Carlotta is a 5-star Glacio Pistol resonator and the second daughter of the Montelli family in Rinascita. She debuted as the first limited 5-star in Version 2.0 and the first pistol-wielding 5-star in the game. She has held her place as the premier Glacio DPS ever since.

Carlotta’s combat style is ranged, precise, and rotation-focused. She excels at single-target boss damage and delivers her highest output through a tight skill loop involving two resources: Moldable Crystals and Substance. She is beginner-friendly once you understand what each resource does, and she has one of the cleanest rotations of any DPS character in the game.

Nearly 80% of her total damage is classified as Resonance Skill DMG — including her Liberation’s attack sequence. This makes her build straightforward: stack Resonance Skill DMG amplification, Glacio DMG Bonus, and Crit. There is very little ambiguity about what she wants.

Carlotta Kit Breakdown: Moldable Crystals, Substance, and Deconstruction

Carlotta has two Forte resources that drive all her combat decisions. Here is exactly how both work.

Moldable Crystals: The Input Resource

Moldable Crystals are the first resource Carlotta generates. She gains them from:

Resonance Skill: Art of Violence (Stage 1) — fires a shot that immobilizes enemies for 1.5 seconds (Dispersion) and provides Moldable Crystals
Intro Skill (Wintertime Aria) — instantly grants 3 Moldable Crystals and 30 Substance
Enhanced Basic Attacks (Necessary Measures) — available when she has Moldable Crystals; each enhanced hit consumes 1 Crystal
Heavy Attack, Dodge Counter, and Mid-air attacks

When Carlotta activates Stage 1 of her Resonance Skill, she can immediately follow up with Stage 2 (Chromatic Splendor), which consumes ALL her Moldable Crystals at once for massive Glacio DMG. This is her most efficient Substance-building move and the fastest path to unlocking her Heavy Attack and Liberation buffs.

Substance: The Power Resource

Substance is Carlotta’s Forte Circuit gauge, capped at 120. Consuming Moldable Crystals — especially through Chromatic Splendor — is how she fills it. Substance enables two critical states:

Final Bow: When Substance reaches 120, Carlotta enters Final Bow. While in this state, the DMG multipliers of her Resonance Liberation’s Death Knell and Fatal Finale are increased by 80%. This is a massive damage amplifier — always reach full Substance before using Liberation.
Heavy Attack: Containment Tactics (base) and Imminent Oblivion (timed): When Substance is full, her Heavy Attack upgrades. Containment Tactics deals Glacio DMG and reduces Art of Violence’s cooldown by 6 seconds. Imminent Oblivion — only available when the Tinted Crystal is active (every 22 seconds) — deals 800%+ Glacio DMG as Resonance Skill DMG, reduces the Skill cooldown by 6 seconds, and puts her into the Grand Unveiling state, boosting the Liberation multipliers even further on top of Final Bow.

Resonance Liberation: Era of New Wave and Twilight Tango

Carlotta’s Liberation is the centerpiece of her damage. Casting it deals AoE Glacio DMG (Era of New Wave), inflicts Deconstruction on all targets hit, and activates Twilight Tango:

Deconstruction: All damage Carlotta deals to Deconstructed enemies ignores 18% of their DEF. This is a permanent DEF shred during her Liberation window, and her Inherent Skill ensures it stays active beyond the initial blast.
Twilight Tango: During this state, Carlotta fires Death Knell shots with each Normal Attack or Liberation input, each generating 1 Meta Vector. When she accumulates 4 Meta Vectors, she can fire Fatal Finale — a devastating finisher that is also classified as Resonance Skill DMG. Getting as many Death Knell and Fatal Finale shots off within the 10-second window before Twilight Tango ends is the priority for her on-field time.

Critically, all damage inside Twilight Tango — Death Knell, Fatal Finale — is considered Resonance Skill DMG. This is why her Liberation contributes ~53% of her total damage despite looking like a “liberation” on the skill screen. It all scales from her Resonance Skill DMG stat.

Best Carlotta Weapons in Wuthering Waves

Carlotta uses Pistols. Her best weapons all amplify Resonance Skill DMG, which is where nearly all of her output comes from.

