TL;DR
- The Last Wish has two hidden chests you can grab completely solo every week.
- Both chests are reachable through the Wishing Wall — no encounter clears needed.
- Chest 1 is near the Shuro Chi checkpoint behind a broken bridge.
- Chest 2 is near the Morgeth checkpoint across a large gap and up a tree.
- Chests drop Tier 5 armor only when Last Wish is the featured raid that week.
- Non-featured weeks drop Tier 3 loot — check the weekly rotation before loading in.
- You can run both chests on all three characters for up to six free drops per week.
All Tier 5 Solo Loot Chests in The Last Wish are two of the best free rewards in Destiny 2 right now. Since Monument of Triumph launched on June 9, 2026, hidden raid chests drop Tier 5 armor during featured weeks — and both Last Wish chests can be grabbed completely solo, without a single fight. You do not need a fireteam, a checkpoint bot, or any prior encounter completion. Just the Wishing Wall and some platforming skill. You can download Destiny 2 for free on Steam, PlayStation, Xbox, or through the official Bungie website.
Do Last Wish Secret Chests Drop Tier 5 Loot?
Yes — but only during featured weeks. Here is how it works:
- Featured week: Both hidden chests drop Tier 5 armor with a weekly lockout per character.
- Non-featured week: Both chests drop Tier 3 loot only.
- Check the Director before loading in to confirm whether Last Wish is on the featured rotation that week.
- The featured rotation resets every Tuesday.
There is also one important thing to know before you start farming. The loot from these chests is pulled from gear you have already seen drop in Last Wish. If you have never done an encounter in the raid, the chests will still give you loot — but the pool may be limited. Running a few encounters first unlocks more of the loot table and makes the chests more valuable over time. For a full breakdown of what Last Wish drops, check the Destiny 2 all raid loot tables guide.
How to Access the Last Wish Wishing Wall
Both solo chest routes start at the Wishing Wall, which is found at the very beginning of the Last Wish raid before any encounter. You can reach it solo without a fireteam. Walk past the opening area and follow the path until you enter the large chamber containing the Wishing Wall — a massive stone grid of symbols you can shoot to input wish codes.
Each panel on the grid cycles through 16 symbols when shot: four fish, four snakes, four dragons, and four birds. Shoot the panels to set the pattern for the wish you want. Once the pattern is complete, step on the central floor plate to activate it. A white flash means the wish worked. An orange flash means the pattern was wrong — reset and try again.
Both chest routes use different Wishing Wall codes to teleport your Guardian to specific checkpoints inside the raid. Use the correct code for each chest route below. For a full breakdown of every wish and what each one does, the Destiny 2 Wishing Wall guide covers all known wishes and their codes.
Last Wish Solo Chest 1 Location (Shuro Chi Checkpoint)
This is the easier of the two chests. It requires no gap-crossing or special movement tech. Just solid platforming.

How to Reach Last Wish Chest 1
- Load into the Last Wish raid solo.
- Head to the Wishing Wall and enter the Wish 4 code to teleport to the Shuro Chi checkpoint.
- Step on the floor plate to activate the wish. Your Guardian will be wiped and respawn at Shuro Chi’s door.
- Turn around away from the encounter doors. You will see a large rock and a bridge ahead of you.
- Jump up the mossy rock platforms on the left side of the rock. Keep climbing up toward the bridge above.
- A sword with Eager Edge makes this section significantly faster and easier.
- Walk along the bridge until you reach a broken-off section. You need to jump across the gap to the next part of the bridge.
- After landing on the other side, look down. You will see a rock ledge sticking out below you.
- Drop down carefully onto the ledge. The first hidden chest is sitting right there.
That is it. No enemies to fight, no mechanics to solve. Grab the chest and collect your weekly Tier 5 armor drop.
Last Wish Solo Chest 2 Location (Morgeth Checkpoint)
This chest requires crossing a very large gap from the Morgeth arena. Each class has a different method to make the jump. Read the instructions for your class before you try it.

How to Reach Last Wish Chest 2
- Return to orbit and restart the raid. Delete the Shuro Chi checkpoint from your character first.
- Load back into Last Wish and return to the Wishing Wall.
- Enter the Wish 5 code to teleport to the Morgeth checkpoint.
