    TL;DR

    • The Character Sharing Board lets you post and browse character designs in AION 2.
    • You must be at least Level 10 before you can share a character.
    • Take a Snapshot with the Customization Info box enabled — a regular screenshot will not work.
    • Upload your Snapshot to the Style Shop on the PLAYNC website, then share the link on the board.
    • Other players can download your style and apply it through their Appearance Management menu.
    • You cannot download your own style, and styles from different server regions are not compatible.
    • When another player uses your uploaded style, you earn a commission payment to your character.

What Is the AION 2 Character Sharing Board?

AION 2 has one of the most detailed character creators in any MMORPG right now. With over 200 customization options across face, body, hair, makeup, and more, players spend serious time crafting their look. The Character Sharing Board is the community feature built around that creativity.

It is a message board where players post their character designs. You attach an image of your character, include a link to your Style Shop page, and other players can use that link to download your exact appearance into the game. No need to copy hundreds of slider values manually.

This is a big deal. In the original AION, sharing a character meant writing down every single parameter. Other players then had to recreate it by hand. AION 2 removes all of that friction with the Style Shop system.

The board also doubles as a way to earn in-game currency. When another player downloads and uses your uploaded style, you receive a commission paid to your character. NC, the developer, confirmed it takes no cut from these creator earnings.

Requirements Before You Can Use the Character Sharing Board

There are a couple of things you need to sort before you can upload your character to the Style Shop and post on the sharing board.

    • Level 10 minimum: Your character must reach at least Level 10. The Style Shop will not let you register a style until this requirement is met.
    • A PLAYNC account: You need to create a profile on the PLAYNC website and link it to your Steam account. The Style Shop lives on the PLAYNC website, not inside the game itself.
    • A special Snapshot: A regular screenshot does not carry the customization data. You must take a specific kind of in-game snapshot with the Customization Info option turned on.

How to Take a Character Snapshot in AION 2

This is the step most people skip or get wrong. The snapshot is not just a pretty picture. It embeds your customization data into the image file, which is what the Style Shop reads when you upload it.

How to Take a Character Snapshot in AION 2

Here is how to do it correctly:

    1. Press Escape to open the main menu.
    2. Click the Camera icon to open Snapshot mode.
    3. Before you take the shot, look at the bottom right of the screen. Check the box labeled Customization Info (some players see this labeled as “Include Character Customization” depending on their client version).
    4. Take the snapshot. This is your upload-ready image.

If you skip enabling the Customization Info box, the image will look fine but will not carry any appearance data. You cannot use it for Style Shop registration.

Where to Find Your Snapshot File

Your snapshot is saved locally on your PC. For Steam players, find it here:

Press Win + R, type %appdata%, and hit Enter. Then navigate to:

    AION2 → Saved_Steam → Screenshots → Windows

Find the snapshot you just took. This is the file you will upload to the Style Shop.

How to Upload Your Character to the Style Shop

With your snapshot ready, it is time to register your style on the PLAYNC website.

    1. Open the character customization menu inside AION 2.
    2. Click Style Shop in the top left. This opens the PLAYNC Style Shop website at aion2.plaync.com/en-us/styleshop/mine.
    3. Log in with your PLAYNC account. If you have not linked your Steam account yet, do that first in your profile settings.
    4. Click your profile icon in the top right to select your character. Choose your region and server, then search your character name to link it.
    5. Click Register My Style on the right side of the page.
    6. Select the snapshot you saved from your local files. You can also find the file under your AppData folder for the game.
    7. Give your style a name and an optional description, then submit.

Your character appearance is now publicly available on the Style Shop. Other players can find it, download it, and apply it to their own characters.

How to Use the Character Sharing Board

Uploading to the Style Shop gets your design into the system. The Character Sharing Board is where you actually show it off to the community and help people find it.