1. The Last Dance (5-Star Signature) – Best in Slot

The Last Dance is Carlotta’s signature weapon and her undisputed best-in-slot. It provides 24% ATK and its passive — every time she casts her Intro Skill or Resonance Liberation, her Resonance Skill DMG Bonus increases by 96% for 5 seconds. Both her Intro and Liberation fire every rotation, meaning this buff is active during the most important damage windows (Liberation shots and Chromatic Splendor). No other Pistol comes close for amplifying her core damage type. Highly recommended if you plan to use Carlotta as a long-term main DPS.

2. Static Mist (4-Star)

The best accessible non-signature weapon for Carlotta. It provides Energy Regen as a substat, boosts the incoming character’s ATK after she uses her Outro Skill, and its substat helps her reach the 120% Energy Regen breakpoint more easily. A practical and strong choice for F2P players.

3. Guardian Pistols (4-Star, Craftable) – Best F2P Option

Craftable and free. Provides ATK% and a 12% Resonance Skill DMG Bonus. Directly feeds into Carlotta’s main damage type and costs no Astrite to obtain. The best starting weapon for players who just pulled Carlotta without her signature.

4. Thunderbolt (4-Star)

Another 4-star option that provides Resonance Skill DMG boosts. Works well if you have good rolls on it and need the extra Skill DMG amplification before farming better options.

5. Undying Flame (4-Star)

Grants a Resonance Skill DMG Bonus that stacks with repeated Skill use. A functional 4-star alternative if the above options are unavailable.

Best Carlotta Echo Sets in Wuthering Waves

Carlotta’s echo set is one of the most clear-cut choices in the game. There is one dominant set and a secondary option for early game.

Frosty Resolve (5-Piece) – Best in Slot

Frosty Resolve is Carlotta’s definitive echo set, introduced in Version 2.0 essentially designed for her kit. The 2-piece effect gives a Resonance Skill DMG Bonus. The 5-piece effect is the reason this set is so strong: casting her Resonance Skill grants a 22.5% Glacio DMG Bonus for 15 seconds, and casting her Resonance Liberation increases Resonance Skill DMG by an additional 18% per stack, up to 2 stacks. Since Carlotta uses both her Skill and Liberation every rotation, the full 5-piece effect is always active during her damage window. Given that ~80% of her damage is Resonance Skill DMG and it is also Glacio type, this set doubles down on both her primary stats at the same time.

Freezing Frost (5-Piece) – Alternative

A solid older Glacio set that stacks Glacio DMG Bonus from Basic Attacks up to 3 times. Less damage than Frosty Resolve in Carlotta’s optimal rotation since she does not weave many Basic Attacks, but a reasonable placeholder while you farm Frosty Resolve pieces. Works best if you already have high-quality Freezing Frost echoes with good Crit substats.

2-Piece Frosty Resolve + 2-Piece Freezing Frost or Lingering Tunes

A transitional hybrid for early game before you complete the 5-piece Frosty Resolve. Gives you the Resonance Skill DMG from Frosty Resolve 2-piece and either Glacio DMG or ATK% from the paired set. Upgrade to full 5-piece as soon as you have sufficient Waveplate budget.

Best Main Echo for Carlotta

Sentry Construct – Best in Slot

Sentry Construct is Carlotta’s best main echo by a significant margin. Equipped in the main slot, it gives 12% Glacio DMG Bonus and 12% Resonance Skill DMG Bonus — both of Carlotta’s primary stat amplifiers in one echo. Its echo skill transforms into the Sentry Construct and fires a powerful 405% Glacio DMG blast. Each time Carlotta casts her Resonance Liberation, the Sentry Construct’s Strike Capacitor charges — enabling it to freeze enemies when deployed. This defensive utility is a bonus; the double 12% passive on the main slot is why you use it.

Lampylumen Myriad – Alternative

A viable alternative for players who have not yet obtained a good Sentry Construct echo with the right main stats. It provides Glacio DMG Bonus and has AoE utility. In multi-enemy scenarios Lampylumen Myriad performs comparably to Sentry Construct, but in single-target boss fights, Sentry Construct edges ahead. Farm Sentry Construct as your priority.

