- TL;DR: The Witcher 3 Remastered has 78 achievements / 79 trophies across the base game, Hearts of Stone, and Blood and Wine.
- The Remastered update carries over all existing saves, achievements, and trophies — no new list was added.
- Several achievements are permanently missable — most notably Full Crew, Friends with Benefits, Assassin of Kings, and Card Collector.
- Walked the Path (Death March completion) is the rarest and hardest achievement — never lower the difficulty mid-playthrough or it voids.
- Kling of the Clink and Last Action Hero are mutually exclusive Blood and Wine endings — save before the branching point.
- Play on Death March from the start to earn all three difficulty achievements in one run.
- Challenge every named NPC to Gwent before finishing their quest to avoid missing missable cards needed for Card Collector.
The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt Remastered launched September 29, 2026 for PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch 2. It brought a wealth of new visual and gameplay improvements, but CD Projekt confirmed that the existing achievement and trophy list carries over unchanged. Whether you are starting fresh or continuing an old save, this guide covers every achievement in the game — what they are, how to unlock them, and how to avoid locking yourself out permanently.
Achievement Carryover in The Witcher 3 Remastered
CD Projekt confirmed ahead of launch that The Witcher 3 Remastered is an update to the existing game, not a separate edition. This means your save files carry over, all previously unlocked achievements and trophies remain unlocked, and progress toward unfinished achievements continues normally after installing the upgrade. There is no new separate achievement list for the Remastered version.
If you already have the platinum or 1000G from a previous version on the same platform, there is nothing new to unlock. If you were mid-playthrough when the Remastered update dropped, you can continue exactly where you left off.
For full details on the update itself, see our Witcher 3 Remastered Patch 5.0 all changes explained and our free upgrade guide for all platforms.
How Many Achievements Are There?
The complete edition of The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt Remastered contains 78 achievements on Xbox and PC and 79 trophies on PlayStation (PS5 counts the Platinum as a separate entry). On PlayStation, the list includes 1 Platinum, 2 Gold, 8 Silver, and 68 Bronze trophies. The total spans the base game, the Hearts of Stone expansion, and the Blood and Wine expansion.
Recommended Playthrough Order
Planning your approach before starting saves a lot of time and avoids missable failures. Here is the smartest order:
- Start on Death March difficulty and never change it. This unlocks all three difficulty achievements (Passed the Trial, Ran the Gauntlet, Walked the Path) in a single run.
- Complete all side quests and subplots as you encounter them, especially Keira Metz and the Triss questline in Velen and Novigrad. Do not leave them for later.
- Challenge every named NPC to Gwent before finishing their quest. Cards from named opponents are the primary source of missable content.
- Complete all Witcher Contracts as you unlock them region by region.
- Destroy monster nests whenever you encounter them — do not ignore them.
- For Blood and Wine: save before the branching endings so you can unlock both Kling of the Clink and Last Action Hero without replaying the whole expansion.

All Base Game Achievements
Story Progression Achievements
These unlock automatically by progressing through the main quest. They cannot be missed as long as you finish the game.
- Lilac and Gooseberries — Find Yennefer of Vengerberg. Completes the main quest “The Incident at White Orchard.”
- A Friend in Need — Find and free Dandelion in Novigrad.
- Family Counselor — Find the baron’s wife and daughter. Completes “Family Matters.”
- Necromancer — Complete the main quest “The Nameless.”
- Something More — Find Ciri. Completes “The Isle of Mists.”
- Xenonaut — Visit Tir ná Lia and convince Ge’els to betray Eredin.
- The King is Dead — Defeat Eredin. Completes “On Thin Ice.”
- Passed the Trial — Finish the game on any difficulty.
Difficulty Achievements
- Ran the Gauntlet — Finish the game on Blood and Broken Bones! or Death March! difficulty. If you complete Death March, both this and Passed the Trial unlock at the same time.
