Crimson Desert Muckroot Ranch White Circle Guide: How to Get and Use the Abyss Transporter

See the white circle in Muckroot Ranch in Crimson Desert but can't grab it? This guide explains exactly how to get the Abyss Transporter and where to use it to fix a broken Abyss Nexus fast travel point.

TL;DR

  • The white circle on your minimap marks an Abyss Transporter — a key item used to fix broken fast travel points
  • Muckroot Ranch is located southeast of Hernand City — look for a small wooden shed on the western edge with a trapdoor inside
  • You need two things before you can grab it: the Kuku Pot and the Focused Force Palm skill
  • Inside the underground ruins, defeat the Bismuth enemies, grab the Palmar Pills, then blast the Bismuth barrier
  • Use Axiom Force on the floating disk and press Seal to store it in your Kuku Pot
  • Take the Abyss Transporter to the broken Abyss Nexus near the Howling Hill Greymane Camp to activate fast travel there
  • There are multiple Abyss Transporters hidden across the world — expect to find more broken Nexus points later

If you’ve been staring at a small white circle on your minimap and wondering what it means, you’re not alone. That icon marks an Abyss Transporter — one of the most useful hidden items in Crimson Desert. Getting it unlocks a fast travel point that saves you a massive amount of travel time, especially around the Howling Hill area.

Here’s exactly how to find it, what you need beforehand, and how to use it.

What Is the White Circle on the Minimap?

The white circle you see on the minimap is the map icon for an Abyss Transporter. These are teleportation stones hidden throughout the world, usually underground inside ruins, and they’re used to activate broken Abyss Nexus fast travel points that don’t work on their own.

The one at Muckroot Ranch is the closest Abyss Transporter to both Hernand City and the Howling Hill Greymane Camp — making it one of the most useful ones to grab early.

What You Need Before Going In

You cannot grab the Abyss Transporter without two specific things. Don’t head underground until you have both.

1. The Kuku Pot

Complete the Kiln Repair at the Kilnden Workshop quest. You’ll help a dwarf named Grimnir repair a kiln, and in return you receive the Kuku Pot — a special container that lets you Seal and carry large objects that won’t fit in your regular inventory.

The full walkthrough for this quest is in our Kiln Repair at the Kilnden Workshop quest guide.

2. Focused Force Palm Skill

During the Scholastone quest, look for a spirit apparition in the Black Forest and observe him to learn the Focused Force Palm skill. This is the only way to break through the chrome-colored Bismuth barriers you’ll encounter underground.

Without this skill, you physically cannot progress past the Bismuth barrier inside the ruins.

How to Find the Muckroot Ranch Underground Entrance

Muckroot Ranch sits southeast of Hernand City. On the western edge of the farm, there’s a small wooden shack. Step inside and you’ll find a hidden trapdoor with a ladder that drops you straight into the underground ruins — the Lion’s Path of Return.

Alternatively, if you’re already doing faction work at Karin Quarry, there’s a secret passage in the excavation site that leads to the same underground area once the blocking stone has been cleared as part of the story. Either entrance works.

How to Get the Abyss Transporter Step by Step

Step 1: Navigate Past the Fire Traps

Once you drop down the ladder, head forward carefully. There are fire traps in the first section of the ruins. Move through them without rushing and you’ll reach the main room.

Step 2: Defeat the Bismuth Enemies

The room ahead is guarded by a couple of Bismuth enemies. These Bismuth Oreback Crabs are tanky and hit hard, so don’t underestimate them. Take them out before doing anything else. They drop Bismuth Ore as loot, which is worth picking up.

If you need iron ore or other crafting materials while you’re in the area, check out the guide on how to get iron ore in Crimson Desert.

Step 3: Grab the Palmar Pills

Before you interact with the barrier, look for the altar in the room and grab the Palmar Pills sitting on it. Don’t skip this — it’s a free item. For more on what Palmar Pills do and how to use them, see our Palmar Pills guide.

Step 4: Blast the Bismuth Barrier

Stand in front of the chrome-colored Bismuth barrier. Enter Focus mode to gather Spirit, then hold the Force Palm button until a glowing sphere appears. Aim at the barrier and release Focused Force Palm to destroy it.

Wait for the circle in the middle to flash bright white, then fire the Palm Force at it to break through. The barrier will shatter, revealing a smaller room beyond it.

Step 5: Seal the Floating Disk

Inside the smaller room, you’ll find a floating disk. Use Axiom Force to interact with it, then press Seal to store it inside your Kuku Pot.

You now have an Abyss Transporter.

Where to Use the Abyss Transporter

Now that you have it, it’s time to put it to work.

Without activating the Abyss Nexus, traveling to and from the Greymane Camp is constantly a massive chore. The broken Nexus sits right near the Howling Hill Greymane Camp — you’ve probably tried standing on it and nothing happened. This is why.

Here’s how to fix it:

Step 1: Open Your Kuku Pot

Open the Kuku Pot from your inventory and select Discard on the Abyss Transporter. This drops it out of the pot and onto the ground near you.

Step 2: Move It Into Position

Use Axiom Force to pick up the Transporter and drag it over the empty slot in the center of the Abyss Nexus. Position it directly above the hole.

Step 3: Slam It Into Place

Jump above the Transporter and use Force Palm while aiming downward. This slams the Transporter down into the empty slot, snapping it into place.

The Nexus will activate, allowing you to fast travel back to this location whenever you need.

This is a huge quality-of-life unlock. Fast travel in this area saves an enormous amount of back-and-forth time, especially during the Howling Hill quests. For a full overview of how fast travel works across the map, check our how to fast travel in Crimson Desert guide.

Are There More Abyss Transporters?

Yes. The Muckroot Ranch one is just the first. There are Abyss Transporters hidden across Pywel, shown on your map as small white circles — usually underground in ruins. Wherever you see a broken Abyss Nexus that won’t activate, there’s a Transporter somewhere nearby waiting to be found.

Keep an eye out for white circles on your minimap as you explore. Each one you find and install unlocks another permanent fast travel point.
