Some characters get released, shine for a patch or two, and quietly fade into the background. Jinhsi isn’t one of those. She debuted back in Version 1.1 as the third limited 5-star in Wuthering Waves, and she’s still sitting comfortably in S-tier heading into Version 3.2 in April 2026. The reason is simple — her kit is genuinely excellent. Multi-form gameplay, great AoE coverage, Spectro burst damage that scales beautifully with buffs, and a Unison mechanic that makes rotations more flexible than almost anyone else in the game.
She does have one real demand: she needs teammates with Coordinated Attacks to hit her damage ceiling. But once that’s taken care of, she’s one of the most complete Main DPS characters the game has to offer.
This guide covers everything you need — kit breakdown, best weapons, echo sets, team comps, rotation, and skill priority — updated for 3.2.
Who Is Jinhsi?
Jinhsi is the Magistrate of Jinzhou, gently described as someone who brightens the hopes of her people like rays of winter sunlight. She’s the city’s civil leader, deeply connected to Jué, the great Sentinel dragon of Mt. Firmament, who she resonates with directly. She was born a Congenital Resonator and nearly died as a child — Jué saved her, and their bond has shaped everything about who she is.
In combat, she’s a 5-star Spectro Broadblade Main DPS. Her style blends quick mid-air strikes, aerial repositioning, and multi-form ability cycling to deliver massive bursts of Spectro damage. She works beautifully against both single targets and groups, is comfortable in ranged combat, and her Unison mechanic gives her rotation a unique flexibility that most DPS characters simply don’t have.
What she does well:
- Massive Resonance Skill burst damage via Incandescence stacking
- Excellent AoE coverage through her Liberation and Forte Circuit abilities
- Flexible rotations thanks to her unique Unison mechanic
- Scales extremely well with coordinated-attack supports
- Comfortable to play once you understand her multi-form structure
The one thing to be aware of going in: she genuinely relies on Coordinated Attack teammates to charge her Incandescence fast enough to maximize Illuminous Epiphany — her primary nuke. Without that, her ceiling drops noticeably. With it, she’s an absolute powerhouse.

Jinhsi’s Kit — What You Need to Understand
Her kit has multiple interacting systems. Breaking it down clearly makes the rotation feel natural instead of chaotic.
Forte Circuit — Incandescence & Eras in Unity
This is the engine of her damage. When Jinhsi is in the party, all nearby resonators gain the Eras in Unity effect. This passive mechanic causes:
- Jinhsi to gain 1 Incandescence anytime a party member deals Attribute DMG (once per attribute per 3 seconds)
- Jinhsi to gain 2 Incandescence whenever a party member lands a Coordinated Attack (once per attribute per 3 seconds)
Incandescence caps at 50. This is why Coordinated Attack characters are so important to her — they generate twice the Incandescence per hit, letting her nuke significantly harder.
On top of that, her Inherent Skills extend these thresholds: same-Attribute damage can generate Incandescence once per second (down from once per 3 seconds) for 20 seconds during her enhanced state, which massively accelerates her stack generation during her active window.
Resonance Skill — Three Forms: Overflowing Radiance → Crescent Divinity → Illuminous Epiphany
Jinhsi’s Resonance Skill cycles through three distinct versions depending on her state:
Overflowing Radiance — available after using Basic Attack 4 or after her Intro Skill. This cast deals Spectro damage and sends Jinhsi into Incarnation state.
Crescent Divinity — available while in Incarnation. Deals Spectro damage and is part of building toward Ordination Glow.
Illuminous Epiphany — the big one. After completing 4 Basic Attacks in Incarnation state, Jinhsi exits Incarnation and gains Ordination Glow. With Ordination Glow active, her Resonance Skill becomes Illuminous Epiphany — a solar flare that detonates as Stella Glamour, consuming up to 50 Incandescence and granting additional DMG multiplier for each point consumed. Each stack of Herald of Revival (built through Incarnation Basic Attacks) increases Illuminous Epiphany damage by an additional 20% per stack, up to 4 stacks.
After casting Illuminous Epiphany, Jinhsi gains Unison — a mechanic that lets her swap off-field without spending Concerto Energy, triggering both her Outro Skill and the incoming character’s Intro Skill. This resets every 25 seconds and is at the core of what makes her rotation so efficient.
The bottom line on damage distribution: approximately 74% of her damage comes from Forte Circuit (which includes Illuminous Epiphany), and around 18% from her Resonance Liberation. Basic Attacks and Intro Skill are relatively minor contributors.