- Walked the Path — Finish the game on Death March! difficulty. This is one of the rarest achievements in the game. See the dedicated section below for tips.
Side Quest and Subplot Achievements
Most of these are missable. Do them early and do not skip them.
- Friends With Benefits — Complete the subplot involving Keira Metz. MISSABLE. Complete all five of her side quests: The Magic Lamp, An Invitation from Keira Metz, A Towerful of Mice, A Favour for a Friend, and For the Advancement of Learning. At the end of her final quest, you must send her to Kaer Morhen — not kill her. The entire chain must be completed before reaching “The Isle of Mists.” This is also required for Full Crew.
- Full Crew — Bring all possible allies to Kaer Morhen for the battle against the Hunt. HIGHLY MISSABLE. You need seven specific allies: Keira Metz (send her to Kaer Morhen via her subplot), Triss Merigold (complete her Novigrad quest chain and ask her to stay), Vernon Roche (complete “An Eye for an Eye”), Ves (keep her alive during Roche’s quest), Zoltan Chivay (talk to him after completing his side quest), Ermion (talk to him during the Skellige storyline), and Hjalmar or Cerys (complete the Kingmaker subplot). The Brothers in Arms quest chain is the trigger — complete all sub-quests first.
- Kingmaker — Complete the subplot about choosing Skellige’s ruler. Support either Cerys an Craite or Hjalmar an Craite through their respective quests and then witness the coronation. Required for Full Crew.
- Assassin of Kings — Take part in the assassination of King Radovid. MISSABLE. This requires completing Triss’s Novigrad quests, sparing Dijkstra during “A Deadly Plot,” and then completing “Reason of State.” If you side with Dijkstra or skip any prior step, this achievement is locked for that save.
Witcher Contract Achievements
- Geralt: The Professional — Complete all Witcher contracts in the base game. There are 26 contracts total. Contracts are posted on notice boards and marked with yellow icons on the world map. Track them in your quest log. Note: “Contract: The Beast of Honorton” and “Contract: Skellige’s Most Wanted” are DLC contracts and do not count. Every base game contract must be completed before this unlocks.
- Shrieker — Complete the contract on the Shrieker. Found near Crow’s Perch in Velen.
- Fearless Vampire Slayer — Complete the contract on Sarasti in Skellige.
- Fiend or Foe? — Complete the contract on Morvudd.
- Ashes to Ashes — Complete the contract on Therazane (Doors Slamming Shut). Recommended level 24+.
- Woodland Spirit — Complete the contract on the Woodland Spirit in Skellige.
Gwent Achievements
- Card Collector — Acquire all Gwent cards available in the base game. MISSABLE. You need 169 unique cards (some sources list slightly different counts depending on version). The most dangerous missable cards are tied to: A Dangerous Game (choose cards over gold), the Bloody Baron Gwent match (beat him before his quest ends), the High Stakes tournament in Novigrad, and the Vegelbud Estate tournament. The book “A Miraculous Guide to Gwent” tracks your remaining cards by region. Complete the Collect ‘Em All side quest — that is the formal achievement trigger.
- Gwent Master — Defeat Tybalt and win the Gwent tournament held at the Passiflora. MISSABLE. This is part of the High Stakes quest in Novigrad. It unlocks after completing enough Gwent quests. Win all four opponent matches to complete it.
- All In — Play three Hero cards in one round of Gwent and win the match. Build a deck with several Hero cards and hold them for one round. The easiest faction for this is Nilfgaard or Northern Realms with neutral heroes like Geralt and Ciri added. See our Witcher 3 Remastered best Nilfgaardian Empire Gwent deck for card locations.
- Geralt and Friends — Win a round of Gwent using only neutral cards. Build a temporary deck made entirely of neutral cards and win one round with it. You do not need to win the whole match — just one round.
Exploration and Collection Achievements
- Globetrotter — Discover 100 fast travel points. Stick to the main roads while traveling and you will hit this naturally. Signposts are placed along all major roads and town entrances. See our how to fast travel in The Witcher 3 Remastered guide for more.
