The Bellboy Hat — also called the laundry hat or laundry disguise — is found in the hotel laundry room during Chapter 6: All the Time in the World. It appears at Checkpoint 05: The Laundry, which comes after you follow the blond man from the hotel’s upper floors down into the back-of-house areas.
At this point in the mission, the bellhop has bribed the laundry workers to guard the area. You arrive in a corridor where two workers are talking at the start. The laundry hat is on a table in the next room — but two guards are positioned right beside it.

How to Get the Bellboy Hat Without Being Spotted
Getting the hat cleanly takes a few steps. Here is the full process:
Step 1: Get Past the First Two Workers
When you arrive at the start of the laundry area, you will see two laundry workers talking ahead of you. Do not rush through them. Instead, head left and crouch behind the first laundry cart you see. Use R1 or RB while crouching to swap between cover points so you stay out of their sightlines.
Step 2: Wait for the Speech, Then Kick the Door
After a moment, the lead guard will start making a speech to distract the other workers. While he is talking, kick through the side door on the left. This is your window — his speech keeps the other workers occupied and nobody reacts to the door.
Move through quickly and into the next room.
Step 3: Use the Q-Lens to Hack the Air Conditioner
In the next room, you will find two guards sitting at a table — right next to the laundry hat you need. Do not try to sneak past them yet.
Stay behind the laundry cart and press L1 or LB to activate your Q-Lens. Look for the air conditioner on the wall. Hack it. This releases a puff of smoke that distracts both guards at once and makes them move away from the table.
Step 4: Grab the Laundry Hat
While both guards are reacting to the smoke from the air conditioner, stand up, walk calmly to the table, and pick up the laundry hat. Do not run — it draws attention. A normal walking pace is all you need.
The moment you pick up the hat, the Laundry Day challenge will complete.
What Does the Bellboy Hat Do?
Once you are wearing the laundry hat disguise, you become harder to spot for guards in the laundry area. Look above the heads of guards as you move through. Guards displaying an X above their head cannot detect you while you are in the disguise — walk past them normally and they will ignore you. Guards displaying a circle (O) above their head can still see through your disguise, so avoid those ones or deal with them separately.
The key after picking up the hat is to stop crouching. Stand up and walk toward the blue mission marker. Crouching while wearing a disguise actually looks suspicious and can draw attention.
Which Challenges Does the Bellboy Hat Unlock?
Getting and using the laundry hat properly lets you complete three challenges in a single run through the laundry section:
- Laundry Day — Completed by picking up the laundry hat from the table.
- Squeaky Clean — Completed by making it through the laundry section without being detected.
- Uninterrupted Service — Completed by getting through the laundry section without disturbing the workers or causing a disruption.

What Happens After the Laundry Room?
After clearing the laundry section using the disguise, you will move on through the laundry room and climb up into a study or library room. Can You Replay This Section If You Miss the Hat?
Yes. If you rush through the laundry room and miss your chance to get the hat, you can go back via chapter select. Load up Checkpoint 05: The Laundry in Chapter 6 and run through the steps again. The hat will be on the table each time.

Tips for the Laundry Section
A few extra tips that make this section easier:
- Time the door kick carefully. You need to kick the side door during the lead guard’s speech. If you go too early or too late, the workers will notice. Wait until the speech starts, then move.
- Use cover swap to stay hidden before the door. R1 or RB while crouching lets you shift between laundry carts without standing up. Use this to get into position near the door without being seen.
- The air conditioner does the heavy lifting. You do not need to dart or knock out either guard near the hat. The air conditioner distraction from the Q-Lens handles both of them at once — which is cleaner and faster.
- Walk, don’t run, once you have the hat. Running looks suspicious and can catch a guard’s attention even in disguise. Normal walking pace is all you need to get to the blue marker.
- Watch for circle guards. Even with the hat on, guards with a circle above their head can still detect you. Give them a wide berth or use your Dart Phone to distract them if needed.