Resonance Liberation — Purge of Light
Her Liberation deals wide-area Spectro damage and grants all nearby party members a 20% Attribute DMG Bonus for 20 seconds. It’s a meaningful team buff on top of a solid personal damage hit. Importantly, her Inherent Skill notes that when Resonance Liberation or Illuminous Epiphany is used, all nearby resonators gain this Attribute DMG Bonus — so the timing of Liberation placement matters for buffing the whole team’s window.
Intro Skill — Loong’s Halo
Her Intro Skill deals Spectro damage and, critically, it also unlocks Overflowing Radiance immediately — bypassing the need to hit 4 Basic Attacks first. This is why in most rotations you come back to Jinhsi via a swap-in rather than manually attacking to the 4th hit — the Intro shortcut gets her to her damage phase much faster and significantly improves rotation speed.
Best Weapons for Jinhsi
1. Ages of Harvest (Signature — Best in Slot)
Her signature Broadblade is the only weapon that directly buffs her Forte Circuit mechanic. It provides CRIT Rate as a substat and grants 24% Attribute DMG Bonus plus 48% Resonance Skill DMG Bonus after using an Intro Skill (Ageless Marking), and another 48% Resonance Skill DMG Bonus after using a Resonance Skill (Ethereal Endowment). Both effects proc consistently in her standard rotation, making this a significant damage lead over alternatives.
2. Verdant Summit (5-Star Generalist)
A strong generalist Broadblade with CRIT Rate substat. While it lacks the Resonance Skill-specific bonuses of Ages of Harvest, the high base stats and CRIT Rate are genuinely valuable on Jinhsi. A competitive option if you have it from other limited banners.
3. Autumntrace (5-Star Alternative)
Provides CRIT Rate and ATK scaling that meshes reasonably well with Jinhsi’s build. Not top-tier compared to her signature but performs solidly, especially when paired with a full Celestial Light echo set.
4. Lustrous Razor (5-Star Standard)
Available through standard convene. Good ATK and Energy Regen substat — the Energy Regen is somewhat redundant for Jinhsi since she doesn’t need Liberation every rotation, but the base stats are competitive enough to be a reliable placeholder.
5. Broadblade of Night (F2P Pick)
The best free option available. Obtained through chest exploration, it provides an ATK stat boost that helps compensate for Jinhsi’s base ATK being on the lower end. If you’re F2P or haven’t pulled a 5-star Broadblade, this is where you start.
Best Echo Sets for Jinhsi
Celestial Light (5-Piece) — Best in Slot
Celestial Light is built for Spectro DPS characters and Jinhsi is its ideal user. The 5-piece bonus gives a significant Spectro DMG Bonus and triggers an additional Resonance Skill DMG increase after Intro Skill usage — which Jinhsi activates every single rotation thanks to her Unison mechanic. The set bonus activation condition aligns perfectly with how she plays naturally.
Main Echo: Jué — by far the best choice. When you use the Jué echo skill, it summons Jinhsi’s Sentinel companion to deal Spectro damage across multiple hits, applies Resonance Skill DMG Bonus via Blessing of Time (+16% Resonance Skill DMG for 15 seconds), and serves as a Coordinated Attack to boot — generating Incandescence while also dealing direct damage. Use Jué’s skill before firing off Illuminous Epiphany to maximize the damage window.
Alternative Main Echo: Mourning Aix — a solid substitute if you don’t have Jué with ideal stats. Same stat priority applies.
Celestial Light (3-Piece) + Lingering Tunes (2-Piece) — Budget Alternative
If you’re still farming the full 5-piece Celestial Light, mixing in 2-piece Lingering Tunes gives an ATK% bonus that partially compensates for the missing set effects. It’s a reasonable transitional build but not something to stay on permanently. Mech Abomination works well as the main echo here since it provides a meaningful ATK% boost to compensate for Jinhsi’s lower base ATK stat.
Echo Distribution & Stat Priority
Echo cost distribution: 4-3-3-1-1
Main Stats:
- 4-Cost: CRIT Rate or CRIT DMG (target 1:2 ratio overall)
- 3-Cost: Spectro DMG Bonus
- 1-Cost: ATK%
Sub-Stat Priority:
- CRIT Rate / CRIT DMG — maintain roughly 1:2 ratio
- ATK%
- Resonance Skill DMG%
- Energy Regen — some is helpful, but don’t over-invest; Liberation doesn’t need to fire every rotation
- Flat ATK — filler only
One note on Energy Regen: unlike some other DPS characters, Jinhsi doesn’t strictly need her Liberation every single rotation to perform well. Her primary damage comes from Illuminous Epiphany, not Liberation. A modest amount of ER to make Liberation available during good timing windows is fine, but you shouldn’t sacrifice CRIT or ATK stats to force Liberation on cycle every rotation.