- Pest Control — Destroy all monster nests in the Velen / Novigrad region, or in Skellige. Skellige is the easier option — it has only 5 nests. Velen / Novigrad has 29. Use Grapeshot or Dancing Star bombs to destroy nests, or a lit torch. Nests appear as dragon skull icons on your map.
- Fire in the Hole — Destroy 10 monster nests using bombs. Use any bomb on a nest. You will complete this while working toward Pest Control.
- Armed and Dangerous — Find and equip all the elements of one Witcher gear set. Any full school set counts — chest, pants, gloves, boots, and both swords. The White Orchard School Cat set is one of the easiest to complete early.
- Dressed to Kill — Unlock the bonus for equipping all Witcher gear elements from one school. The school bonus activates when you wear a complete matching set. This requires higher-tier crafted gear, not just the base set. Grandmaster sets give the strongest bonuses.
- Bookworm — Read 30 books, journals, or other documents. Pick up and read any books or journals you find. Loot every shelf and bookcase you come across. This unlocks naturally during normal exploration.
- Bombardier — Collect the formulae for 6 different bomb types. Formulae are found in chests, as loot, and purchased from herbalists and alchemists. Six different bomb types, not six copies of the same one.
- Let’s Cook! — Learn 12 potion formulae. Find or purchase potion recipes and read them to add them to your alchemy list. Twelve distinct potion types are needed.
Combat Achievements
- Butcher of Blaviken — Kill at least 5 opponents in under 10 seconds. Best done with a group of weak enemies in Velen early on. Use Whirl (heavy attack spin) or the Igni Sign in a crowd. Save this for a moment when you find five or more low-level bandits or drowners clustered together.
- The Enemy of My Enemy — Use the Axii Sign to force one opponent to kill another. Do this 20 times. Cast Axii on an enemy, wait for them to turn on an ally and land a kill. Repeat across the whole game. Level up Axii to make the mind control last longer.
- Humpty Dumpty — Kill 10 opponents by knocking them off somewhere high using the Aard Sign. Find cliffs, bridges, or tall ruins and use Aard to blast enemies off the edge. The kill must result from the fall, not from sword damage.
- Triple Threat — Kill 3 opponents in one fight using 3 different methods (swords, bombs, crossbow, Signs, etc.). Use a bomb to kill one, a sword on the second, and Igni or crossbow on the third — all in the same combat encounter.
- What Was That? — Attack, counter, cast a Sign, and throw a bomb in under 4 seconds. Best practiced in a controlled low-level fight. Prepare a bomb in your quick slot. Attack → immediately parry a swing → cast any Sign → throw the bomb, all in rapid succession.
- That Is the Evilest Thing… — Ignite the gas produced by a Dragon’s Dream bomb using a burning opponent. Do this 10 times. Throw a Dragon’s Dream bomb at a group, then use Igni or a burning enemy to ignite it. Each successful explosion counts as one.
- Overkill — Make an opponent suffer from bleeding, poisoning, and burning simultaneously. Do this 10 times. Apply Renfri’s Blade (bleed), Moon Dust bomb or poisoned sword oil (poison), and use Igni to burn. This is easier on weaker enemies where all three conditions can be applied before they die.
- Return to Sender — Kill 3 opponents with their own arrows using the Quen shield. Deflect arrows by activating Quen, which sends projectiles back at the shooter. Hearts of Stone expands Quen’s capabilities, making this easier later in the game.
- David and Golyat — Kill Golyat with a crossbow bolt to his eye. MISSABLE for Blood and Wine. This happens at the very start of Blood and Wine during the opening cutscene sequence. Use the crossbow when the prompt appears and aim for the eye. If you miss the prompt or use the wrong weapon, the opportunity is gone.
