning to the Light World with Susie, head to Sans’ shop and interact with the big basket of eggs. The Egg goes in automatically. Susie will comment that Kris has “reverse-stolen” it.

Chapter 3 Egg Room Location – TV World

Chapter 3 has the most steps of any Egg hunt in the game. Every step must be done in order. You also cannot get this Egg if you have already obtained the Shadow Mantle, so do it before the final area.

How to Find the Chapter 3 Egg

  1. Advance through the TV World and complete Tenna’s quiz segments.
  2. Solve the river crossing mini-game by having Susie throw a block through the bushes.
  3. Head to the Green Room and find the suspicious NPC. When prompted, choose Cheater then Nowhere.
  4. You will be teleported to Nowhere. Cross the bridge and press the button at the end.
  5. Talk to the screen NPC multiple times until a wardrobe appears. Open it to receive a Trip Ticket.
  6. Head to a Warp Door and select the Goulden Sam destination.
  7. Go left behind the door in the Stealth Zone and knock over a bin until you see a Ribbick enemy.
  8. Open the ACT menu and press the left arrow key instead of selecting a normal action.
  9. You will be transported to the Forgotten Isle. Walk behind the tree and talk to the Forgotten Man.
  10. Promise to remember him when prompted. Follow his dialogue and you will receive the Egg.

Warning: You cannot store the Chapter 3 Egg in a Light World location since Chapter 3 has no Light World segment. Temmie will keep track of it for you instead. Check the desk in your classroom at the start of Chapter 4 to see all stored Eggs so far.

Chapter 4 Egg Room Location – The Sanctuaries

Chapter 4’s Egg is hidden in a long hallway of stained-glass windows inside the second Sanctuary. Unlike Chapters 1 and 2, reaching the correct window requires a bit of navigation rather than pure luck, though you still need to repeat a room transition once inside.

How to Find the Chapter 4 Egg

  1. Enter the 2nd Sanctuary and proceed right after Susie rushes ahead to see the prophecy.
  2. You will reach a long hallway filled with identical stained-glass windows.
  3. Look carefully — one window looks slightly different. It has an egg shape at the top instead of a circle. It is located at least four NPCs deep into the hallway.
  4. Walk into that window. You will be transported to a small room with a bookshelf and an Organikk.
  5. Keep leaving and re-entering this room until you get sent to the hospital-like Egg Room.
  6. Find the middle door with a tree drawing on it and enter it.
  7. Walk through the dark room responding to prompts. Position yourself near the center until dialogue appears.
  8. A brief scene plays and you will automatically receive the Egg.

Missed it? If you passed the hallway, head to the 3rd Sanctuary. In the room where shadowy ball creatures spawn as hazards, walk off the right edge of the path to reveal a hidden crystal route. Follow it to find an Organikk who will open a door back to the hallway.

Chapter 5 Egg Room Location – The Cliffs Wheat Field

Chapter 5’s Egg is the most unique of the five. It does not start with a hidden doorway. Instead, the trigger is a wheat field past the shop in the Cliffs area. You need to have the Petal Feather before attempting this. See our guide on the Chapter 5 egg location for more detail on each step.

How to Find the Chapter 5 Egg

  1. Obtain the Petal Feather by defeating the Aqua boss. This unlocks the 2D platforming sections.
  2. Head to the Cliffs area. Go right from the shop until you reach a wheat field with a Tropical Starwalker enemy firing at you.
  3. Defeat or avoid the enemy, then pass through the Torii Gate at the end.
  4. Start cutting all the wheat in the field. Keep harvesting it as you go back and forth.
  5. After the field looks cleared, one single wheat tile will keep respawning. This is the trigger.
  6. Do not stop. Keep cutting that tile repeatedly. It can take many attempts.
  7. Eventually a balloon will appear. Follow the balloon instead of continuing to cut wheat.
  8. The balloon leads you to a room with six flowers and the Annoying Dog.
  9. Watch the dog hover over each flower in order. Copy the dog’s pattern exactly by interacting with the flowers in the same sequence.
  10. A watering can will appear. Pick it up.
  11. Use the watering can on the flower route to the left to open a path to the Egg Room.
  12. Walk left and find the Forgotten Man behind a tree. He will hand you the Egg.

Tip: The single wheat tile that keeps coming back is the game’s signal that you are on the right track. Do not leave the area when you see it. Keep cutting until the balloon appears. Most players give up too early.

Where to Store All the Eggs

  • Chapter 1 Egg: Place in Asgore’s refrigerator in Hometown.
  • Chapter 2 Egg: Place in Sans’ basket at his shop in Hometown.
  • Chapter 3 Egg: No Light World storage — Temmie tracks it automatically.
  • Chapter 4 Egg: No Light World storage — check Temmie’s desk at the start of Chapter 4 to confirm all previous Eggs are tracked.
  • Chapter 5 Egg: Storage details for this chapter are still being confirmed by the community.

Do the Eggs Do Anything?

As of Chapter 5, the Eggs have no direct combat use. They do not boost stats, cannot be used in battle, and do not change your ending. However, they do trigger small, quirky interactions in each chapter and appear to be building toward a larger mystery that fans expect to resolve in the final chapters.

One notable in-game hint comes from Chapter 3, where the Forgotten Man gives Kris a schedule that lines up with the locations of each Egg across all chapters. The Eggs also appear as evidence during the JUDGEMENT ACT in Chapter 5 if you collect the Chapter 5 Egg before facing Blue and Yellow. The description reads: “It’s evidence. You’ll know what it was evidence for when it happens.”

Whether the Eggs tie into Kris’s past, Gaster’s storyline, or something else entirely is still unknown. For now, finding them all is one of Deltarune’s most satisfying hidden challenges.

Tips for Collecting All Eggs

  • Never defeat the Chapter 1 final boss before grabbing the Egg. The room is gone after.
  • Do not get the Shadow Mantle before the Chapter 3 Egg. It locks you out permanently.
  • Be patient with the random room transitions in Chapters 1 and 2. The 2 percent chance means it can take 30 to 50 attempts in some cases.
  • For Chapter 5, do not leave the wheat field when the last tile respawns. Keep cutting until the balloon spawns.
  • Let the Annoying Dog finish its full flower pattern before copying it in the Chapter 5 dog room.