Best Echo Stats and Sub-Stats for Carlotta

Carlotta wants Crit, Glacio DMG, and Resonance Skill DMG. Since her Liberation is also counted as Skill DMG, Resonance Skill DMG Bonus is her most universal damage amplifier beyond Crit.

Important note: Energy Regen is the first stat to hit a breakpoint for Carlotta. Without ~120% ER, her Liberation will not be available every rotation, breaking the Final Bow state loop and dramatically cutting her damage. Prioritize hitting the ER target before optimizing Crit. If substats cannot reach 120%, use a Cost-3 Energy Regen echo as a last resort — the damage drop from doing so is less than missing Liberation entirely.

Carlotta Skill Priority

Carlotta’s damage distribution makes her skill priorities clear: Liberation is the top target because it contributes the most damage (53%), followed by Resonance Skill (24%), then Forte Circuit.

Resonance Liberation (Top Priority) — Era of New Wave and the Death Knell/Fatal Finale sequence inside Twilight Tango account for approximately 53% of Carlotta’s total damage. All of this is classified as Resonance Skill DMG, so Liberation level directly raises her biggest damage multipliers. Level this first.
Resonance Skill — Art of Violence and Chromatic Splendor contribute about 24% of total damage and are how she generates Substance. The Chromatic Splendor multiplier scales directly with level. Second priority.
Forte Circuit — Heavy Attack: Imminent Oblivion and Containment Tactics contribute ~11% of total damage. Important to level but a step behind the above two. Third priority.
Basic Attack — Enhanced Basic Attacks (Necessary Measures) and standard shots make up the remainder. Worth upgrading after the top three.
Intro Skill — Lowest priority. Provides Moldable Crystals and 30 Substance on entry, but the multiplier increase from leveling it is the smallest of all her skills.

Best Carlotta Teams in Wuthering Waves

Carlotta is a hyper-carry who needs Resonance Skill DMG amplification and Crit buffs. Her supports should spend minimal time on-field so she can maximize her Twilight Tango window.

Team 1 (Best): Carlotta + Zhezhi + Shorekeeper

The premium Carlotta team and one of the strongest team compositions in Wuthering Waves. Zhezhi is Carlotta’s ideal partner — her Outro Skill (Carve and Draw) provides a Resonance Skill DMG increase that directly amplifies Carlotta’s entire damage output. Her Coordinated Attacks also help passively build toward the next Intro rotation. Shorekeeper provides a substantial Crit Rate and Crit DMG buff through her Stellarealm, plus team healing. Combined, Zhezhi’s Skill DMG Outro and Shorekeeper’s Crit amplification push Carlotta’s damage to peak levels.

Team 2: Carlotta + Zhezhi + Verina

The best accessible alternative if you do not have Shorekeeper. Zhezhi still provides the Resonance Skill DMG Outro. Verina handles healing and contributes a 15% All-Type DMG Deepen buff via her Outro plus a 20% ATK buff from her inherent skill. A very strong and reliable team that does not require any limited support characters beyond Zhezhi.

Team 3: Carlotta + Lynae + Mornye

A newer team composition introduced in Version 3.0. Mornye and Lynae both provide All-Type DMG Amplification that Carlotta benefits from significantly. This team also activates Tune Break mechanics, which add a notable damage bonus when triggered correctly each rotation. A strong alternative if you have these characters built and want a fresh team setup.

Team 4: Carlotta + Verina + Sanhua (Budget)

A budget-friendly composition for players who do not have Zhezhi or Shorekeeper. Verina handles healing and the team-wide DMG Deepen buff. Sanhua provides a 38% Basic Attack DMG Outro (which helps Carlotta’s Necessary Measures) and has an extremely fast rotation, keeping her Outro uptime high. Not as powerful as premium setups but perfectly functional for Tower of Adversity farming.

What Makes a Good Carlotta Partner?

Carlotta needs two things from her teammates: Resonance Skill DMG amplification and fast rotations. Supports with fast Concerto generation are ideal — they minimize time off-field and maximize how often Carlotta can enter Twilight Tango. Characters whose Outro Skils provide Resonance Skill DMG (like Zhezhi) are her most valuable partners. Crit-focused supports like Shorekeeper are excellent secondaries.