Skill and Progression Achievements
- Dendrologist — Acquire all the abilities in one skill tree. Max out every ability in Combat, Signs, or Alchemy. This requires a significant amount of skill points — plan your build accordingly. See our Witcher 3 Remastered skill tree guide for help.
- Mutant — Fill all mutagen slots. Equip a mutagen in every available slot on Geralt’s character screen. Decoction mutagens (red, green, blue) are the most powerful. Mutagen slots unlock as you invest skill points.
- Can Quit Anytime I Want — Be under the influence of seven potions or decoctions at the same time. Decoctions count separately from potions. Brew several and drink them all before meditating. Decoctions last for an hour of real-time exploration — make sure all seven are active simultaneously.
Activity Achievements
- Brawl Master — Complete all fistfighting quests in Velen, Skellige, and Novigrad. There are three separate fistfighting quest chains, one per region. Win every bout in each chain. Do not lose on purpose — some NPCs will not offer a rematch.
- Brawler — Defeat Olaf, the Skellige champion of unarmed combat. Olaf is the final opponent in the Skellige fistfighting chain.
- Fast and Furious — Win all horse races in the game. There are horse races in Velen, Novigrad, and Skellige. Win every race in each region. Upgrade Roach’s stamina through the saddle equipment slots. Do not let Roach get stuck on terrain — choose the fastest path on each course. See our Witcher 3 Remastered Roach and horse riding changes guide.

Hearts of Stone Achievements
Hearts of Stone adds a focused set of achievements, most tied to its main questline. Save regularly in multiple slots throughout this DLC — several achievements are tied to specific moments you cannot revisit.
- Pacta Sunt Servanda — Finish the Hearts of Stone expansion. Story-related, cannot be missed.
- I’m Not Kissing That — Kill the prince cursed into a toad at the start of the expansion. Unmissable story event.
- Let the Good Times Roll! — Participate in all the activities at the wedding during the main quest. Do not rush through the wedding scene — explore and interact with every available activity, including the drinking game, the arm wrestling, and the dancing. Skipping any voids this achievement.
- Shopaholic — Buy all the items put on the block at the Borsodi brothers’ Auction House. MISSABLE. During the Auction House sequence, you must bid on and win every single item auctioned. Bring plenty of Crowns. Missing even one item fails the achievement for that playthrough.
- Curator of Nightmares — Recreate all of Iris’ nightmares in the Painted World. During the “Scenes From a Marriage” quest, you must interact with all five of Iris’ memories to recreate them. The courtyard gazebo memory is the one most commonly missed — explore every area of the Painted World before concluding the quest.
- When It’s Many Against One… — Provoke all of Iris von Everec’s Nightmares into fighting at the same time and defeat them. During the same quest, trigger all three Nightmare enemies simultaneously. Stay in the center of the area and keep moving to avoid being overwhelmed before all three engage.
- Can Quit Anytime I Want — Same as the base game version — be under the influence of seven potions or decoctions simultaneously. If you have not unlocked it yet, Hearts of Stone is a good time to knock it out.
- Turned Every Stone — Find all grandmaster diagrams for each Witcher school. Complete all five scavenger hunts from the “Master Master Master Master!” quest chain available after Hearts of Stone. You need all five school sets: Griffin, Wolf, Cat, Bear, and Manticore. Grandmaster diagrams are found across the game world and require a master craftsman to produce.
- Dressed to Kill — Unlock the bonus for equipping all Witcher gear elements from one school. Craft and equip a complete Grandmaster set from any one school to unlock the school bonus.
- Return to Sender — Kill 3 opponents with their own arrows. See the base game section above.
Blood and Wine Achievements
Blood and Wine has the most missable achievements of any section. Save in multiple slots throughout. The two ending achievements are mutually exclusive and require a save reload or two separate playthroughs.
- The Witcher’s Gone South — Travel to the Duchy of Toussaint. Unmissable — happens at the very start of Blood and Wine.
