TL;DR
- Duty Missions are daily quests that unlock at Level 45 — you get 5 per day per server.
- Best rewards to target: Odyle Energy, Soul Crystals, dungeon keys, and Kina.
- Click each reward to check its drop chance — aim for missions with 33% or higher probability.
- Reroll your list with Kina if the available missions have weak rewards.
- Duty Missions reset daily. Duty Commands reset weekly — they are different systems.
- Complete your 5 Duty Missions every login. They are one of the fastest daily habits for steady progression.
What Are Duty Missions in AION 2?
Duty Missions are AION 2’s daily bounty system. Think of them as short, open-world tasks — usually killing a specific enemy type or a named target. They are fast, they pay out every day, and they are one of the most consistent ways to build resources for gear progression.
You access them by pressing J to open the quest journal, then navigating to the Duty tab and selecting Missions. The system unlocks at Level 45, alongside the rest of the endgame content.
Each mission comes with a set of potential rewards. Some are guaranteed. Others drop by chance. Knowing how to read those rewards is the whole point of this guide.
How the Duty Mission System Works
Daily Limit and Reset
You can complete 5 Duty Missions per day. The limit is tracked per server, not per character. That means if you complete 5 on your main, your alt on the same server gets nothing from Duty Missions that day.
Missions reset daily. The exact reset time varies by server, but you can check the countdown in the Duty menu. Treat this reset like a soft deadline — do your 5 before the day ends.
Duty Missions vs Duty Commands
These are two different systems and players often confuse them.
- Duty Missions — Your everyday bounties. Up to 5 completions per day, per server. Quick open-world objectives. There are 206 of them in the pool.
- Duty Commands — Scroll-based quests. You can hold up to 20 at once and complete up to 12 per week. These are harder but reward more Abyss Points and stronger loot. There are 577 total Command quests in the pool.
This guide focuses on Duty Missions — your daily routine. Duty Commands are a separate weekly layer on top.
How Rewards Work
Each Duty Mission shows several potential rewards. The position of a reward in the list matters — the leftmost reward is always guaranteed, while each slot to the right has a decreasing chance of dropping. You can receive up to 5 rewards from a single mission if you are lucky.
Click on each reward before accepting the mission to view the exact drop probability. The sweet spot to target is a 33% chance or higher on the rewards that matter to you.
Best Duty Mission Rewards to Prioritize
Not all rewards are equal. Here is what to look for, in order of priority:
1. Odyle Energy
Odyle Energy is one of the top rewards to grab from Duty Missions. You spend it to open reward cubes after clearing Expedition dungeons. Each cube costs 40 Odyle Energy to open. You naturally regenerate 15 Odyle Energy per 3 hours across all characters, capping at 840 per week with a subscription.
The problem is the cap. If you run dungeons heavily, you can drain your Odyle fast. Getting extra Odyle from Duty Missions extends how many dungeon reward cubes you can open each week — and that directly means more gear and more Kina.
2. Soul Crystals

Soul Crystals are used to advance your Genus Insight system, which gives permanent stat bonuses to your character. They do not drop in high quantities anywhere in the game, which makes Duty Missions one of the more reliable sources.
If a mission shows Soul Crystals in its reward pool — especially in position 1 or 2 — that is a strong pick.
3. Dungeon Tickets and Keys
Dungeon tickets and Hidden Cube Keys are both high-value picks. Dungeon tickets only refresh weekly, so any extra tickets earned from Duty Missions are extra runs you would not have had otherwise. Similarly, Hidden Cube Keys unlock rare items from hidden locations across the map.
If you want to find hidden cubes you might have missed, see our AION 2 hidden cube locations guide.
4. Kina
Kina earned from Duty Missions is not huge compared to dungeon farming, but it is fast and guaranteed. Each completed mission pays out 50,000 bound Kina as a baseline. That adds up to 250,000 bound Kina per day just from five quick tasks. Over a month, this is a reliable stream of enhancement resources.