Skill Priority
Jinhsi’s damage breakdown tells you exactly where to invest: Forte Circuit accounts for roughly 74% of her total output, Liberation around 18%, and everything else is relatively minor.
Priority order: Forte Circuit → Resonance Liberation → Resonance Skill → Intro Skill → Basic Attack
Don’t neglect Liberation after Forte Circuit — it contributes both direct damage and the team-wide Attribute DMG Bonus that benefits your supports as well. Resonance Skill comes next, Basic Attack is the lowest priority since raw attack level investment returns minimal gains compared to the others.
Best Teams for Jinhsi in 3.2
Team 1: Jinhsi + Zhezhi + Shorekeeper (Meta Comp — Best Overall)
This is the gold standard Jinhsi team and it holds up in 3.2 without question. Zhezhi and Jinhsi have one of the strongest synergies in the game — their Coordinated Attacks feed each other’s mechanics, and Zhezhi’s Outro Skill boosts Resonance Skill DMG directly for Jinhsi’s Illuminous Epiphany window. Shorekeeper covers CRIT Rate and CRIT DMG through Stellarealm while also providing healing, making this team comfortable to play in any content.
This team also benefits from the fact that Zhezhi’s attacks generate Incandescence for Jinhsi even from off-field, keeping her gauge charged efficiently between rotations.
For the full picture on Zhezhi’s role in this team, her dedicated guide covers her build and rotation in detail.
Team 2: Jinhsi + Zhezhi + Verina (Comfort Comp)
Swapping Shorekeeper for Verina gives you one of the game’s fastest support rotations paired with team-wide ATK% buffing and 15% DMG Amplification from Verina’s Outro. Verina also deals Coordinated Attacks, which means she’s actively contributing to Jinhsi’s Incandescence stack generation while supporting. This is the comp to run if you don’t have Shorekeeper or want a more forgiving playstyle in harder content.
Team 3: Jinhsi + Changli + Verina / Shorekeeper (Expert Quickswap)
The Jinhsi and Changli pairing is well known for pushing some of the highest Expert quickswap DPS in the game. Changli’s aggressive Fusion attacks synergize with Jinhsi’s Incandescence generation through constant Coordinated-style damage pressure. The catch: this comp has a steep skill requirement. The quickswap timing between these two characters demands practice, and sloppy execution drops the damage significantly. Strong ceiling, high floor — only recommended if you’re comfortable with advanced rotations.
Team 4: Jinhsi + Cantarella + Support
Cantarella brings off-field Coordinated Attacks that help Jinhsi build Incandescence without demanding field time from the support slot. It’s a less conventional pairing but works well if you have Cantarella built and need a Zhezhi alternative.
Team 5: F2P Budget — Jinhsi + Yuanwu + Baizhi
The best free-to-play option. Yuanwu’s Thunder Wedge placement generates Coordinated Attacks from off-field with essentially zero investment required, making him the most efficient free Incandescence generator for Jinhsi at minimal field time cost. Baizhi handles healing and funnels energy. The rotation is slightly different from the meta comp — Jinhsi goes first in this setup — but it’s genuinely viable for clearing all content including Tower of Adversity. Strongly recommended for F2P players who want Jinhsi to perform without pulling specific limited supports.
Rotation Guide
Jinhsi has one of the more intricate rotation structures in the game, but the standard version is approachable once you understand what each step is doing.
Standard Rotation (Jinhsi + Zhezhi + Shorekeeper):
- Start on Shorekeeper — generate Flare Star and Dim Star Butterflies through Normal Attacks and Resonance Skill. Activate her Resonance Liberation.
- Swap to Zhezhi — trigger Intro Skill to advance Shorekeeper’s field stage. Run Zhezhi’s full combo: charge Forte Circuit gauge, use Resonance Skill, Basic Attacks to summon Phantasmic Imprints, use Liberation if available, fill Concerto Energy.
- Swap to Jinhsi via Outro — Zhezhi’s Outro buffs Resonance Skill DMG. Jinhsi receives Loong’s Halo Intro Skill, which unlocks Overflowing Radiance immediately.