- David and Golyat — Kill Golyat with a crossbow bolt to his eye. MISSABLE. This is in the opening sequence of Blood and Wine. Use the crossbow when prompted and aim for the eye. This must be done in the first interaction or the opportunity is permanently gone.
- A Knight to Remember — Obtain a flawless victory in all the competitions during the knights’ tourney. MISSABLE. During the tournament quest, you must win each individual event without losing a single bout. There are multiple rounds — do not let any single round slip. If you fail one round, the achievement is gone for that playthrough.
- The Grapes of Wrath Stomped — Complete all side quests in Toussaint. Complete every side quest and contract available in the Blood and Wine region. There are 38 available. Track them via your quest log and notice boards.
- Wild Rose Dethorned — Defeat all the fallen knights and loot their campsites. Hunt down all five fallen knights across Toussaint. Each is found at a marked campsite and must be defeated in combat, with their camp looted afterward.
- Embodiment of the Five Virtues — Be recognized as a person who embodies all five chivalric virtues by the Lady of the Lake. MISSABLE. Throughout the Blood and Wine questline, you must make specific choices that demonstrate all five virtues (valor, generosity, honor, wisdom, and compassion) as recognized by the game’s narrative system. Consult a specific quest guide for this one — the choices are spread across multiple quests.
- Turned Every Stone — Find all grandmaster diagrams for each school. Also required for this DLC section. See Hearts of Stone entry above.
- I Have a Gwent Problem — Collect all the cards in the Skellige deck. Blood and Wine includes the Gwent: Never Fear, Skellige’s Here quest, which tasks you with collecting all 38 Skellige faction cards. Win them from opponents and buy them from merchants throughout Toussaint.
- Last Action Hero — Be decorated with the Order of Vitis Vinifera. MISSABLE — MUTUALLY EXCLUSIVE WITH KLING OF THE CLINK. To get this ending, during “The Night of Long Fangs,” find Syanna, then during “Beyond Hill and Dale,” retrieve the ribbon from the Little Flint Girl by winning Gwent or paying 500 Crowns. Complete the main quest with this path to receive the award ceremony ending. This achievement requires the “good” ending for Blood and Wine.
- Kling of the Clink — Serve time in Toussaint. MISSABLE — MUTUALLY EXCLUSIVE WITH LAST ACTION HERO. During “Beyond Hill and Dale,” do not retrieve the ribbon from the Little Flint Girl. Proceed through the quest normally. After the confrontation with Dettlaff, Geralt will be imprisoned in Toussaint, unlocking this achievement. This is the alternate, darker ending path.
How to get both mutually exclusive endings: Before retrieving or refusing the ribbon during “Beyond Hill and Dale,” make a manual save in a separate slot. Complete one ending, unlock its achievement, then load that save and take the other path to unlock the second. This avoids a full DLC replay.
How to Unlock Walked the Path (Death March Guide)
Walked the Path is the gold-tier achievement (or gold trophy on PlayStation) for completing the entire base game on Death March difficulty. It is the rarest achievement in the game with an unlock rate around 2% on PS5. Here is what you need to know:
Death March Rules
- Enemies deal significantly more damage and have more health.
- Geralt cannot regenerate health by meditating. He can only restore health through Swallow potion, food, or specific decoctions.
- You must never change the difficulty at any point during the playthrough. Dropping difficulty even once, even temporarily, voids the achievement permanently for that save. Start on Death March and stay on it until the credits roll.
- The achievement unlocks when you complete the main story. Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine completions are not required for this specific achievement.
Death March Tips
- Prepare before every fight. Apply the right sword oil for the enemy type (Specter Oil for ghosts, Cursed Oil for werewolves, etc.). Use Thunderbolt potion before hard fights for the damage boost.
- Stock Swallow at all times. This is your primary healing outside of food. Always brew it before exploring dungeons or starting contracts.
- Level up Quen early. The protective shield is your most important tool on Death March. A single Quen block absorbs damage that would kill you instantly on this difficulty.
