Time to Die: Mission Overview

Time to Die takes place at a Vietnamese resort. Bond must eliminate or deal with three targets: Theresa Lorca, Ramon Hernandez, and a third inside the Emperor Villa. The open resort layout means challenges are spread across multiple areas, and many require you to replay checkpoints to handle both stealth and combat versions of the same section.

The mission reward for completing all 25 challenges is the Polar Outfit. Use the 007 First Light mission replay feature to return to any checkpoint without restarting from the beginning.

Meta Challenges (Complete These Last)

Three challenges track your overall performance across the whole mission. You earn them by completing specific pairs of other challenges first.

  • Pacifist: Time to Die — Complete both the Wraith and Unlicensed to Kill challenges. These require you to finish their respective sections without killing any enemies.
  • Ghost: Time to Die — Complete both The Quiet Man and Panther. These are stealth-based, requiring you to reach objectives without being detected.
  • Assault: Time to Die — Complete both Lights Out and Who’s Counting?. These are combat-based challenges in the final shootout area.

Focus on the individual challenges first. These meta challenges unlock automatically once the right pairs are done.

Theresa Lorca Challenges

Theresa Lorca is found in Serenity Space, the resort spa. She is the easiest target to reach. There is only one tricky challenge tied to her area.

Pool Inspector

This challenge requires you to enter Serenity Space through a stealth route — not through the main reception entrance. Here is how to do it:

  1. After you take control of Bond and are tasked with planting Q-Traks, head down the stairs and continue along the stone steps.
  2. As soon as you reach the stone steps, turn right into the grassy path.
  3. Climb the ledge here and shimmy along past the couple in the pool.
  4. Vault over to the grass area so the staff do not see you entering without a booking.
  5. Continue into Serenity Spa to meet Theresa Lorca. The challenge completes on arrival.

The front entrance is always blocked. The grassy ledge route on the right is the only way to unlock Pool Inspector.

Ramon Hernandez Challenges

Ramon is located at the Hung Villa in the southwest of the resort. Head there from the start of the resort area. Two guards stand outside. Talk to one of them to learn that Ramon is waiting for a yoga instructor — this is your entry point.

There are four challenges tied to Ramon:

Yogi

You need to reach Ramon while disguised as the yoga instructor. Here is how to get the disguise:

  1. From the Hung Villa, head down the steps and go northeast to find Tranquility Cove, where yoga is being practised outside.
  2. Enter the cove and eavesdrop on the yoga instructor by hanging on the railing.
  3. Follow the instructor. When he begins demonstrating a yoga pose, approach the empty yoga mat opposite him and ask for help.
  4. While he is demonstrating, pickpocket the Storage Key from him.
  5. Use the key to open the locked Storage Room where the instructor was standing. Inside, find and pick up Ramon’s blue yoga mat — this is your disguise.
  6. Return to the Hung Villa guards wearing the disguise. They will let you through.
  7. Head upstairs to meet Ramon. This completes the Yogi challenge.

Zen No More

While at Tranquility Cove collecting the yoga disguise, make sure you interact with the laptop inside the area. This lets you switch the yoga music playing. Doing so completes the Zen No More challenge. Do not skip this — it is easy to miss if you are rushing to get the disguise.

Bathroom Bomb

This challenge requires a separate run. After meeting Ramon through the front approach, restart the checkpoint. This time:

  1. Scale the cliffs on the outside of the villa.
  2. Climb to the roof of the Hung Villa.
  3. Enter through the roof access to reach the bathroom area.
  4. Plant the explosive in the bathroom to complete the challenge.

This approach requires you to avoid detection from the guards while scaling the outside of the building.

The Quiet Man

The Quiet Man is a stealth challenge that also pairs with the Bathroom Bomb route. After climbing to the roof, you must make it down through the villa to your objective without being detected at any point. Combine this with the Bathroom Bomb run in a single checkpoint replay to save time. Both challenges count toward the Ghost: Time to Die meta challenge.

Emperor Villa Challenges

The Emperor Villa is the final major area in the Time to Die mission. This section has both stealth and combat challenges, which means you will need multiple runs through this checkpoint.

Panther

You must infiltrate the Emperor Villa without being detected. Here is the recommended route:

  1. Enter through the main approach but keep to the right walls of the villa.
  2. Use vital takedowns only — enemy kills that do not raise alarms are allowed, but keep them minimal. Aim to only take out the first few guards if needed.
  3. Stay along the right side until you reach a point under the stairs. Dash left to return to the tall grass.
  4. At the stairs, locate the air conditioner you can hack. Activate it to produce a smoke cloud.
  5. Use the smoke to run up the stairs undetected and trigger the cutscene. The challenge completes on arrival at the rooftop.

Panther contributes to the Ghost: Time to Die meta challenge.

Wraith

After the rooftop cutscene, you are tasked with making your way down to the basement. Wraith requires you to complete this section without killing any enemies and without being detected. This is one of the hardest challenges in the mission. Tips:

  • Drop down through the open window from the roof when the guard is facing away.
  • Open the closed door on the left.
  • Hide behind the wall and look up to find a ceiling vent — use this to move through the area.
  • Smoke Pods are essential here to obscure enemy vision when routes get tight.
  • Try this on Novice difficulty via checkpoint replay — it significantly reduces how often guards spot you.

Wraith pairs with the Pacifist: Time to Die meta challenge.

Unlicensed to Kill

Also part of the basement section. You can engage enemies here but must not kill any of them. Shoot guards in the legs to knock them out rather than kill them. If you land a lethal shot, the challenge fails. This challenge completes alongside the Phantom challenge after a cutscene with Ellis. Again, Novice difficulty makes this far more manageable on a replay.

Lights Out and Who’s Counting?

These are the two combat challenges in the final shootout area. You need to complete them in separate runs since they require different approaches:

  • Lights Out — Take out enemies efficiently during the final encounter. Focus on quick eliminations and using environmental advantages.
  • Who’s Counting? — Also a combat-focused challenge in the same area. Run this on a second checkpoint replay after completing Lights Out.

Both contribute to the Assault: Time to Die meta challenge.

Tips for Getting All 25 Challenges

  • Read challenges before you start. Knowing what each area requires lets you plan your approach from the beginning instead of having to replay everything.
  • Use checkpoint replay liberally. You do not need to replay the whole mission. Jump back to the relevant checkpoint from the mission select screen.
  • Stealth and combat challenges cannot be done in the same run. Plan one run for stealth, one for combat in areas where both types of challenges exist.
  • Lower the difficulty for the hardest stealth runs. Novice difficulty makes Wraith and Panther much less punishing without disabling challenges.
  • Smoke Pods are essential. Several challenges here rely on obscuring enemy vision. See the full gadgets list and the best gadget loadout guide before heading in.