- Fire Jué echo skill — generates Incandescence and applies Blessing of Time (+16% Resonance Skill DMG).
- Overflowing Radiance (Resonance Skill 1) — enters Incarnation state.
- 4x Incarnation Basic Attacks — builds Herald of Revival stacks (up to 4) and generates Incandescence from Zhezhi’s off-field attacks and Shorekeeper’s continuing buffs.
- Crescent Divinity (Resonance Skill 2) — deals damage and primes Ordination Glow.
- Illuminous Epiphany (Resonance Skill 3) — the main nuke. Fires Solar Flare and consumes up to 50 Incandescence plus all Herald of Revival stacks. This is the big number. Make sure you have as close to 50 Incandescence as possible before this fires.
- Unison swap — Jinhsi gains Unison after Illuminous Epiphany. Swap to Shorekeeper or Zhezhi without spending Concerto Energy to trigger their Intro and restart the support cycle.
- Use Resonance Liberation somewhere during the rotation when it’s available — timing it before Illuminous Epiphany gets both the damage hit and the team-wide 20% Attribute DMG Bonus in the same window.
The key things to nail: always enter Jinhsi’s damage phase via Intro Skill swap (not Basic Attack 4), always use Jué before Illuminous Epiphany, and always have Incandescence as close to 50 as possible before firing the nuke.
For advanced players: Jinhsi’s Unison allows multiple Outro procs per rotation. You can chain Outro → Intro → Illuminous Epiphany more than once in longer rotations, which is what elevates her ceiling when played at the Expert level.
Resonance Chain (Constellations)
Jinhsi is strong at C0 and doesn’t require duplicates to perform. Her chain adds meaningful but not game-changing upgrades:
- C1: When Jinhsi casts Resonance Liberation or Illuminous Epiphany, all nearby resonators gain 20% Attribute DMG Bonus for 20 seconds. A solid team-wide buff that adds value in co-op or well-timed rotations.
- C2: Illuminous Epiphany DMG multiplier increases by 45%, and the Incandescence consumption bonus also increases by 45%. A significant personal damage spike and arguably the strongest individual sequence node.
- C3: Further boosts Liberation DMG multiplier by 120% — makes her Liberation a much more impactful part of each rotation.
- C4 and beyond: Additional buffs to her Incarnation state and Resonance Skill multipliers that deepen her damage potential.
- C6: Maximum investment with boosted Forte Circuit and Liberation interactions. Reserved for players going all-in.
C0 is absolutely playable in all content. C2 is the notable upgrade if you’re investing deeper — the 45% boost to Illuminous Epiphany is a major personal damage jump.
Ascension & Forte Materials
To fully level Jinhsi and max her skills, you’ll need:
- LF, MF, HF, and FF Howler Cores — from normal enemies, the store, the weapon shop, and Forgery Challenges
- Waveworn Residue variants — obtained from the Eroded Ruins Forgery Challenge, through the synthesizer, or from shops in Jinzhou
- Loong’s Pearl — a field-gathering material found across the Huanglong map region (the interactive map makes locating these much easier)
- Shell Credits — standard currency from farming, quests, and enemy drops
- Ascension Boss Material — from the relevant boss tied to Jinhsi’s ascension path
Level her to 90 first, then pour resources into Forte Circuit before anything else. Liberation second, Resonance Skill third.
Is Jinhsi Worth Building in 3.2?
Without question — yes. She’s been in the game since Version 1.1, has received reruns multiple times, and is still consistently rated S-tier in April 2026. The meta has evolved significantly around her, and she’s kept up with it. Her Celestial Light build is stable and well-understood, her rotations are optimizable to a high ceiling, and she doesn’t have glaring weaknesses in the content 3.2 offers.
The Endstate Matrix: Doomsday Cycle challenge introduced in 3.2 rewards fast clearing across multiple waves, and Jinhsi’s AoE coverage through Liberation and Illuminous Epiphany makes her genuinely comfortable there. For players running Tower of Adversity, she remains one of the most complete DPS choices available.
If you have her, keep her built. If you missed every rerun and are waiting for another, she’s absolutely worth your next round of Astrites.
Other S-Tier Characters Worth Building

Jinhsi has a longer learning curve than most DPS characters in Wuthering Waves, but the payoff is real. Once you get comfortable with the Unison mechanic, understand how Incandescence stacking works, and build a proper team around her Coordinated Attack needs — she delivers some of the most satisfying and impactful burst damage in the entire game. She’s been S-tier since day one for a reason, and 3.2 hasn’t changed that.