- Avoid early-game fights against overleveled enemies. If an enemy skull appears over their health bar, retreat. Come back when you are within a few levels.
- Use the environment. Knock enemies off cliffs with Aard, trap them in tight spaces, use bombs to create crowd control.
- Consider New Game+. If you have already beaten the game once, starting Death March on NG+ gives you all your skills and gear from the start, making the difficulty much more manageable.
- For an optimized build on Death March, check our Witcher 3 Remastered best builds guide and our skill tree guide.
The Most Missable Achievements — At a Glance
These are the achievements most commonly missed in a first playthrough. Check them before progressing past each listed point:
- Friends With Benefits — Complete Keira Metz’s full questline and send her to Kaer Morhen. Must be done before Isle of Mists.
- Full Crew — Recruit all seven allies for the Kaer Morhen battle. Requires completing multiple subplots. Miss any one ally and the achievement fails.
- Assassin of Kings — Requires a specific political path in Novigrad. Side with the right factions at each point.
- Card Collector — Challenge every named NPC to Gwent before finishing their quest. Several cards are permanently gone if you miss their quest window.
- Gwent Master — Complete the High Stakes tournament in Novigrad. The quest has specific unlock requirements.
- David and Golyat — First moments of Blood and Wine. Use the crossbow on the eye during the opening.
- A Knight to Remember — Win every round in the Blood and Wine tournament without a single loss.
- Shopaholic — Buy every item at the Auction House during Hearts of Stone.
- Curator of Nightmares — Trigger all of Iris’ memories in the Painted World. Do not leave early.
- Last Action Hero / Kling of the Clink — Mutually exclusive. Save before the branching point to get both.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does The Witcher 3 Remastered have its own separate achievement list?
No. CD Projekt confirmed that The Witcher 3 Remastered is an update to the existing game rather than a new edition with its own list. All existing achievements and trophies carry over. Previously unlocked ones remain unlocked, and unfinished progress continues after the update.
Can I get Walked the Path on New Game+?
Yes. You can complete New Game+ on Death March to unlock Walked the Path. NG+ is often recommended because you start with your full build, making the early game — the hardest part of Death March — much more manageable.
Can I lower the difficulty during a Death March run and raise it back again?
No. The achievement tracks whether you have ever changed the difficulty down during that playthrough. Lowering it, even briefly, permanently voids Walked the Path for that save. Never touch the difficulty option until after the credits roll.
What happens if I miss the Keira Metz questline?
If you complete The Isle of Mists before finishing Keira’s full questline, Friends With Benefits becomes permanently unavailable on that save. Additionally, she will not appear at Kaer Morhen, making Full Crew also impossible without all seven required allies. These are the two most commonly missed achievements in the entire game.
Is it possible to get both Last Action Hero and Kling of the Clink on the same save?
Yes, but you need to use a manual save. Before the branching point in Blood and Wine’s “Beyond Hill and Dale” quest — specifically when deciding whether to get the ribbon from the Little Flint Girl — create a hard save in a dedicated slot. Complete one path, get the achievement, load the save, then take the other path. This avoids replaying the entire DLC.
Do I need to complete all DLC quests to get Card Collector?
No. Card Collector only requires base game cards. Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine Gwent cards are separate and do not count toward this achievement. The I Have a Gwent Problem achievement covers the Skellige deck added in Blood and Wine.
How many Witcher contracts are needed for Geralt: The Professional?
There are 26 base game contracts. DLC contracts — including “The Beast of Honorton” and “Skellige’s Most Wanted” — do not count. All 26 base contracts must be completed.
What is the fastest way to unlock Globetrotter?
Stick to roads when traveling and always stop to interact with every signpost you pass. You do not need to go out of your way — just follow roads naturally as you pursue main and side quests. Most players unlock Globetrotter’s 100 signpost requirement after completing all of Velen and beginning Skellige. For more on signposts, see our Witcher 3 Remastered fast travel guide.