Bound Kina cannot be traded, but it covers your day-to-day costs like gear enhancement and Duty Mission rerolls.
5. Enhancement Materials and Crystals
Any mission that rewards Enhancement Stones, Daevanion Crystals, or other crafting materials is worth picking up when the higher-tier rewards are thin. These are baseline materials your character will always need.
If you want to understand how to use these materials most efficiently, check our AION 2 Gear Score guide.
How to Pick the Best Duty Missions
Here is the process to follow every time you open your Duty tab:
- Open the quest journal with J and go to Duty → Missions.
- Look at each available mission and click the reward icons to check drop probabilities.
- Prioritize missions that show Odyle Energy, Soul Crystals, or dungeon keys with a 33% or higher chance.
- If no mission on your current list has a worthwhile reward, reroll the list using Kina.
- Accept 5 missions and complete them. Most objectives take under 20 minutes total.
The key habit is checking the rewards before you accept. Players who pick missions at random often walk away with filler loot when a simple reroll would have given them a much better payout.
When Should You Reroll Your Mission List?
Rerolling costs Kina, so you do not want to do it every day without thinking. Here is a simple rule: reroll if none of your 5 available missions offer Odyle Energy, Soul Crystals, or a dungeon key at reasonable odds.
You can reroll your full list up to 10 times per day using Kina. Each reroll generates a fresh set of missions from the pool of 206 available missions. The cost per reroll is low enough that it is almost always worth one or two tries if the starting list is weak.
Do not spend all 10 rerolls chasing perfect rewards every day. Spend one or two to upgrade a bad list. Then accept what you have and move on. The time saved by not over-optimizing is worth more than a marginally better fourth reward.
Duty Missions and Gear Progression
Duty Missions alone will not carry your character to high Gear Score. But they are one of the few daily activities that feed every progression system at once — Kina for enhancement, Odyle for dungeon rewards, Crystals for the Daevanion Board, and Soul Crystals for Genus Insight.
That combination of small, consistent gains is what makes them worth doing every single day. Miss them for a week and you fall behind on materials without even noticing.
If you want to understand where those materials fit in the bigger picture, see our leveling and progression guide and the full endgame guide.
Abyss Points From Duty Missions
Each completed Duty Mission also pays out 1,000 Abyss Points. Five missions per day means 5,000 Abyss Points daily just from your quick bounties. Over a week, that is 35,000 Abyss Points — a meaningful contribution toward PvP progression without setting foot in the Abyss.

How Duty Missions Fit Into Your Daily Routine
Your daily login should follow a consistent order to avoid missing capped resources:
- Complete your 5 Duty Missions first — they are quick and pay out immediately.
- Run your Nightmare attempts (2 per day, per character).
- Open any Odyle Energy Reward Cubes from dungeon runs.
- Spend Shugo Festival keys if you have them.
- Continue with your main progression content for the day.
Duty Missions are always first because they take the least time and set up every other activity. If your session is short, you can log in, finish 5 missions in 15–20 minutes, and log off — and you have still made meaningful daily progress.
Duty Commands: The Weekly Layer
Once you have your daily Missions locked in, add Duty Commands to your weekly routine. These are scroll-based quests that take more time and effort than Missions but pay out significantly better. You can hold up to 20 at once and complete up to 12 per week.
Duty Commands are the longer version of the same system — harder objectives, more Abyss Points, and stronger loot. Stack them with your weekly dungeon runs so you are clearing two things at once rather than making separate trips.
Tips to Make the Most of Duty Missions
- Do them first every login. They take under 20 minutes and provide resources for every other system.
- Check the probability before you accept. One extra click on the reward icon saves you from picking a weak mission.
- Reroll once or twice if the list is bad. Do not waste all 10 rerolls trying to hit a perfect list.
- Do not ignore bound Kina. It adds up fast and directly covers your gear enhancement costs.
- Combine with Duty Commands weekly. The two systems feed each other and cover both daily and weekly Abyss Point income.
- Do not try to do these on an alt. The 5-mission limit is server-wide. Your main gets priority.
