    TL;DR

    • The 2005 Ford GT is a free Treasure Car — and the highest Performance Index Treasure Car in the entire game at 676.
    • It is parked in a small makeshift car park on the eastern tip of the Nangan region, at the end of an unmarked coastal dirt trail.
    • Drive the easternmost coastal road in Nangan south until the road bends closest to the shore — look for a small dirt path and a yellow sign.
    • At the fork in the dirt track, bear right — the Ford GT is in the clearing at the end overlooking the sea.
    • The drone is almost essential here — the path does not appear on the main road map.
    • Class A, rear-wheel drive, 550 hp supercharged V8, Performance Index of 676, worth 585,000 CR.

The One That Gives Players the Most Trouble

Every Treasure Car guide out there flags this one. The 2005 Ford GT, sitting on a coastal cliff in the Nangan region, has stumped more players than any other Treasure Car in FH6. No labelled event nearby. No obvious landmark. Just an unmarked dirt track off a coastal road, a fork, and a supercar sitting in the trees looking out over the sea.

It is also — fittingly — the most powerful Treasure Car in the game. Class A, Performance Index of 676, a supercharged 5.4L V8 pushing 550 hp. The best free car you can find by pure performance numbers, hiding in the one spot nobody instinctively checks.

This guide will get you straight to it.

If you are still working through the full collection, our Lancia Stratos Treasure Car location guide and the rest of the series covers every other hidden car across FH6’s Japan map.

Ford GT Treasure Car Location in Forza Horizon 6

The 2005 Ford GT is parked in a small makeshift car park at the far eastern tip of the Nangan region, at the end of an unmarked coastal dirt trail that does not appear on the main road map. That last detail is exactly why so many players spend ages circling the coastline without finding it.

Here is how to get there. Head to the easternmost main road in Nangan — the one that runs closest to the coastline on the right side of the region. Follow it south until the road bends and gets as close to the shore as it gets. At that point, pull off and look for a narrow dirt path heading toward the coast, marked with a small yellow sign. It is easy to blow past at speed, so slow down when you are in the right stretch.

Take the dirt path. When you hit a fork, bear right. Follow it through the wooded area and it opens up into a small clearing — a rough car park on a clifftop overlooking the water, with Tokyo City visible in the distance. The Ford GT is right there.

Alternatively, you can approach from the beach — drive along the sand and then up the embankment — but visibility from that angle is poor and you are likely to drive past without spotting it. The dirt path from the road is the cleaner approach.

Step-by-Step: How to Find the Ford GT

    1. Drive into the eastern part of the Nangan region until Mei sends you the Ford GT clue photo.
    2. Head to the far southeastern corner of Nangan and find the easternmost coastal road.
    3. Follow that road south, hugging the coastline, until the road bends and comes closest to the shore.
    4. Look for a small dirt track branching off the main road — watch for the yellow sign marking it.
    5. Take the dirt track and bear right at the fork in the path.
    6. Follow it through the trees into a clifftop clearing. The Ford GT is parked there.
    7. Get close and press X to collect it.

Use the Drone — Seriously, Just Use the Drone

This is the one Treasure Car where the drone is not just helpful — it is practically necessary. The coastal dirt path is narrow, barely visible from the road, and completely absent from your map. Once you are in the eastern part of Nangan near the coastline, go straight to drone mode. Scan along the cliff edge heading southeast and you will spot the makeshift car park much faster than you would on foot. The purple icon pops the moment you fly close enough, and then ANNA takes you the rest of the way.

Drone on, D-pad down then up. Scan east along the cliff. Done.

How to Claim the Ford GT

Pull up to it, hit X when the prompt appears, watch the cutscene, and the 2005 Ford GT lands in your garage. Free. No Credits, no event wins, no auction house refreshing. Just an off-road detour and a button press.

No timer, no pressure, same as all the others. It will be sitting there whenever you arrive.

And the moment you collect it — spend a Skill Point on it right away. 10,000 instant XP, every time, for every Treasure Car. If the Ford GT is your last one, that is your ninth and final bonus. The Treasure Hunter achievement should be popping around now too if you have collected all nine.

2005 Ford GT Stats in Forza Horizon 6

Let’s talk about what you just picked up.

