What Is the Nangan Region Treasure Hunt in Forza Horizon 6?

The Nangan Region Treasure Hunt is part of the Summer season in Series 2: Horizon Decades, which runs from June 18 to July 16, 2026. The Summer season runs from June 18 to June 25, 2026, and includes up to 55 points available from completing objectives in the Festival Playlist.

The Treasure Hunt comes with the clue “Follow the Photo Clue to Discover the Treasure!” The photo reveals it to be along the beach area of the Nangan region. The city of Tokyo is visible in the background of the clue image, which is your main landmark for orientation.

Like all Treasure Hunts in FH6, you just need to drive your car into the glowing chest to smash it open and collect the reward. No special car class or challenge is required first.

Where Is the Nangan Region Treasure Hunt Chest?

The Nangan region is to the southwest of Tokyo City, and you can even see the city in the background of the Treasure Hunt photo hint. The chest is along a stretch of sand to the east of the region that connects to the ocean.

The treasure chest is located along the lower coast of the region, south of Tokyo City. To reach the spot on the beach, you need to drive or fast-travel to the road just left of it, then drive carefully down the slope. This is the only way to get to this point on the coast, as a rock formation blocks access if you try to approach from the north along the beach.

Open your map and look for the Nangan region on the southeastern side of Japan. Find the eastern coastline where a stretch of sand runs alongside the ocean — the chest is along that stretch, with Tokyo City visible to the north.

How to Get to the Chest – Step by Step

1. Open the Festival Playlist and select the Nangan Region Treasure Hunt to view the photo clue.
2. Fast travel to the Jodogahama Grove Speed Trap and head to the beach to the southwest.
3. From the road, look for the slope that descends toward the coastline and drive down it carefully.
4. Do not approach from the north — a rock formation blocks that route completely.
5. Turn left heading north and follow the beach around the cliffs. The Treasure Chest can be found along the beach, overlooking the City of Tokyo.
6. Drive your car directly into the chest to smash it and collect your reward.

Those 3 points stack toward this week’s two seasonal reward cars. The 1989 Volkswagen Rallye Golf unlocks at 20 points, and the 1988 Lamborghini Countach LP5000 QV unlocks at 40 points, both available from June 18 to June 25.

The Countach is a serious car. As the third generation of the Countach series, its 5.2-litre V12 naturally aspirated engine featured a four-valve-per-cylinder design — a relatively high-efficiency intake configuration for a production car of that era. It is worth pushing for the 40-point threshold if you have the time this week.

Points also count toward the full Series 2 rewards. The 1993 Porsche 911 Turbo S Leichtbau unlocks at 80 points across the full Horizon Decades playlist, and the 2018 Lotus Exige Cup 430 requires 160 points across all four seasons.

About the Horizon Decades Summer Season

Series 2, dubbed “Horizon Decades,” runs from June 18 to July 16, 2026. It follows Series 1: Welcome to Japan and will be succeeded by Series 3: Italian Exotics on July 16, 2026.
