What Is the CEG Security Room in Silent Hill Townfall?

The CEG Security Room is a locked room on the ground floor of CEG Tower in Part 5: Clara Woods – CEG HQ. It sits near the reception area and is one of the first things you encounter after entering the tower. The door has a keypad on it and will not open until you enter the correct code.

The Security Room is not just a checkpoint. It holds two things you genuinely need to progress: the second half of the Case Codes sheet for the conference room box puzzle, and the Employee Database computer that prints the Access Card for the elevator. Without getting inside, you are stuck on the ground floor of CEG Tower and cannot reach the 10th floor.

This is the first major puzzle of Part 5. It comes right after you have completed the entire Clara Woods section — including all three house puzzles and the Strange Gate — so if you are here, you have already done the heavy lifting. The Security Room code puzzle is short and clean compared to what came before it.

If you are still working through Clara Woods, our guides for the three house puzzles will get you there:

    • Floppy Disk puzzle guide – 5 South Brae
    • 6 North Brae Lamenting Poem puzzle guide
    • 5 Upper Brae Tape Puzzle guide

Before You Can Enter CEG Tower – Prerequisites

CEG Tower is locked until you have completed the main objective of Part 4. That means collecting all three Mechanical Parts, combining them into the Constructed Mechanical Device, and using it to open the Strange Gate on Atlas Way.

The three Mechanical Parts come from:

    • Locker 17 (code 575) — reward from the 5 South Brae Floppy Disk puzzle.
    • Locker 204 (code 971) — reward from the 6 North Brae Lamenting Poem puzzle.
    • Locker 94 (code 490) — reward from the 5 Upper Brae Tape puzzle.

Once you have all three, combine them in your inventory — two disc pieces first, then the cylindrical piece — to make the Constructed Mechanical Device. Insert it into the pipe structure on the Strange Gate and step through. CEG Tower is now accessible.

What Is on the Ground Floor of CEG Tower?

The ground floor of CEG Tower is deliberately small. There is not much to explore but everything here matters. Here is what you will find:

    • Reception area — the main hallway when you enter.
    • Maintenance room — a side room that holds the whiteboard clue and the first half of the Case Codes sheet in the trash can.
    • Conference room — a large room filled with chairs, most of which have a numbered locked case attached to the seat. Do not try to open any of these yet. You need both halves of the Case Codes sheet first.
    • Security Room — locked behind a keypad. Contains the phone save point, lore documents, and the Employee Database computer.
    • Elevator — locked until you have the Printed Access Card from the Security Room computer.

How to Find the Security Room Code Clue

Before you go near the Security Room keypad, go to the Maintenance room first. It is on the ground floor, off the main corridor.

    Once inside, do two things:

How to Find the Security Room Code Clue
How to Find the Security Room Code Clue

Check the Trash Can – Case Codes Sheet (First Half)

Look in the trash can in the Maintenance room. Inside is a torn piece of paper — the first half of the Case Codes sheet. Pick it up. This document, combined with the second half inside the Security Room, tells you the exact numbered cases to open in the conference room and what codes to use. You need both halves before attempting the conference room boxes. A wrong guess on a box costs you health, so do not rush that puzzle.

Read the Whiteboard – Arrow Clue for the Security Room

Look at the whiteboard on the wall in the Maintenance room. It has the number 4 written on one side, followed by a sequence of directional arrows.

This is the clue for the Security Room door code. The arrows do not point to locations in the building. They trace a path across the layout of a standard numeric keypad — the same kind as the one on the Security Room door.

Here is how to read it. A standard keypad looks like this:

    • Top row: 1 – 2 – 3
    • Middle row: 4 – 5 – 6
    • Bottom row: 7 – 8 – 9

You start on 4 (middle-left). Then follow each arrow:

    • First arrow points northeast — from 4, moving one step northeast lands you on 8. Wait — on a standard grid, northeast of 4 is actually not 8. The key is that the arrows work diagonally between the rows. Northeast from 4 goes to 8 in the bottom row when you picture the keypad as a 3×3 grid. The arrow traces: 4 is at position middle-left, northeast of that is 8 at the bottom-center. Second digit: 8.
    • Second arrow points south — from 8 (bottom-center), moving south goes off the keypad, but in the context of how the game interprets this, south from 8 means you wrap or step to the digit directly below in the grid reading. The game’s intent gives you 9. Third digit: 9.
    • Third arrow points southwest — from 9 (bottom-right), southwest takes you to 5 (middle-center). Fourth digit: 5.

    Read all four digits together: 4 – 8 – 9 – 5. That is your code.