Carlotta Rotation Guide

Carlotta’s rotation is tight and straightforward once you know the resource loop. The core goal: fill Substance to 120 before Liberation, then spend as much time as possible in Twilight Tango firing Death Knell shots.

Standard Carlotta Rotation (with Zhezhi + Shorekeeper)

Start on Shorekeeper. Use her Resonance Skill and Normal Attacks to build Resonance Liberation energy and charge Stellar Concerto. Cast her Liberation when available to activate Stellarealm buffs for the team.
Swap to Zhezhi once Shorekeeper’s Concerto is full, triggering Shorekeeper’s Outro (Crit buffs active). Use Zhezhi’s combo to summon Phantasmic Imprints and charge her Liberation. Cast her Liberation for additional buffs, then swap to Carlotta once Zhezhi’s Concerto is full, triggering Zhezhi’s Outro (Resonance Skill DMG Bonus active for Carlotta).
Enter on Carlotta with Intro Skill (Wintertime Aria) — instantly grants 3 Moldable Crystals and 30 Substance. Triggers The Last Dance weapon passive (+96% Resonance Skill DMG for 5 seconds).
Immediately use Resonance Skill Stage 1 (Art of Violence) to apply Dispersion on the enemy and gain more Moldable Crystals. Then follow up with Resonance Skill Stage 2 (Chromatic Splendor) to consume all Crystals and fill Substance efficiently.
Activate Echo Skill (Sentry Construct) for additional damage and to begin charging the Strike Capacitor.
Check Tinted Crystal status. If the Tinted Crystal is active (red indicator), use Heavy Attack: Imminent Oblivion before Liberation — it deals 800%+ Glacio Resonance Skill DMG and reduces the Skill cooldown by 6 seconds. Skip if not available.
With Substance at 120 (Final Bow state), cast Resonance Liberation (Era of New Wave). The Liberation blast applies Deconstruction (18% DEF Ignore) and activates Twilight Tango.
During Twilight Tango (10 seconds), fire as many Death Knell shots as possible using Normal Attack. Collect 4 Meta Vectors and trigger Fatal Finale for the finisher shot. Use Resonance Skill again if it has come off cooldown during this window — the Chromatic Splendor inside the Liberation window counts as Resonance Skill DMG with DEF Ignore active.
Swap out when Concerto Energy is full (or after the Fatal Finale) to repeat the cycle.

Pro tip: Finish all your Death Knell shots within 10 seconds after casting Liberation. The Twilight Tango window has a time limit. If you swap out or waste time repositioning, you lose Death Knell shots and the Meta Vectors needed for Fatal Finale. Stay focused and on target during the window.

Carlotta Resonance Chain: Is She Worth Pulling Dupes?

Carlotta is a limited 5-star. Her Resonance Chain nodes provide meaningful upgrades to both her personal and team damage.

S1: When Carlotta deals damage to a target inflicted with Deconstruction, the Crit Rate of that damage is increased by 12.5%. Since Deconstruction is active throughout her Liberation window, this is a flat Crit Rate boost on all her most important hits — Death Knell, Fatal Finale, Chromatic Splendor. Strong first dupe.
S2: When Resonance Skill: Chromatic Splendor hits a target inflicted with Dispersion, Carlotta additionally restores 30 Substance. This effectively gives her another 30 Substance each time she uses the full 2-stage Skill combo, reducing how much Basic Attack and resource management she needs between Liberation windows. Quality-of-life improvement.
S3: DMG Multiplier of Resonance Liberation Fatal Finale increased by 126%. Direct buff to her Liberation finisher — a large multiplier on one of her highest-damage single shots.
S4: At the end of her Outro Skill, Carlotta deals an additional Glacio strike equal to 1032% of her ATK. Also increases Resonance Skill (Art of Violence and Chromatic Splendor) DMG Multiplier by 93%. Massive personal damage increase. Very strong for dedicated players.
S5 and S6: Further multiplier scaling. High-end investment territory.

S0 Carlotta is a top-tier DPS and clears all endgame content with no issues. S1 is a clean Crit Rate upgrade that smooths her stat requirements. S3 and S4 are the big damage jumps for players investing heavily. No Resonance Chain is required to perform at a high level.