    • Year: 2005
    • Class: A
    • Performance Index: 676 — the highest of any Treasure Car in FH6
    • Drivetrain: Rear-Wheel Drive (RWD)
    • Engine: 5.4L Modular V8 with twin-screw supercharger
    • Horsepower: 550 hp
    • Torque: 500 lb-ft
    • In-Game Credit Value: 585,000 CR
    • Category: Extreme Track Toys / American Supercars

At 676 PI, the Ford GT edges out even the Porsche 959 (661 PI) as the highest-performing Treasure Car in the game. The 585,000 CR value is also nothing to dismiss — that is a serious car handed to you for free just for finding an unmarked coastal path.

In real life, the 2005 Ford GT was built to celebrate Ford’s 100th anniversary and pay direct tribute to the GT40 that won Le Mans four times in a row from 1966 to 1969. The GT40 connection was not just cosmetic — the GT used a similar visual identity with that wide, low, mid-engine silhouette. But the 2005 car was its own machine: a supercharged 5.4L V8 under the rear clamshell, aluminium chassis, 3390 lb kerb weight, and a 0-60 time around 3.5 seconds. Only around 4,000 were built across the production run, making it genuinely collectible today. In FH6, getting one free by exploring a coastal cliff is an excellent deal by any measure.

Is the Ford GT Worth the Hunt?

It is absolutely worth it — even if it takes a few attempts to find the path.

Highest PI of all nine Treasure Cars. A 676 Performance Index Class A car that you can race competitively straight out of the box, without spending a single Credit on upgrades. That alone makes it the most immediately useful free car in the collection.

It is genuinely fast. 550 hp, RWD, low weight — the Ford GT is not a museum piece you park and admire. It is a proper weapon for road racing events and circuit laps. It might not have the all-weather AWD grip of the Porsche 959 or the Evo III, but on clean tarmac it will be faster than almost anything you have at Class A before you start spending serious Credits on upgrades.

It is exclusive. Like every Treasure Car, you cannot buy the Ford GT from the Car Showroom. If you want it in your garage, you find it on that coastal cliff or you do not have it at all.

It is a piece of American automotive history. Le Mans heritage, 100th anniversary tribute, supercharged V8 — the Ford GT is one of those cars with a story behind every panel. Having one free in a game set in Japan is exactly the kind of contrast that makes a diverse garage interesting.

For a look at how the Ford GT holds up against the rest of the Class A field, our best cars for every class in Forza Horizon 6 guide breaks it all down.

Best Ways to Use the Ford GT in FH6

    Road Racing

This is the Ford GT’s natural home. Class A, 676 PI, rear-wheel drive on clean tarmac — it is built for circuit events and point-to-point road races. Take it out on the expressways and mountain passes of Nangan while you are already in the region. FH6’s road network suits a car like this perfectly. Our best roads, mountain passes, and expressways guide has the best routes to stretch it out on.

    Touge Battles

RWD and 550 hp on mountain roads is an interesting combination — demanding but rewarding if you have the car dialled in. The Ford GT is not the obvious Touge choice but in the right hands it is a serious competitor. Our Touge Battle mode complete guide explains how the format works and what setups suit it best. For a direct comparison of top Touge picks, see our best cars for Touge battles guide.

    Photo Mode

The 2005 Ford GT has one of the most dramatic silhouettes of anything in the game. Flying buttresses, that wide low stance, the supercharger bulge in the engine lid — it photographs brilliantly. The coastal cliff where you find it is actually one of the better Photo Mode spots in Nangan too. Our Photo Mode guide and best locations has more great spots to take it.

    Ending Note

The Ford GT is the hardest Treasure Car to find and the best one to drive. Highest PI in the collection, 550 hp supercharged V8, Class A performance — and it costs you nothing except a few minutes navigating an unmarked coastal trail that most players drive straight past.

Get to the southeastern coast of Nangan. Follow the easternmost road south. Watch for the yellow sign on the dirt path. Bear right at the fork. Collect the Ford GT from its clifftop hiding spot. Spend the Skill Point.

That is the one players overlook most — and now you have it. Enjoy the fastest free car in Forza Horizon 6.
