TL;DR
- Odyle is an aerial gathering material — it floats in the air, not on the ground.
- You need Wings and Wing Energy to reach and extract it.
- Best farming zones: Verteron (706 nodes, Elyos) and Altgard (650 nodes, Asmodian).
- Top spots in Verteron: Ellun River Midstream, Dawn Legion Base, Aullaeu Village.
- Top spot in Altgard: Safe Haven — 230 nodes in a single area.
- Unlock Odyle Seeker first — it shows nodes on your minimap and saves a huge amount of time.
- One node can drop any of 4 grades: Odyle → Fine Odyle → Pure Odyle → Radiant Odyle.
- Odyle is not Odyle Energy. They are two completely separate things.
Odyle trips up a lot of players early on — not because it is complicated, but because it does not work like anything else in the game. You will not find it sitting on the ground next to herbs and ore. It floats in the air above camps, outposts, and landmarks. You have to fly to it. And if your Wing Energy runs out mid-extraction, you lose the node entirely.
Once you understand how the system works, farming Odyle becomes one of the smoother parts of Aion 2’s gathering loop. Here is everything you need to know.
What Is Odyle in Aion 2?
Odyle is a gathering material used to imbue items with its power and serves as a key ingredient across Crafting and Substance Morph recipes. It feeds most of the core crafting chains in the game — particularly Blacksmithing, Armorsmithing, and Handicrafting. If you are working toward better weapons, armor, or accessories, Odyle will keep showing up on recipe lists throughout your progression.
There is also a higher-grade version called Pure Odyle, which feeds more advanced recipes and is required to craft Odyle Energy through Substance Morph.

Odyle vs Odyle Energy — What Is the Difference?
This confuses almost every new player. They sound similar but they are completely different things.
- Odyle — a gathering material you collect from aerial nodes. Used in crafting recipes and Substance Morph.
- Odyle Energy — a separate currency that works like a stamina system. You spend it to open reward cubes after clearing Expeditions, Transcendence, and Sanctuary dungeons.
You can craft Odyle Energy through Substance Morph using 25x Odyle, 5x Fine Odyle, 1x Pure Odyle, and 50,000 Kinah. You can only craft up to 800 energy per week. So Odyle the material is actually an ingredient for Odyle Energy the currency — but they are not interchangeable and you cannot accidentally spend one on the other.
This guide focuses on Odyle the material. For Odyle Energy and where to spend it, see our Aion 2 endgame guide.
The Four Odyle Grades
Every Odyle node can produce one of four grades when you extract from it. The grade is rolled at the moment of extraction:
- Odyle — Common. Sells for 20 Kinah. Used in basic crafting recipes.
- Fine Odyle — Rare. Sells for 60 Kinah. Used in mid-tier crafting chains.
- Pure Odyle — Epic. Sells for 180 Kinah. Used in advanced recipes and required for crafting Odyle Energy.
- Radiant Odyle — Unique. Sells for 540 Kinah. The rarest grade, used in high-end crafting.
You do not pick which grade drops — it is determined when you successfully complete the extraction. This is why skills like Odyle Appraiser matter so much. All four grades are tradeable, so you can also buy them from other players on the Market if you are short on time or flight energy.
How to Gather Odyle — The Basics
Odyle appears as floating aerial gathering nodes rather than standard ground resources. This is the key thing that throws new players off. You are not going to stumble into it while running quests on foot.
Here is how the process works:
- Activate Wing mode and fly upward near camps, towns, or points of interest. Odyle nodes tend to hover above these landmarks.
- Spot the node — they appear as faint green glowing orbs suspended in the air.
- Fly close enough to interact and begin Essence Extraction.
- Let the extraction complete. A timed gauge fills while you extract — you need to stay airborne the entire time.
- If extraction succeeds, the Odyle material drops into your inventory.
Every extraction — successful or not — still gives you Essence Extraction Proficiency EXP, so failed attempts are never completely wasted.
Wing Energy Is the Main Thing to Watch
Wing mode has its own stamina bar, separate from your health and mana. If your Wing Energy runs out during an extraction, the attempt cancels, the node is lost, and you receive nothing.