Here is how to post on the sharing board:

    1. Navigate to the Character Sharing Board (accessible through the AION 2 community or the PLAYNC site).
    2. Click Post or the new message button.
    3. Attach your character screenshot image. This is the visual that people will see first.
    4. Include your Style Shop link so players can directly download your appearance.
    5. You can also drop a QR code for your style if the board generates one — players can scan this to reach your Style Shop page.
    6. Hit Post and your entry goes live on the board.

Other players can browse the board, click the Like button on posts they enjoy, and use the Style Shop link to grab your design.

    Engaging With Other People’s Posts

The Character Sharing Board is not just for uploading. You can also:

    • Browse other players’ character designs and find styles you like.
    • Click the Like button to the right of the Reply button to show support for a design.
    • Leave a reply to give feedback or ask about a look.
    • Use the Style Shop link in a post to go directly to that creator’s design and download it.

Found a style on the board you want? Here is how to download it:

    1. Click the Style Shop link in the player’s sharing board post.
    2. This takes you to their style page on the PLAYNC website.
    3. Make sure you are logged in with your PLAYNC account.
    4. Scroll down a little and click Download Style.
    5. The style is now saved to your PLAYNC account. You get up to eight style slots per character.
    6. To apply it in-game, go to Customization → Download Storage and select the style you downloaded.

Note: You can also browse the Style Shop directly without going through the sharing board. Just open the Style Shop and search by name or browse trending designs.

    Important Limitations to Know

There are a few rules around the sharing system that are worth knowing before you dive in.

    • You cannot download your own style. The Style Shop is a sharing tool, not a personal backup system. Do not upload a style expecting to use it as a saved preset for yourself.
    • Cross-region styles do not work. Styles uploaded from one server region cannot be downloaded by players on a different region. An NA East style cannot be applied to a Europe character, for example.
    • Downloaded styles cannot be freely edited. If you download another player’s style, you cannot freely modify it through the normal appearance editor. If you want to use someone’s design as a starting point and make major changes, you will need to recreate it manually.
    • Applying a style after creation requires a voucher. If you want to apply a downloaded style to an existing character, you will need a Customization Voucher or a seven-day Appearance Change Voucher. Keep one in reserve for this purpose.

For more on managing your character’s appearance, see our full Character Customization Guide.

Can You Share a Character Without the Style Shop?

Technically yes, but it is not as useful. You can send a regular screenshot to another player. But a plain image does not carry any customization data. The other player cannot import it into the game automatically. They would have to recreate your look manually — which is exactly the tedious process AION 2 was designed to eliminate.

For a fully importable shared appearance, you need to go through the Style Shop. Once your style is published there, share the page link. Anyone can open it, download the appearance to their PLAYNC account, and apply it in-game.

    How the Creator Commission Works

This is one of the more interesting features of the system. When another player uses a style you uploaded, you receive a commission payment to your character. NC has confirmed it does not take any fee or percentage from these earnings. The full amount goes to the creator.

This means popular creators on the Character Sharing Board can earn real in-game currency just from other players downloading and using their designs. The more appealing your character creation work, the more you can earn passively.

The original AION had no way to share characters at all — players had to exchange long lists of parameters. AION 2’s Style Shop and sharing board system is a genuine improvement, and the commission feature makes it more than just a social tool.

Tips for Getting More Downloads on the Sharing Board

    • Rotate your character before snapping. Check the side and profile views, not just the front. A good character looks great from every angle, and that shows in screenshots.
    • Write a clear post description. Tell people what class and style inspired your design. People browsing the board want context.
    • Use good lighting. Take your snapshot somewhere with clear, bright lighting in the game world so your character’s details come through properly.
    • Share dye codes too. If your look involves specific dye combinations, post those alongside the Style Shop link. The AION 2 community responds well to this — top creators in the game regularly share full dye breakdowns with their posts.
    • Post consistently. Players who share regularly tend to build a following. Each new design you share keeps you visible on the board.
