But if you take a moment to find the code and open that door, you will unlock the Closed for Maintenance challenge and grab a collectible card in the process.

When Does This Challenge Appear?

The Closed for Maintenance challenge is part of the Uninvited mission, which contains 29 challenges in total. It comes up during the Escape the Courtyard objective, which is the busiest section of the mission.

The courtyard has seven challenges packed into it, and many of them conflict with each other, so this is the area you will replay the most. The Maintenance Room challenge is one of the simpler ones once you know where to look, but it is very easy to miss if you have not been to the Library first.

Step 1 — Find the Library and Get the Code

When you drop into the courtyard, do not rush toward the exit. Instead, look for the back left room. That is the Library.

There are three guards in this area, stationed up a small set of stairs. You will need to either distract them, sneak past them, or take them out before you can safely reach the laptop they are standing near. Once you have dealt with or avoided the guards, interact with the laptop at the top of the stairs.

The laptop contains the weekly staff code. Look for the second paragraph — it will read “Weekly staff code is: 3256E”. That is your Maintenance Room code. In most cases the code is 3256, though some versions of the game display it as 3256E on the keypad. Use 3256 and it will open.

Do not skip this step. The game wants you to find the code the intended way. If you already know the code from this guide, you can still walk up and interact with the laptop to trigger the discovery properly before heading to the door.

Step 2 — Find the Maintenance Room in the Dining Room

With the code in hand, head to the back right room of the courtyard. That is the Dining Room. It sits to the right of the exit doors, so you will pass it on the way out if you are heading for the escape route.

Once inside the Dining Room, walk to the right of the grand piano. You will see the locked Maintenance Room door. It is marked with a keypad panel on the wall next to it.

Before you walk up and start entering the code, check the room. There are guards inside the Dining Room and a security camera positioned near the Maintenance Room door. If you trigger the camera, reinforcements can be called in and the situation gets messy quickly.

Step 3 — Deal With the Guards and Camera

The safest approach is to deal with the security camera before touching the keypad. Use your Q-Watch or Q-Lens to hack or disable the camera before moving up to the door. This gives you a clean window to enter the code without risking an alarm.

For the guards in the Dining Room, you have a few options. You can sneak past them entirely if you hug the edges of the room carefully, distract them with a gadget, or take them down quietly before walking to the door. The two guards inside are manageable, but do not rush in if the camera is still active.

Step 4 — Enter the Code and Open the Door

Walk up to the Maintenance Room door and interact with the keypad panel. Enter the code: 3-2-5-6.

The door will open. Step inside to complete the Closed for Maintenance challenge.

You can also reach the Maintenance Room through a vent near the piano if you prefer a stealthier approach. Enter the vent, take the first left, and at the end you can use the Laser Strap to blast the padlock off the interior door. This gets you in without needing the keypad at all, though you will still want to pick up the code from the Library laptop first to make sure the challenge registers correctly.

What Is Inside the Maintenance Room?

Inside the Maintenance Room you will find the 9 of Shields playing card collectible. It is sitting on top of a stack of cardboard boxes on a cart. Pick it up to add it to your collection.

This is one of 36 playing cards hidden across the full game. Collecting all 36 earns the Casino Royale achievement or trophy. So while the Closed for Maintenance challenge is the main reason to come here, the card makes the detour doubly worth it.

Tips for This Challenge

• Visit the Library first, every time. Even if you already know the code, interact with the laptop to make sure the game registers the discovery. Skipping it could prevent the challenge from triggering.
• Disable the camera before the keypad. The camera near the Maintenance Room door is the biggest risk. Hack it or destroy it before you type in the code so you are not interrupted mid-entry.
• The vent is the stealth option. If you want to avoid the guards entirely, the vent near the piano is a clean route in. Bring the Laser Strap to deal with the padlock on the inside.
• Do not leave the courtyard before opening the door. This challenge must be completed while the Escape the Courtyard objective is active. If you reach the exit without doing it, you will have to replay the mission.