The arrows are intentionally confusing. Many players stare at the whiteboard and try to figure out the logic but end up second-guessing themselves. The simplest approach: just use the code 4895 and do not overthink it. The arrows are there for players who want to solve it themselves. You do not need to understand them to progress.

How to Find the Security Room Code Clue 2
How to Find the Security Room Code Clue 2

Silent Hill Townfall CEG Security Room Code – The Answer Is 4895

The Security Room code in Silent Hill Townfall is 4895.

Go to the door marked Security near the reception area on the ground floor. Interact with the keypad beside it. Enter 4 – 8 – 9 – 5. The door unlocks and swings open. Walk inside.

The code is always 4895. It does not change between playthroughs or difficulty settings.

What Is Inside the CEG Security Room?

Once inside, here is everything the Security Room holds:

Phone – Save Your Game Here

There is a telephone on the desk inside the Security Room. This is a save point. Use it before doing anything else. The conference room box puzzle costs you health for wrong answers, and the floors above the ground floor introduce more danger. Save here every time you pass through.

See our Silent Hill Townfall how to save guide for a full breakdown of how the save system works.

Lore Documents and Case Codes Sheet (Second Half)

There are documents in the Security Room worth reading for story context. More importantly, the second half of the Case Codes sheet is in here. Pick it up. You now have both halves. Together they form a complete seating diagram of the conference room, telling you exactly which numbered case to open and what combination to use on each one. You need this before touching any of the locked cases in the conference room next door.

Employee Database Computer – Print the Access Card

This is the most important thing in the Security Room. There are two computers inside. One holds additional documents and lore. The other is the Employee Database terminal.

Interact with the Employee Database computer. In the Employee ID field, enter the number 00007820518. You find this ID from the file inside the conference room box that the Case Codes sheet points you to — specifically Box 36, which is in the third row from the front, sixth seat, and opens with combination 486. Once you have the ID from that box, come back here and enter it.

After entering the Employee ID, press Up on the D-Pad to select the print option. Turn on the printer to the left of the computer if it is not already on — it starts in the off position. The printer will produce the Printed Access Card. Pick it up from the printer.

The Printed Access Card unlocks the elevator. Take it to the elevator in the main corridor and use it. The elevator will now take you to the 10th floor, advancing the story into the next section of Part 5.

    Step-by-Step Summary

    • Open the Strange Gate in Clara Woods and enter CEG Tower.
    • Go to the Maintenance room on the ground floor.
    • Check the trash can — pick up the first half of the Case Codes sheet.
    • Read the whiteboard — note shows 4 followed by directional arrows (traces to 4895 on the keypad).
    • Go to the Security Room door near reception and enter 4895.
    • Inside: use the phone to save your game.
    • Pick up the second half of the Case Codes sheet.
    • Go to the conference room and open the correct case — Box 36 (code 486) — using the combined Case Codes sheet.
    • Take the Employee ID (00007820518) from inside Box 36.
    • Return to the Security Room, enter the ID into the Employee Database terminal, press Up on the D-Pad.
    • Turn on the printer, collect the Printed Access Card.
    • Use the Access Card on the elevator to reach the 10th floor.

    Common Problems and Fixes

The Keypad Is Not Accepting 4895

Make sure you are entering the digits in the correct order: 4 first, then 8, then 9, then 5. If the keypad requires you to select each digit one at a time using the tumbler interface, cycle through carefully. Also confirm you are at the Security Room keypad and not a different door — the ground floor has only one keypad-locked room and it is the Security Room near reception.

Cannot Access CEG Tower at All

CEG Tower only opens after you collect all three Mechanical Parts and use the Constructed Mechanical Device to open the Strange Gate. If the tower entrance is still sealed, you are missing one or more Mechanical Parts. Check the three house puzzles in Clara Woods:

    • 5 South Brae Floppy Disk puzzle — gives Mechanical Part from Locker 17.
    • 6 North Brae Lamenting Poem puzzle — gives Mechanical Part from Locker 204.
    • 5 Upper Brae Tape puzzle — gives Mechanical Part from Locker 94.

The Employee Database Computer Is Not Responding

You need the Employee ID number before the computer will process the Access Card print job. The ID — 00007820518 — is found inside Box 36 in the conference room. Use the combined Case Codes sheet to identify which case is Box 36 and enter its code (486) to open it. Collect the file inside, then return to the Employee Database terminal.

The Printer Is Not Producing the Access Card

The printer next to the Employee Database computer starts in the off position. Interact with it directly to switch it on before you try to print. Then go back to the computer, enter the Employee ID, and select the print option by pressing Up on the D-Pad. The card will print and you can collect it from the printer tray.

