How to Get Renegades Exotic Armor in Destiny 2 — All Methods
Method 1 — Complete the Renegades Campaign on Legendary Difficulty
This is the main and most reliable way to unlock Renegades Exotic armor. Complete all six campaign missions on Legendary difficulty on your chosen class. You can do this solo or with a fireteam.
When you start the campaign, the game asks you to pick a difficulty. Select Legendary from the start if you want the Exotic in a single playthrough. If you already cleared it on Normal, you can replay it on Legendary — you do not need to start from scratch.
At the end of the campaign, you collect your Exotic armor reward from the Tharsis Cantina. The reward matches whichever class you finished on. Run it on Titan and you get Praxic Vestment. Run it on Hunter and you get Fortune’s Favor. Warlock earns Deimosuffusion.
To get all three, you need to complete the Legendary campaign on all three classes. Each run rewards only the Exotic for that class.
You can replay individual missions via the Tharsis Outpost map in the Portal. Look for the Renegades icon in the bottom-left corner. From there, select any mission and set it to Legendary difficulty.
Method 2 — Use an Exotic Keycard in the Lawless Frontier
Exotic Keycards are random drops from bonus objective chests during Lawless Frontier activities. These are the chests near secondary objectives and hidden corners of each map — not the main objective chests, which have a lower drop rate.
There are 6 Exotic Keycards in total, each tied to a specific sealed vault on a specific planet:
- Selina Morass Keycard — unlocks the Selina Morass vault on Venus
- Artesia Mons Keycard — unlocks the Artesia Mons vault on Venus
- Hellas Fortitude Keycard — unlocks the Hellas Fortitude vault on Mars
- Freehold Outskirts Keycard — unlocks the Freehold Outskirts vault on Mars
- Adamant Keycard — unlocks the Adamant vault on Europa
- Forging Matrix Keycard — unlocks the Forging Matrix vault on Europa
To use a Keycard, check your Wallet to see which location it corresponds to. Then launch the matching Lawless Frontier activity, find the sealed vault room on that map, and interact with the barrier to open it. Inside the vault, open the chests to earn your Exotic armor.
Keycards are single-use consumables. They disappear after use. However, they can drop again from future Lawless Frontier runs, so you can farm the same vault multiple times over time.
If you already own the Exotic armor for your current class when you open a Keycard chest, you will receive a random Exotic from the general pool instead.
Method 3 — Buy from the Tharsis Cantina Locked Chest
There is a locked chest next to Aunor Mahal in the Tharsis Cantina. You can open it for 4,000 Credits to receive the Renegades Exotic armor for your current class.
This is the most straightforward method if you have the Credits and do not want to grind the campaign again on a second or third character. The same chest is also where the rotating Impact Core Power Core for the Praxic Blade occasionally appears — so check daily regardless.
Note that this chest and the campaign reward are not mutually exclusive. You can use all three methods across your characters to collect all three armor pieces.
Method 4 — Focus at Master Rahool
Once you own at least one copy of any Renegades Exotic armor piece, you can get additional stat rolls by focusing Exotic Engrams at Master Rahool in the Tower. You will need Exotic Engrams and Ascendant Shards to do this. This is how you chase a high-stat roll without running the campaign again.
Praxic Vestment — Titan Exotic Chest Armor
The Praxic Vestment is a Titan chest piece with a jetpack mechanic.
Praxic Vestment Exotic Perk — Praxic Lift
Weapon final blows and Arc-powered melee final blows build up Jetpack Fuel. While airborne, use your air move input to charge the jetpack. On release, you fire forward a short distance with a burst of exhausting Arc energy. Nearby enemies are inflicted with Exhaust as you fly.
If you collide with an enemy while flying, you unleash a blinding energy burst and gain a temporary bonus to your Melee stat.
The Praxic Vestment is best described as a Thundercrash-lite that you control manually. It rewards aggressive Titans who stay in melee range and build around Arc-powered abilities. It is a B-Tier pick for PvE — fun and unique, but not as consistently impactful as the other two Renegades Exotics in harder content.
Fortune’s Favor — Hunter Exotic Leg Armor
Fortune’s Favor is a Hunter leg piece built around permanent overshield uptime.
Fortune’s Favor Exotic Perk
After landing a final blow while at full health, or after being out of combat for a few seconds, your shields recharge into an overshield. While any overshield is active, your weapons gain increased accuracy, stability, handling, and bonus damage against enemies.
When your overshield is completely depleted, you gain a short period of increased mobility (called Hasty Retreat) — letting you disengage, recover, and start regenerating the overshield again.
The damage bonus applies to enemies only, not other Guardians in PvP. The weapon stat bonuses do benefit PvP play however.
Best Subclass Synergies for Fortune’s Favor
Void pairs best with this Exotic. Echo of Vigilance and other Void overshield sources stack with Fortune’s Favor, giving you multiple ways to maintain the buff. Weapons with Repulsor Brace also trigger the damage bonus since it is tied to any overshield, not just the one generated by the armor itself.
Any subclass with strong health recovery on kills also works. Fragments or aspects that heal on final blows let you retrigger the full-health condition more consistently, which keeps the overshield loop going.
Fortune’s Favor is considered an S-Tier Hunter Exotic for PvE. It rewards a clean playstyle with near-permanent survivability bonuses and makes a noticeable difference in both standard and endgame activities.
Deimosuffusion — Warlock Exotic Helmet
Deimosuffusion is a Warlock helmet for Strand builds focused on crowd control and sustain.
Deimosuffusion Exotic Perk
While a Strand Super is equipped, casting Rift will suspend nearby enemies in a wide radius. Suspended enemies take damage over time, and that damage heals you in the process.
Enemies who break free from suspension take additional damage as they escape. Defeating a suspended target gives you a moderate heal on top of the DoT healing.
Every cast of Rift becomes a Suspend + heal combination. In large groups of enemies, this creates a powerful loop of crowd control and passive healing that requires very little effort to maintain.
Deimosuffusion is an A-Tier Warlock Exotic for PvE. It is the strongest of the three Renegades armor pieces in terms of consistent endgame utility, especially in activities with high enemy density. Strand Warlocks who want a hybrid control and sustain playstyle should prioritise this.
Which Renegades Exotic Armor Should You Get First?
If you only have time for one Legendary campaign run, match the class you play most. All three pieces are worth owning eventually.
In terms of priority for endgame use in 2026:
- Deimosuffusion — highest endgame value. Strand Warlocks get immediate impact in dungeons, raids, and Lawless Frontier activities.
- Fortune’s Favor — strong survivability pick that works across most content. Void Hunter builds benefit the most.
- Praxic Vestment — the most fun but least meta-defining. Best for Arc Titan builds that want mobility and melee synergy.
