When you open the map after arriving in Sunreach, the sky islands are covered by clouds. This fog of war exists because the game wants you to find the Sunreach Watchtower before beginning your exploration.

If You Arrived Through The Feybreak Tower Portal

If you entered Sunreach by going through the altar at the top of Feybreak Tower, you’ll land on the eastern side of Sunreach. From there, go slightly southwest until you see the Watchtower symbol appear on the map. Head toward it and interact with the device at the top to reveal the full Sunreach map.

The Watchtower symbol will show up on your map as you get close enough, so keep moving southwest from the portal arrival point and watch for it to pop up. You don’t need to be standing directly under it to see the icon.

If You Flew To Sunreach Manually

If you flew up to Sunreach without using the portal — which is possible with a high-stamina Pal like Jetragon or Suzaku — your map will still be fully clouded and you won’t have the arrival marker to guide you.

In that case, use a visual cue instead. The Sunreach Watchtower is taller than the nearby Great Eagle Statue and is easily noticeable from a distance. Focus on the eastern side of the island cluster and fly around until the Watchtower logo appears on your map. Once it shows, head straight to it.

Activating The Watchtower

Locate The Six Defense Modules

Scout Soralite Nodes

How To Travel Between Islands In Sunreach After Clearing The Map

Once the fog is gone, moving between the floating islands is much easier. Here are the options:

• Flying mount – The fastest option by far. A strong flyer like Jetragon lets you cross directly between islands and scout Soralite nodes at the same time. Highly recommended.
• Island altars – Each island has a teleport altar. These are the intended traversal method for players without a flying mount. They transport you between set points in the region.
• Purple teleport orbs – Floating purple orbs scattered across Sunreach warp you to a random location when you walk near them. Handy for quick hops but unpredictable if you need to land somewhere specific.
• Pink flower buds – Interacting with large pink buds temporarily reduces gravity on your character, making it easier to glide and move between heights.

If you don’t have a strong flyer yet, now is a good time to sort one out before tackling the Defense Modules.