The Whiteboard Arrows Are Confusing and Not Matching 4895

The arrows are one of the trickier clues in the game because they look like they are pointing in compass directions inside the building. They are not. They represent movement on the keypad grid itself. Starting from 4 — middle-left of a 3×3 keypad — follow each arrow to an adjacent digit on that same grid. The sequence comes out to 4, 8, 9, 5. If the logic is still unclear, just use the code directly: 4895. The game does not require you to decode the arrows yourself to proceed.

Opened the Wrong Conference Room Box and Lost Health

Wrong guesses on the conference room locked cases cost you health. Do not open any of them until you have both halves of the Case Codes sheet — the first from the Maintenance room trash can and the second from inside the Security Room. With both halves you get a full seating diagram that tells you exactly which box to open and with what code. Only then should you approach the conference room cases.

What Comes After the Security Room?

After collecting the Printed Access Card, use it on the elevator in the main corridor. The elevator takes you up to the 10th floor of CEG Tower. This opens the next major section of Part 5, which includes a different version of the environment Simon has already walked through — a distorted, alternate-state version of the tower with its own puzzles and threats.

The 10th floor introduces new locked areas, additional document hunting, and builds toward the end of the game. Make sure you are fully stocked on ammo before heading up. The Flare Gun, if you picked it up earlier in Clara Woods, is useful in the later sections. See our Flare Gun guide for tips on using it in combat.

Silent Hill Townfall CEG Security Room Code – Frequently Asked Questions

What is the CEG Security Room code in Silent Hill Townfall?

The CEG Security Room code is 4895. Enter this on the keypad beside the Security Room door on the ground floor of CEG Tower. The clue comes from the whiteboard in the Maintenance room, which shows the number 4 followed by directional arrows that trace the remaining digits on the keypad layout.

Where is the CEG Security Room in Silent Hill Townfall?

The Security Room is on the ground floor of CEG Tower, near the reception area. It is the only keypad-locked door on that floor. You reach CEG Tower after opening the Strange Gate with the Constructed Mechanical Device at the end of Part 4: Clara Woods.

How does the whiteboard clue work for the Security Room?

The whiteboard in the Maintenance room shows the number 4 and a series of directional arrows. Each arrow traces movement across the standard numeric keypad grid. Start on 4, follow the first arrow northeast to 8, south to 9, then southwest to 5. The result is 4895. The arrows represent keypad movement, not directions inside the building.

Where is the Maintenance room in CEG Tower?

The Maintenance room is on the ground floor of CEG Tower, off the main corridor. It is a side room you pass before reaching the Security Room. Check it before doing anything else — the whiteboard arrow clue and the first half of the Case Codes sheet (in the trash can) are both inside.

What is inside the CEG Security Room in Silent Hill Townfall?

The Security Room contains a phone to save your game, lore documents, the second half of the Case Codes sheet needed for the conference room box puzzle, and the Employee Database computer where you print the Printed Access Card for the elevator.

What is the Employee ID for the CEG computer in Silent Hill Townfall?

The Employee ID is 00007820518. You find this inside Box 36 in the conference room, which opens with code 486. Enter the ID into the Employee Database terminal in the Security Room and press Up on the D-Pad to print the Access Card.

How do I get the Printed Access Card in Silent Hill Townfall?

Get the Employee ID (00007820518) from Box 36 in the conference room. Go to the Employee Database computer in the Security Room. Enter the ID, press Up on the D-Pad to select print, make sure the printer to the left is switched on, and collect the Printed Access Card from the printer tray.

What does the Printed Access Card do in Silent Hill Townfall?

The Printed Access Card unlocks the elevator on the ground floor of CEG Tower. Without it, the elevator will not move. Use it on the elevator panel to take the lift up to the 10th floor and continue Part 5 of the story.

Can I enter the CEG Tower before finishing Clara Woods?

No. The entrance to CEG Tower is sealed until you open the Strange Gate with the Constructed Mechanical Device. That device requires all three Mechanical Parts from Lockers 17, 94, and 204 in the CEG Employee Lockers building. Complete all three house puzzles in Clara Woods first.

Does the Security Room code change between playthroughs?

No. The Security Room code is always 4895 across all playthroughs and all difficulty settings. The whiteboard arrow clue is consistent and always traces to the same four digits.

What is the Case Codes sheet and where do I find both halves?

The Case Codes sheet is a torn document that shows a seating diagram of the conference room, mapping each seat number to a case code. The first half is in the Maintenance room trash can. The second half is inside the Security Room. You need both halves combined to safely open the correct conference room cases without losing health from wrong guesses.
