Getting the Data Center Disguise in 007 First Light is one of the most satisfying stealth sequences in the Knightfall mission. Bond and Greenway reach the Perch together, but there is only one disguise — and sharing is not an option. Bond needs to find his own way in, and the solution is sitting right under your feet in the form of a robot vacuum cleaner.

This step is also a mission-critical objective, which means you have to do it to progress. But it also ties directly to two challenges — After Hours and Underdressed — so it is worth doing cleanly on the first attempt rather than rushing through and missing them. What Are the After Hours and Underdressed Challenges?

Both challenges are part of the Knightfall mission, which has 23 challenges in total. Completing all of them unlocks the White Tux outfit for Bond.

• After Hours — Enter the data center while wearing a disguise.
• Underdressed — Reach the data center without being spotted at any point along the way.

Both challenges are tied to the same sequence, and both can be completed in a single run as long as you do not get spotted while getting the disguise. If you are caught by either of the two guards in the service room, Underdressed will fail — but After Hours can still be earned as long as you put the uniform on and walk in. For the cleanest result, aim to complete both in one go using the method below.

When Does This Section Happen?

This section triggers immediately after you follow Greenway to the Perch data center. Once Greenway enters through the main doors using his clearance, Bond is left standing outside with no way in. The game will prompt you to find another route inside.

This is the moment to start the disguise hunt. Do not try to force your way in — the disguise is required to progress the story, so this is not optional. The challenge is in doing it without getting seen.

Step 1 — Scan the Vacuum Cleaner With the Q-Lens

Once Greenway heads inside and Bond is locked out, activate the Q-Lens (L1/LB) and look down at the floor area near the entrance. You will spot a robot vacuum cleaner moving around nearby.

Scan it. The Q-Lens will reveal that the vacuum is carrying a locker key inside its waste compartment. That key gives access to the locker room where the Perch uniform is stored.

You need to empty the vacuum to retrieve the key, and that means finding the recall station.

Step 2 — Find the Recall Station and Empty the Vacuum

Head left from the main entrance doors. Along this wall you will find the vacuum cleaner’s recall station. Press the button to call the vacuum back to its dock.

When the vacuum docks, it empties its contents — including the locker key. However, the key does not land in your hands directly. The contents are deposited into a waste disposal unit inside the room to the left.

This is where the challenge gets tricky. That room has two guards inside, and one is standing right at the door. If either of them spots you entering, the Underdressed challenge fails.

Step 3 — Get Past the Guards and Retrieve the Locker Key

Do not walk into the service room yet. Stand just outside the door where the guard is posted and use a Phone Dart on him. This sends him away from his post and clears the door.

Once he moves, step inside. There is still a second guard further into the room. Use the Q-Watch to hack the air conditioner on the wall. This releases a cloud of smoke that distracts both guards and clouds the area, giving you a clear window to move without being seen.

While both guards are distracted, walk to the waste disposal unit and interact with it to retrieve the locker key. Do this quickly — the smoke does not last forever.

Leave the room the same way you came in, staying out of both guards’ sightlines as the smoke clears. If you have done this correctly, neither guard will have spotted you and Underdressed remains active.

Step 4 — Go to the Locker Room and Get the Disguise

With the locker key in hand, head directly opposite the service room to find the locker room. This is a separate room and does not have the same guards, so you can enter without needing any distractions.

Inside, look for Locker 6 on your left. Open it with the key to find the Perch uniform — the disguise that matches exactly what staff wear inside the data center.

Put the uniform on. Bond is now dressed as a Perch staff member and can walk into the data center without raising suspicion.

Step 5 — Return to the Check-In Desk and Enter the Data Center

Head back toward the main entrance and approach the check-in desk. Wearing the uniform lets you pass through here without issue. Once inside, you will enter a room with other staff members moving around.

On the left side of this room, look for a photocopier. Interact with it to trigger a malfunction noise. The guard standing on the left will leave his post to go investigate.

While he moves away, walk down the path he was blocking and follow the linear route up the stairs. This takes you into the data center proper.

Once you are inside and have made it up the stairs, After Hours and Underdressed both unlock simultaneously — assuming you were not spotted during the locker key retrieval.

What Happens If You Get Spotted?

If one of the guards in the service room sees you, Underdressed fails immediately. You will not be able to recover it in the same run. However, After Hours can still pop as long as you get the disguise and walk into the data center wearing it.

If you miss Underdressed, use mission replay to jump back to this checkpoint and run it again cleanly. You do not need to restart the full mission — just select the relevant checkpoint from the Knightfall chapter.

Gadgets You Need for This Section

Two gadgets are essential for the cleanest run:

• Phone Dart — Used to send the door guard away from his post before you enter the service room. Without this, there is no safe way to approach the waste disposal while the guard is watching the entrance.
• Q-Watch — Used to hack the air conditioner and generate smoke inside the service room. This covers both remaining guards while you retrieve the key.

If you are short on charges, the Q-Lens is also useful throughout for scanning guards and identifying interactable objects before committing to a move. Make sure your loadout has at least the Phone Dart and Q-Watch before reaching this section. Can You Do This Without Gadgets?

Technically yes — but it is much harder. The Phone Dart and air conditioner hack are by far the cleanest approach. Without them, you would need to wait for guard patrol patterns and exploit gaps in their movement to sneak to the waste disposal. The timing is tighter and the margin for error is much smaller.

If you are attempting the To the Point challenge (reach the data center without using any gadgets), you will need to observe both guards carefully, wait for the one at the door to turn away, enter, and move to the disposal during the second guard’s blind spot — all without using any tools. This is significantly more difficult and is best attempted as its own dedicated run.

Tips for Getting Both Challenges in One Run

• Scan the vacuum before doing anything else. If you walk past it without scanning, you may not connect the recall station to the locker key chain. The Q-Lens scan is what flags the key as a target.
• Use the Phone Dart before entering the room, not after. If you step into the service room first and the door guard sees you, it is already too late for Underdressed. Send him away while you are still outside.
• Act quickly after the smoke drops. The air conditioner hack creates a distraction window, but it does not last long. Move to the disposal and get the key as soon as the smoke appears. Do not wait around inside the room.
• Exit the service room calmly. After grabbing the key, do not run. Walk back out the way you came in. Running can draw attention even when guards are distracted, depending on proximity.
• Use the photocopier before heading upstairs. This is the final guard between you and the challenge unlock. Interact with it before trying to walk past him — the distraction gives you a clear path to the stairs.
