Two Parafolks can have multiple labels at the same time — they can be friends, co-workers, neighbors, and romantic interests all at once. Each label can also be leveled up over time as the relationship deepens.

The main tool for building any relationship — including romance — is the Together Cards system. Every time two Paras have a conversation, a bar fills up. When it is full, a speech bubble appears and gives you a set of cards to choose from. These are your Together Cards. The card you pick steers the direction of the relationship.

Cards are not random in a vacuum. The options you get depend on your Para’s current mood, Vibe, recent events, skills, needs, and the state of the existing relationship between the two Paras. This means the right card at the right moment can push a relationship forward fast — and the wrong card at the wrong time can set things back significantly.

Together Card Colors Explained

Each Together Card has a color that tells you what type of interaction it represents. Here is what each color means:

• White cards — Neutral interactions. Safe to use at any stage. Good for filling the conversation bar without risk.
• Green cards — Positive, friendly interactions. Best for building early friendship and keeping the mood light.
• Pink cards — Romantic and flirty interactions. These carry a success percentage. Use them when the relationship and mood are both in a good place.
• Blue cards — Skill-related interactions. Help with learning and growth rather than relationship building directly.
• Red cards — Negative interactions. These build rivalry and hostility. Avoid these if you want to build romance.
• Yellow cards — Special milestone cards. These include big relationship moments like proposing or eloping.

Special Storyteller cards also appear occasionally during conversations. These are outside the normal card draw and offer you the chance to add a new Relationship Label or level up an existing one. Always take these when they appear — they are the fastest way to progress a relationship.

How To Find Another Para Before Talking

If the Para you want to romance does not live with you, you need to track them down first. Do not wander the streets hoping to bump into them. There is a faster way.

Open the Relationships tab on the left side of your screen. Find the Para’s portrait and click their icon. Then select “Find Parafolk.” The camera will instantly zoom in on their exact location on the map. From there, head over and start a conversation.

Step 1 – Build a Friendship First

Before any pink flirting card shows up, you need a base friendship. Two Paras who have just met will not have romantic options available straight away. Start simple — click on the Para and choose “Talk with.”

As the conversation bar fills, pick white and green cards. These are safe. They build the relationship without any risk of failure or embarrassment. Keep conversations going regularly. Spending time together in a group — doing shared activities, eating at the same table, hanging out — also builds the relationship passively without needing to direct every interaction.

The Storyteller will eventually offer a card to set the relationship label to Acquaintance and then to Friend. Accept these when they appear. Each new label opens up new Together Card options in future conversations.

Step 2 – Introduce Pink Romantic Cards

Once a solid friendship is in place, pink flirting cards will start to appear in the card draw. This is when romance can begin. But before you click a pink card, do a few important checks.

Every pink card shows a success percentage on it. This number tells you how likely the flirt is to land. The base chance for a flirt starts around 20 percent in early interactions. This goes up as the relationship grows. Do not click a pink card with a very low percentage. Several things influence how likely a pink card is to succeed:

• Relationship level — The stronger the existing bond, the better the odds.
• Your Para’s mood — Happy, confident Paras flirt more successfully. Stressed or embarrassed Paras do not.
• Vibe compatibility — Matching or compatible Vibes help. Conflicting Vibes hurt. A Jester Para paired with a Serious Para takes a -20 point penalty on romantic interactions. This is a significant hit.
• Traits and perks — Paras created with the “Good at Romantic Relationships” perk in the Paramaker start with higher flirt success rates and unlock unique romantic Together Cards that others do not get.
• Recent interactions — A failed flirt or recent embarrassment lowers the next attempt.
• Familiarity — The more time the two Paras have spent together, the better the baseline odds become.

Step 3 – Unlock the Romantic Interest Label

After a few successful pink card interactions, the Storyteller will appear and offer the chance to give the relationship the “Romantic Interest” label. Select it. This label is a big step — it signals that the relationship has shifted from friendship into something more. It also unlocks new, deeper romantic Together Cards in future conversations that were not available before.

Keep using a mix of green and pink cards after this point. Do not go all-in on pink cards only — balance is important. A healthy mix keeps the overall relationship strong while pushing the romantic side forward at the same time.

Step 4 – Become an Exclusive Couple

With the Romantic Interest label in place and the relationship continuing to grow, a new card will eventually appear: “Ask to be in a relationship together.” This is the card that makes things official.

Again, check the success rate before using it. This is a high-stakes card. A failure here can hurt the relationship and leave both Paras feeling awkward. Wait until the odds are genuinely in your favor. When they are — use the card, and if it succeeds, your two Paras become an exclusive couple.

One important note: if you are trying to romance a Para who is already in a relationship with someone else, pink flirting cards will eventually stop appearing entirely when using Friend cards with them. The game actively resists it. If you want to pursue them anyway, you can use the cheat console — press Ctrl+Shift+C and type Removerelationship [Para A name]:[Para B name] to wipe their existing relationship history and start fresh. Step 5 – Reach the Lovers Label

After becoming an exclusive couple, keep spending time together and keep the conversation cards flowing. The Storyteller will eventually offer the “Lovers” label upgrade. Accept it. This is the deepest romantic label in Paralives and the one required before a proposal becomes possible.

At this stage, a few other interactions also open up. Paras can Get Intimate by clicking on a double bed or a shower while grouped together. This option becomes available with a strong romantic bond even without going through the baby path — it is a separate interaction from “Try for a Baby.”

The romantic relationship labels in Paralives progress in this order:

• Acquaintance — First contact. Basic recognition.
• Friend — A real friendship has formed.
• Romantic Interest — Flirting has started. Feelings are developing.
• Lover — Deep romantic relationship. The couple is exclusive.
• Fiancée — A successful proposal has been made.
• Spouse — The couple has eloped and are officially married.

Each label can also be leveled up. Two Paras who maintain a long, consistent relationship will have higher-level labels that unlock Relationship Perks. For example, two Paras with a Level 10 Cooking Buddy label get powerful bonuses when cooking together.