This is the most common mistake players make when farming Odyle. Always top up your Wing Energy before approaching a node. Trying to squeeze an extraction out of a nearly empty flight bar almost always results in a cancelled gather and a wasted node. Land near a camp between nodes to recover flight stamina rather than pushing on with a depleted bar.

Best Places to Farm Odyle in Aion 2
Verteron (706 spots) and Altgard (650 spots) hold by far the most Odyle nodes of any region in the game. These are your go-to farming zones regardless of faction.
Elyos — Best Farming Spots in Verteron
Verteron is the Elyos home region and the single richest area for Odyle in the game. The densest clusters sit around:
- Ellun River Midstream — 71 nodes
- Dawn Legion Base — 63 nodes
- Aullaeu Village — 52 nodes
- Western Cantas Valley — 48 nodes
- Kraka Footpath — 48 nodes
The Dawn Legion Base teleport statue is only about 40 meters from the node cluster there — the shortest walk to a good patch anywhere in the game. If you are just starting out, teleport to Dawn Legion Base, fly upward, and you will be surrounded by nodes almost immediately.
Asmodian — Best Farming Spots in Altgard
For Asmodian players, Altgard is your main farming zone. Safe Haven alone accounts for 230 Odyle spots — the most concentrated single area in the entire game. Teleport to Fang Hideout and walk about 130 meters to reach it. Nameless Cemetery and Moslan Forest are solid secondary spots once you have cleared Safe Haven’s nodes and need somewhere to go while they respawn.
Other Farming Locations
Odyle nodes also appear in Chaotic Lower Reshanta (240 spots) and inside several dungeon instances including Draupnir, Ferocious Horn Den, Fire Temple, Krao Cave, Urugugu Canyon, and Vakron Sky Island (15 spots each). These dungeon nodes are a bonus during your regular content runs rather than a primary farming route, but they are worth grabbing when you are already inside.
Essence Extraction Skills to Unlock for Odyle
Before committing to a serious farming session, open the Extraction Skill Tree (Alt + F on PC) and invest in the Odyle-specific perks. These three are the ones that matter:
Odyle Seeker (1 Level)
Odyle Seeker displays Odyle node locations on your minimap. This is the single most important skill to unlock first. Without it, you are flying blind — literally scanning the skies hoping to spot a faint green glow. With it, nodes appear as markers on your minimap and you can plan efficient routes without any guesswork. Unlock this before anything else.
Plentiful Harvest (3 Levels)
Plentiful Harvest gives a 10% chance at Level 1, 20% at Level 2, and 30% at Level 3 to obtain double Gathered Materials on a successful Essence Extraction. This is your volume skill. More Odyle per node means fewer flights needed over the course of a farming session. Prioritize this after Odyle Seeker.
Odyle Appraiser (3 Levels)
Odyle Appraiser gives a 10% chance at Level 1, 20% at Level 2, and 30% at Level 3 to reselect Odyle grades on a successful extraction. It does not activate if a higher-grade Odyle has already been discovered. This is the skill to prioritize if Pure Odyle or Radiant Odyle is specifically your goal, as it meaningfully shifts your grade distribution upward over many extractions.
Other Ways to Get Odyle in Aion 2
Aerial gathering is the primary method, but not the only one. Here are the other sources worth knowing:
Complete the Odyle Collection Quest
To get your first Odyle in Aion 2, complete the Level 10 episode quest Odyle Collection. Speak with Kaidros at Dawn Legion Base, meet Nania at Valley Outpost, collect Odyle from the Western Odyle Collector in Verteron, defeat the two Kalgolems listed in the quest, then return to turn it in. This is a great introduction to where Odyle spawns and how aerial gathering works.
Field Events
Regional quests such as the Future of Odyle Collection reward Odyle on top of other rewards. The Odyle Flight Frenzy field event is a particularly good one — it is built around aerial Odyle collection and rewards you for participating.
Conquests
You can also receive Odyle by completing Conquests, which are the harder versions of Expedition dungeons. These are endgame activities, but Odyle is a nice bonus from the loot pool while you are already farming for other rewards.
Hidden Cubes
Opening a Lucky Gathering Materials Bundle from a Hidden Cube can yield Odyle, Fine Odyle, Pure Odyle, Radiant Odyle, and Orichalcum Ore. The bundle can roll Unique gathered materials, making a Key: Hidden Cube (Bound) the most reliable non-gathering route to Radiant Odyle.