- Step on the floor plate and respawn at the Morgeth arena entrance.
- Use a Rally Banner to top off your abilities before the jump.
- Turn around from Morgeth to face the large bridge behind you.
- Cross the gap using the method for your class (see below).
- From the other side of the bridge, head into the cave on the right.
- Inside the cave, climb the tree. Keep climbing up and forward.
- At the top, jump up further and continue ahead to find the second hidden chest.
How to Cross the Gap at Morgeth (By Class)
The gap between the Morgeth arena and the chest area is very wide. Each class uses a different method:
- Hunter: Use Shatterskating. Equip an Eager Edge sword and the Stasis Shatterdive Aspect. Activate Shatterdive and swing Eager Edge at the same time to launch forward across the gap.
- Titan: Jump, then use Eager Edge, then activate Thundercrash, then Eager Edge again, then jump, then Eager Edge one final time. Chain these together in quick succession to cover the distance.
- Warlock: Use Wellskating. Activate Well of Radiance on the edge of a surface while pressing Eager Edge (heavy attack) and jumping at the same time. This launches you across the gap.
All three methods take a few attempts to get right. If you miss the landing, you will need to restart the checkpoint. Do not panic — just orbit, reload the checkpoint, and try again.
How Much Loot Can You Get Per Week from Last Wish Chests?
Both chests have a weekly lockout per character. That means each of your three characters can open each chest once per week. Here is the breakdown:
- 2 chests per character × 3 characters = up to 6 Tier 5 armor drops per week, completely solo.
- Each chest run takes roughly 5 to 10 minutes once you know the route.
- You can complete both chests on one character in a single session before switching characters.
This is one of the most efficient free Tier 5 farming methods in the game right now. What Loot Can You Get from Last Wish Secret Chests?
Last Wish secret chests drop armor from the Great Hunt armor set. With Monument of Triumph’s Armor 3.0 system, this set now comes with stat packages tuned for set bonuses. The armor you receive is tied to the loot you have previously unlocked by completing encounters in the raid. If a specific armor piece has never dropped for you from an encounter, you are less likely to see it from the chest.
On featured weeks, Tier 5 armor from these chests has better stat packages that work with the new Armor 3.0 set bonus framework. If you are building a Void Hunter around the Phantom Surge Hunter build, Last Wish chest farming is one of the fastest ways to assemble a Tier 5 armor set tuned for high Melee and Class stats. Last Wish Secret Chest Farming Tips
- Always check the featured raid rotation first. If Last Wish is not featured, you will only get Tier 3 loot. Save your character lockouts for featured weeks unless you need Tier 3 armor for lower-level builds.
- Equip an Eager Edge sword before you load in. It helps with the rock climb for Chest 1 and is essential for the gap cross at Chest 2.
- Do Chest 1 before Chest 2 on each character. Chest 1 does not require deleting any checkpoint. Chest 2 requires starting fresh from orbit. Doing them in order saves time.
- Use a Rally Banner at Morgeth. The jump requires full ability energy for Hunters and Titans in particular. Top off before you attempt the gap.
- Do not complete the Shuro Chi encounter. If you accidentally start the fight, clearing it will lock the checkpoint and prevent future chest resets on that character until the weekly reset.
- Run all three characters back to back. With both chests taking under 10 minutes each, you can complete all six chest openings in about an hour total.
Is It Worth Farming Last Wish Chests Every Week?
Yes, especially right now. Monument of Triumph is Destiny 2’s final content update, which means the current gear ceiling is permanent. Tier 5 armor is the best armor in the game from this point on, and Last Wish secret chests are one of the most accessible ways to stack it up fast without touching endgame content.
Even players who have never attempted a raid encounter can open these chests. The only requirement is reaching the Wishing Wall, which is in the open area before the first encounter. That makes Last Wish chest farming genuinely solo-friendly for new players and returning Guardians who want Tier 5 armor without committing to a full raid team.
If you are working toward the Immortal Title for Monument of Triumph, opening three hidden chests across any raid or dungeon is also a Triumph requirement under the Hidden Treasures category. Both Last Wish chests count, so this farming route doubles as Triumph progress. Check the full Destiny 2 Immortal Title Monument of Triumph guide to see which Triumphs you should prioritise alongside your chest farming runs.