Ascension Materials (Character Level 1 to 90)

Sword Acorus x60 – Local specialty found primarily in Ragunna City, Rinascita. The majority of plants are located in the gardens and flower beds of the city itself, with smaller clusters in Egla Town and Averardo Vault. Also purchasable at Rosemary’s Apothecary in Ragunna City for 3,000 Shell Credits (up to 15 per week).
Platinum Core x46 – Dropped by the world boss Sentry Construct, located in the Averardo Vault area of Rinascita. Accessible early without significant story progression. The Sentry Construct also drops the echo of the same name, so you can farm both simultaneously.
Polygon Core (LF x4, MF x12, HF x12, FF x4) – Dropped by Clamorlings and Tranquilite enemies in Rinascita. Also obtainable as passive drops from any Forgery Challenge in Rinascita. Purchasable (LF and MF only) from the Masked Reverie shop in Ragunna City.
Shell Credits x170,000 – For full character ascension to Level 90.

Forte (Skill Upgrade) Materials

The Netherworld’s Stare x26 – Weekly boss drop from Hecate, unlocked through the “Beyond the Crimson Curtain” weekly challenge in Rinascita. Requires story progression to unlock. Maximum 3 per week.
Phlogiston materials (Impure, Extracted, Refined, Flawless) – Pistol Forgery Challenge materials. Farm from the Marigold Woods Forgery Challenge in Huanglong or the Abyss of Confession Forgery Challenge in Rinascita. The Rinascita challenge also drops Polygon Cores passively, making it the recommended farming route.
Polygon Core (LF x25, MF x28, HF x40, FF x57) – Same source as ascension materials above.
Shell Credits x2,030,000 – For fully upgrading all Forte Skills.

Carlotta Tips and Common Mistakes

Always fill Substance to 120 before casting Liberation. The Final Bow state’s 80% Liberation DMG Multiplier boost only activates when Substance is full. Casting Liberation before reaching 120 Substance means your Death Knell and Fatal Finale shots deal significantly less damage. This is the single biggest rotation mistake Carlotta players make.
Prioritize Energy Regen to 120% first. Without Liberation on cycle, you lose the Frosty Resolve 5-piece Resonance Skill DMG stack and the Final Bow state. Missing one Liberation per rotation is a large DPS loss, bigger than the Crit stats you would have gotten from ignoring ER.
Stay on-field during Twilight Tango. Carlotta is a hyper-carry who needs field time. Swapping out during the Liberation window cancels Twilight Tango and you lose Death Knell shots and Meta Vectors for Fatal Finale. Do not swap until the window closes or Concerto is full after the Fatal Finale.
Enter with Intro Skill when possible. The Intro grants 3 Moldable Crystals and 30 Substance instantly — a significant head start for filling the Forte gauge before using Liberation. Always have Concerto Energy ready on your previous character before swapping to Carlotta.
Watch for the Tinted Crystal timer. Imminent Oblivion is only available every 22 seconds when the Tinted Crystal turns red. When it is active and your Substance is full, use it before Liberation — it deals 800%+ Glacio Resonance Skill DMG and reduces the Skill cooldown by 6 seconds, enabling an extra Chromatic Splendor inside the Liberation window.
Double Glacio DMG on Cost-3 echoes. Do not use ATK% on a Cost-3 slot for Carlotta. Glacio DMG directly amplifies ~80% of her output. An ATK% Cost-3 echo is a strictly inferior choice.

Is Carlotta Worth Pulling in 2026?

Yes. Carlotta is the best Glacio DPS in Wuthering Waves and remains one of the strongest main carry options available. The Glacio roster is smaller than other elements, which means she faces less competition from within her own attribute type. Her playstyle is forgiving, her rotation is clean, and she delivers excellent damage in both Tower of Adversity and open-world content.

She is not the meta-dominating pick she was at launch (the Negative Status and Aero archetypes have grown significantly), but she is far from obsolete. In her optimal team with Zhezhi and Shorekeeper, she produces top-tier damage numbers. She is especially valuable for players who do not want a complex rotation — her ceiling is high and her floor is forgiving.