For all Hidden Cube locations, see our guide to all hidden cube locations in Aion 2.
The Market
If you are short on time or Wing Energy, you can buy all four Odyle grades from other players on the Market. Common Odyle is inexpensive on most servers, but Pure Odyle and Radiant Odyle can get pricey depending on demand. Gathering your own will always be more efficient in the long run.
What Is Odyle Used For?
Odyle shows up in a wide range of recipes across multiple crafting disciplines:
- Blacksmithing — required for weapons like the Orichalcum Greatsword, Longsword, Dagger, and Mace.
- Armorsmithing — used in armor piece recipes throughout the progression path.
- Handicrafting — feeds accessory crafting, including jewelry and rings.
- Substance Morph — Odyle can be morphed into other same-grade gathered materials when you need a different material for a recipe.
- Crafting Odyle Energy — 25x Odyle + 5x Fine Odyle + 1x Pure Odyle + 50,000 Kinah creates one Odyle Energy item granting 40 energy.
The Substance Morph flexibility is worth highlighting. Even if you gather more Common Odyle than you immediately need for a specific recipe, it is never wasted — you can convert it into whatever material you need most at that time.
For more on how Substance Morph works in upgrade paths, see our Noble Belt upgrade guide and the Revelation Amulet guide.
Tips to Farm Odyle More Efficiently
- Unlock Odyle Seeker first, always. Do not start a farming session without it. The minimap markers save enormous time compared to scanning the sky manually.
- Plan a loop, not a random flight. Pick a cluster like Dawn Legion Base or Safe Haven and fly a predictable circuit through it. Return to the starting point and nodes will have respawned by the time you complete the loop.
- Top up Wing Energy before every node. One interrupted extraction wastes a node. Land near camps between nodes to recover flight stamina.
- Do not fly on fumes. If your Wing Energy bar is low, land and recover before going for the next node. The few seconds saved are not worth risking a cancelled extraction.
- Check the Market before a big crafting push. Sometimes Common Odyle is listed cheaply and buying a stack is faster than farming it yourself when you need a large amount quickly.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is Odyle in Aion 2?
Odyle is a gathering material used in crafting recipes, Substance Morph, and as an ingredient for Odyle Energy. It floats in the air and must be collected using Wings and Essence Extraction.
Where is the best place to farm Odyle?
For Elyos, the best spots are in Verteron — particularly around Dawn Legion Base (63 nodes) and Ellun River Midstream (71 nodes). For Asmodians, Safe Haven in Altgard has 230 nodes in a single area, making it the densest Odyle location in the game.
Why does my Odyle extraction keep getting cancelled?
Almost certainly because your Wing Energy is running out mid-extraction. Wing mode drains its own stamina bar while you are airborne. If it empties during an extraction attempt, the gather is cancelled and the node is lost. Always ensure you have enough Wing Energy before interacting with a node.
What Essence Extraction skills should I unlock first?
Odyle Seeker first — it displays node locations on your minimap. After that, Plentiful Harvest if you want more volume per node, or Odyle Appraiser if you specifically need higher-grade Odyle like Pure or Radiant.
Is Odyle the same as Odyle Energy?
No. Odyle is a crafting material gathered from aerial nodes. Odyle Energy is a separate dungeon currency used to open reward cubes after clearing Expeditions, Transcendence, and Sanctuary content. You can craft Odyle Energy using Odyle through Substance Morph, but they are not the same thing and cannot be used interchangeably.
Can I buy Odyle from other players?
Yes. All four Odyle grades are tradeable, so you can purchase them on the Market. Common Odyle tends to be inexpensive, while Pure Odyle and Radiant Odyle cost significantly more depending on server supply and demand.
What is Pure Odyle used for?
Pure Odyle is an Epic-grade material used in advanced crafting recipes and as a required ingredient for crafting Odyle Energy through Substance Morph. It drops from the same nodes as Common Odyle but at a lower rate. Using Odyle Appraiser increases your chances of getting higher-grade results per extraction.
Do Odyle nodes respawn?
Yes. Nodes respawn after a short window, so repeating a loop through the same area is a viable and efficient farming strategy. Completing a circuit of a zone and returning to your starting point typically gives enough time for most nodes to refresh.
