The Bamboo Bash Collectibles Mission is one of the easiest challenges to complete in Forza Horizon 6. Your objective is simple: smash 30 bamboo plants. Once you have destroyed enough bamboo, you will immediately earn three Festival Playlist points and a Super Wheelspin.

The challenge is part of the Autumn season of the Horizon Decades Festival Playlist. There are no vehicle restrictions, so players can use any car in their garage. Large SUVs, rally cars, off-road trucks, and even hypercars can complete the challenge without difficulty.

Best Bamboo Location in Forza Horizon 6 – Arashiyama Run Speed Zone

The fastest place to complete the Bamboo Bash challenge is in the Ito region at the Arashiyama Run Speed Zone. This dirt road runs through a dense bamboo forest, which gives you more than enough bamboo to destroy in just a few seconds.

Here is where it sits on the map:

• You can find a bamboo forest right at the intersection of the Ito, Minamino, and Hokubu regions.
• It is a dirt track that goes across the border of the Minamino and Ito regions and is roughly east-northeast of Shirakawa-Go, north-northwest of Ito Airfield, and west-northwest of Kitayama Big Daisugi.
• The best location to visit is the bamboo forest by the Arashiyama Run speed zone on the border between Minamino and Ito.

The bamboo lines both sides of the dirt road tightly. You need to destroy 30 bamboo, which will take you less than 30 seconds in this spot. That is how dense it is – a single controlled drive down the road is all it takes.

How to Get to the Arashiyama Bamboo Forest

Method 1 – Fast Travel to the Arashiyama Run Speed Zone (Orange Wristband Required)

If you have the Orange Wristband unlocked, you should have access to the Arashiyama Run Speed Zone activity, which is on a road that connects Minamino and Ito. Drive on that road, and you will have no problems seeing the bamboo forest on the side of the road.

Open the map, fast travel to the nearest point you have unlocked, and drive to the dirt road. The bamboo stalks are immediately visible when you arrive – you cannot miss them once you are on the right path.

Method 2 – Approach From Western Ito (No Orange Wristband Needed)

If you have not unlocked the Speed Zone yet, look for the Orange Wristband unlock on the road where the Ito, Minamino, and Hokubu regions meet. Alternatively, you can approach the area from western Ito by following the road past the Yahikoyama Curve Speed Zone and turning onto the dirt road leading into the bamboo forest.

This approach works at any stage of progression. Just head toward the border of the three regions and look for the dirt track cutting through the forest.

How to Complete the Bamboo Bash Challenge Step by Step

1. Fast travel to the Arashiyama Run Speed Zone or approach from western Ito using the Yahikoyama Curve road.
2. Drive onto the dirt road running through the bamboo forest.
3. Aim directly into the bamboo lining both sides of the track – do not try to avoid it, drive straight through the thickest sections.
4. Watch the on-screen Bamboo Bash counter tick up toward 30 as each stalk breaks.
5. When it reaches the target, the challenge registers as complete and your three Season Points and Super Wheelspin are awarded.

If you reach the end of the road and have not hit 30, simply turn around and drive back through it in the opposite direction. The bamboo is dense enough that even half a pass in each direction covers the full count.

Drive straight through the largest bamboo clusters instead of weaving between them. If you accidentally miss a few stalks, simply circle around the forest – the bamboo density is high enough that finding additional trees takes only seconds.

Secondary Bamboo Location – Southern Ohtani Near Tokyo

If you are already in the southern part of the map and do not want to travel north to Ito, there is a second option.

Another location you could visit is right outside the Porsche 911 Turbo 3.3 Barn Find in the south of Ohtani, very close to Mei’s house and Tokyo City. There is not as much bamboo here but it is very convenient.

This spot is close to Mei’s house and not far from Tokyo City. It has fewer bamboo trees than Arashiyama, but it is highly convenient if you are already in the area or if the Arashiyama route feels crowded. The bamboo here lines a paved road near the barn find location. You will need to drive back and forth along the road to hit all 30 trees, which takes a bit more time than a single pass at Arashiyama.

The Real Arashiyama Bamboo Forest

Playground Games did not create this forest from scratch. The Arashiyama Run Speed Zone is based directly on one of Japan’s most famous real-world landmarks.

The Arashiyama Bamboo Grove is one of Kyoto’s most iconic sights. More than a kilometer of paths cut through this natural forest of Giant Bamboo, with stalks reaching up to 25 meters tall and up to 25 cm in diameter. The slender trunks have foliage at the very top which causes the bamboo to clack into each other with the slightest breeze.

The sound of the rustling bamboo within this forest has been named one of the “100 Soundscapes of Japan” by the Japanese Ministry of Environment. What Car Should You Use for Bamboo Bash?

There is no vehicle restriction on this challenge, so whatever you have in your garage works. That said, some cars handle the dirt road better than others.

• Rally cars and SUVs handle the uneven dirt road particularly well and maintain speed through the bamboo without spinning out.
• Off-road trucks are also effective – their bulk means they flatten bamboo with minimal steering input.
• Sports cars and hypercars work too, just keep your speed controlled on the loose surface to avoid spinning off the dirt track before you hit 30.

Bamboo Bash Rewards

Common Issues With the Bamboo Bash Counter

If the counter is not moving, you are likely outside the bamboo forest. Make sure you are on the Arashiyama Run road specifically, since that is where the stalks are concentrated, and keep driving until you have smashed enough to push the counter to 30.

Other things to check if it is not registering:

• Make sure you are on the dirt road specifically, not a nearby paved road. The bamboo stalks only appear along the dirt trail.
• If you are weaving to avoid bamboo out of habit, stop – aim directly into the stalks.
• Drive more slowly if you are bouncing off the road surface at high speed and missing bamboo that is right beside you.
• The bamboo resets in sessions, allowing repeated runs if needed. If you somehow do not get to 30 in one pass, the stalks will be back for another attempt.
