What Is the Toward the Nest Quest in Crimson Desert?
Toward the Nest is the 69th main story quest in Crimson Desert. It falls under Chapter 5, in the sub-chapter called “Uninvited Guest.” You can only start it after completing the Secret at the Church quest.
The goal is to chase down the Crowcaller and defeat him at his nest deep in the Abyss. But two big obstacles stand between you and him — the Spire of Soaring puzzle and the Crescent Skybridge activation.
Complete both and you’ll earn the Blackwing Leather Armor, Blackwing Mask, and Tauria Curved Sword as rewards.
How to Enter the Spire of Soaring
The main front doors of the Spire of Soaring are completely blocked by rubble. A lot of players stand here confused for a while. Don’t bother with it.

There are two ways in:
- Climb the tower and enter through one of the large circular openings halfway up the structure.
- Use the hidden cave — faster and easier. This is the recommended route.
To use the hidden cave, face the main doors of the Spire of Soaring, then turn right. Drop down the cliff edge and you’ll find a small cave entrance. Go through it and it brings you straight into the basement of the tower.
Once inside, find the blue wind platform in the basement. Jump onto it and double-press Square (PS5) or X (Xbox) to activate your glider. The wind current will launch you upward through the tower’s vertical shaft until you land on a platform — and that’s where the first puzzle begins.
Spire of Soaring Puzzle Solutions
Puzzle 1 – First Floor Power Routing
You’ll see two sections of the floor lit with electrical current — one on the lower-left and one on the lower-right. The goal is to connect them by rotating the disc panels on the wall using Axiom Force.
Hold L3 to activate Axiom Force and aim at the back of each disc panel. Use the right stick to rotate them. Keep adjusting until the electric current flows from one side to the other in one connected path.
Tip: Use Blinding Flash to highlight the circuit shapes on the floor — it makes it much easier to see where the power needs to travel.
Once the current connects both sides, a stone plate in the floor rises up. Here’s the trick though — you need to ride the plate up. So once it rises, quickly rotate one disc the wrong way to drop it back down, hop on the plate, then rotate the disc back to the correct position. The plate will rise again with you on it. Take it up to the next floor.

Puzzle 2 – Second Floor Elevator Activation
This one is simpler. You’ll see a set of dials on the wall. Rotate them using Axiom Force until the left, bottom, and right lines are all lit up at the same time.
Take it slow. The Axiom Force rotation can feel a bit loose. Use the right stick gently for precise control.
When all three lines are glowing, the elevator activates. Stay on it — the ascent takes a couple of minutes. If you fall off during the ride, the puzzle state is saved so you won’t need to redo anything. Just climb back on and reactivate it.
The elevator will carry you all the way up into the sky and deposit you at the Crescent Skybridge.
If you’re not confident with Axiom Force yet, our guide on how to use Axiom Force breaks it all down.
How to Activate the Crescent Skybridge
You’ve made it to the Abyss. The Crescent Skybridge is now in front of you.

First thing to do: Step on the round floor plate right in front of you when you arrive. This activates the fast travel point. If you fall off the Skybridge later, you can warp straight back here. Don’t skip this step.
Step 1 – Climb to the Upper Level
Your goal is to reach the upper ring area of the Crescent Skybridge where the laser orbs are located. There are a few ways to get up:
- Walk along the crescent edge to the right and climb the structure there
- Hop onto the rotating rings and glide off once you’ve gained height
- Use consecutive Force Palm jumps to gain altitude, then glide into position
Watch out for the blue/purple flowers scattered across the platforms — they deal damage on contact.
Step 2 – Align All Laser Orbs With Their Wall Panels
When you first arrive at the top level, you’ll see a big orb in front of you. Leave it alone — it’s already pointing at the correct wall panel.
Focus on the orbs that are NOT yet aligned. Hold L3 to use Axiom Force on the back of each orb and rotate them using the right stick until the light beam hits the square panel target directly across from it.
There are two orbs you need to adjust — one on the right side and one on the left side of the upper level. Aim the right orb at the right wall panel and the left orb at the left wall panel. The two middle orbs are already correctly positioned.
When all orbs are aligned correctly, the large rings around the Skybridge will turn blue and start rotating. That’s your signal that this step is complete.

Step 3 – Fix the Two Broken Cables
This is the step that confuses most players. Even after all the lasers are lined up, nothing happens. That’s because two power cables on the Skybridge are disconnected and need to be repaired manually.
Hold L1+R1 (PS5) or LB+RB (Xbox) to activate your lamp and highlight the broken cables in yellow. Follow each glowing cable until you find the broken section.
- Broken cable 1 is on the grass walkway near the large circular opening in the ground, roughly in the middle of the platform.
- Broken cable 2 is to the far right of the central console area.
When you find each broken section, hold Square (PS5) or X (Xbox) to reconnect it. Both cables must be fixed before anything else will happen.
Step 4 – Punch the Central Wall Panel
Once both cables are fixed, head to the round wall panel at the far end of the Skybridge. Climb up to the middle of it and hit it with Force Palm (press R3 while hanging from it).
This triggers a cutscene showing the Skybridge powering on. Wind tunnels activate across the platform, and you can now fly forward toward the final area.
What’s Next After the Crescent Skybridge?
There’s a fast travel point just ahead — activate it before moving on. Then you’re heading straight into the Crowcaller boss fight.
It’s a challenging fight, especially if you’re underprepared. Check out our Crowcaller quest guide before jumping in.
