Alhaitham is a 5-Star Dendro character who wields a Sword. He was released in Version 3.4 on January 18, 2023. His constellation is Vultur Volans and he currently serves as the Acting Grand Sage of the Sumeru Akademiya.

Alhaitham was one of the most anticipated characters in Genshin Impact history. He appeared throughout the entirety of the Sumeru Archon Quest as a pivotal figure — a man of exceptional intelligence who operated entirely by his own logic, refused to follow rules he found pointless, and consistently outmanoeuvred everyone around him, including the Traveler. His defining trait is radical rationalism. He does only what benefits him or what he has decided is logically correct. He is not cold-hearted — he simply will not pretend to care about things he does not.

Despite his indifference to social norms, Alhaitham was instrumental in dismantling the corrupt Greater Lord Rukkhadevata narrative and helping restore Nahida to her rightful place. Alhaitham Role and Playstyle

Alhaitham is an on-field Main DPS. He stays on the field and deals the majority of his team’s damage through his Normal Attacks, which are infused with Dendro by his Chisel-Light Mirrors. He is not a set-it-and-forget-it character — he requires active field time and benefits most from players who learn his rotation.

His gameplay loop revolves entirely around generating and maintaining Chisel-Light Mirrors. These mirrors appear above his head and change how his attacks behave. Each time a Mirrored Normal or Charged Attack hits, it also fires a Projection Attack — an additional Dendro hit that scales off his Elemental Skill talent level. With 3 mirrors active, every one of his hits produces a powerful Dendro Projection Attack alongside it.

This rapid, consistent Dendro application makes him one of the best on-field Dendro drivers in the game. Alhaitham Skills Explained

Normal Attack – Sahoptadharma

Performs up to 5 rapid sword strikes. His Charged Attack unleashes 2 quick slashes. During Alhaitham’s Chisel-Light Mirror state, every Normal Attack or Charged Attack that connects also fires a Projection Attack — a coordinated Dendro hit. The more mirrors active (up to 3), the more Projection Attacks fire per hit. This is where most of his damage comes from.

Elemental Skill – Universality: An Elaboration on Form

This is the core of his kit. When used, Alhaitham rushes forward, deals Dendro DMG, and generates Chisel-Light Mirrors. The number of mirrors generated depends on how you use the skill:

• Tap: Alhaitham rushes forward and generates 1 Chisel-Light Mirror.
• Hold: Alhaitham enters an aiming stance and launches a directed rush. Generates 3 Chisel-Light Mirrors on hit. Longer cooldown than Tap.

If Alhaitham already has Chisel-Light Mirrors when he uses his Skill:

• He will not generate new mirrors via this method.
• Instead, all current mirrors are consumed and a Flashing Inception Blade is unleashed, dealing AoE Dendro DMG scaled by the number of mirrors consumed.

Key point: Use the Burst when you have 0 or 1 mirrors for the most efficient rotation. A1 Passive – Intuition

When a Projection Attack hits an opponent, Alhaitham will gain a Chisel-Light Mirror if 2 or more Chisel-Light Mirrors are not currently present. This can trigger once every 12 seconds. The cap is 4,000 EM — meaning 6% Projection Attack bonus and 14.4% Burst bonus at maximum. This is why Elemental Mastery is a direct damage stat on Alhaitham, not just a reaction bonus. More EM means more damage on every mirror attack and every Burst hit.

Utility Passive – Four-Dimensional Drift

Alhaitham’s Charged Attack Stamina consumption is reduced by 98% during the Chisel-Light Mirror state. This makes Charged Attacks essentially free to use when he has mirrors active. Useful in rotations where you weave a Charged Attack between Normal Attacks without draining Stamina.

5-Star Weapons

Build 1: 4-Piece Gilded Dreams (Best Default Choice)

This is his standard and strongest set. The 2-piece bonus gives 80 Elemental Mastery. The 4-piece passive triggers after an Elemental Reaction and grants additional EM or ATK based on party element composition. In a mixed-element team (Dendro + Electro or Hydro), the 4-piece gives roughly +230 Elemental Mastery — a massive damage boost that feeds directly into his A4 passive and his Spread/Aggravate reaction damage. Use this whenever a teammate already carries 4-piece Deepwood Memories.

Build 2: 4-Piece Deepwood Memories

If no other teammate is running Deepwood Memories, Alhaitham should carry it. The 4-piece shreds enemy Dendro RES by 30% on Skill or Burst hit — which improves the entire team’s Dendro damage, not just his own. Alhaitham is very strong at C0 and does not require constellations to clear endgame content. His best stopping points are C2 for quality-of-life and C6 for a massive power spike at high investment.

C1 – Intuition’s Clarity

Effect: When Alhaitham creates a Chisel-Light Mirror while at maximum mirrors (3), his CRIT Rate is increased by 10% and CRIT DMG by 70% for 6 seconds.

This is the most impactful early constellation. Since Alhaitham generates mirrors frequently throughout every rotation, he can reliably maintain 3 to 4 stacks of this effect — providing up to 200 additional Elemental Mastery during combat. More EM means more damage on Projection Attacks via his A4 passive and stronger reactions overall. C2 is a meaningful DPS upgrade and a good stopping point if you want to invest a little further than C0.

C3 – Negation

Effect: Increases the Level of Universality: An Elaboration on Form (Elemental Skill) by 3. Maximum upgrade level is 15.

A talent level boost for his Elemental Skill — the talent that governs Projection Attack damage. Since the Skill is his primary damage source, this is a solid upgrade that increases the damage of every mirrored hit. A natural C3 upgrade for anyone already at C2.

C4 – Elucidation

Effect: When Particular Field: Fetters of Phenomena is unleashed, based on the number of Chisel-Light Mirrors consumed and generated, Alhaitham gains buffs: for each mirror consumed, he and all party members gain 30 EM for 15 seconds; for each mirror generated, he gains 10% Dendro DMG Bonus for 15 seconds.

A useful support constellation that grants teamwide EM after each Burst use. In double Dendro or reaction-heavy teams, the EM buff to all teammates meaningfully improves total reaction damage. The personal Dendro DMG Bonus stacks with other sources as well. A solid upgrade that benefits the whole team, not just Alhaitham.

C5 – Sagacity

Effect: Increases the Level of Particular Field: Fetters of Phenomena (Elemental Burst) by 3. Maximum upgrade level is 15.

A talent level boost for his Burst. Less impactful than C3 since the Burst deals less total damage than his Skill window, but still a solid upgrade at this point in the constellation chain.

C6 – Structuration (Best High-Investment Constellation)

Effect: Alhaitham gains the following effects: 2 seconds after Particular Field: Fetters of Phenomena is unleashed, he will generate 3 Chisel-Light Mirrors regardless of the number consumed. If Alhaitham generates a Chisel-Light Mirror when its count is already at maximum, his CRIT Rate increases by 10% and CRIT DMG increases by 70% for 6 seconds.

C6 is a massive power upgrade. Automatically generating 3 mirrors after every Burst removes the setup time and makes his rotation smoother and more consistent. The CRIT buff — 10% CRIT Rate and 70% CRIT DMG — is enormous and triggers whenever he would exceed the 3-mirror cap. Since C3 allows him to generate mirrors more freely, C6 players will frequently trigger this bonus. At C6, Alhaitham jumps into the very top tier of DPS characters in the game. How to Play Alhaitham – Rotation Guide

Alhaitham’s rotation looks complicated at first but becomes second nature once you understand the mirror economy. The goal is to always enter your Burst with 0 mirrors and exit it ready for a full mirror window.

Standard C0 Rotation

1. Swap in and use supports — apply Electro, Hydro buffs, use teammates’ Skills and Bursts as needed.
2. Switch to Alhaitham. Use his Elemental Skill (Hold) to generate 3 Chisel-Light Mirrors.
3. Attack with Normal Attacks (2–3 hits) — each generates a Projection Attack. Weave in a Charged Attack for extra damage since it costs no Stamina with mirrors active.
4. When mirrors expire or you are down to 0–1 mirrors, use his Elemental Burst.
5. The Burst deals damage and generates mirrors equal to what he lacked when cast. If he had 0 mirrors, he gains 3 after the Burst.
6. Immediately attack again to use the freshly generated mirrors from the Burst.
