The Wing Pack in Palworld is one of the biggest additions in the 1.0 update. It is a wearable jetpack-style glider that lets you fly freely through the air without using a Pal party slot. That means all five of your party slots stay open for combat and support Pals while you still get full flight capability. It is the ultimate endgame mobility upgrade — but getting one takes real work. What Is the Wing Pack in Palworld?

The Wing Pack is Palworld 1.0’s answer to a long-standing limitation: flying required sacrificing a party slot for a flying Pal. The Wing Pack removes that trade-off entirely. You equip it in your glider slot — the same slot you use for regular gliders — and with Wing Cell fuel active, it functions like a personal jetpack. You can rise, dive, bank, and boost in any direction at high speed.

The game classifies it as a Glider in the menus. Even without Wing Cells, it works as a standard glider — you can open it mid-air to slow your descent. But when you have Wing Cell fuel loaded and press the boost button, the Wing Pack transforms into something far more powerful: true powered flight that lets you climb vertically, dive, and maneuver at speed.

This is not an early or mid-game item. It sits at the very top of the Technology Tree at Level 80 — the maximum level in Palworld 1.0 — and its materials pull from the deepest endgame regions of the game. Treat it as the final traversal reward for completing the progression loop.

How to Unlock the Wing Pack

Step 1 – Reach Technology Level 80

The Wing Pack unlock is locked behind Technology Level 80, which is the current level cap in Palworld 1.0. You earn 6 Technology Points every time your character levels up. Reaching Level 80 takes time, but the fastest ways to get there include:

• Catching 5 of each Pal (bonus XP for filling out the Paldeck)
• Filling out map discoveries
• Defeating Tower Bosses — each first-time kill grants 5 Ancient Technology Points as well as XP
• Killing or capturing Field Alpha Bosses — each gives 1 Ancient Technology Point
• Completing base missions and main story quests

Step 2 – Unlock the Wing Pack in the Ancient Technology Tab

Once you hit Level 80, open the Technology menu and navigate to the Ancient Technology section on the right side of the tab. The Wing Pack is at the very bottom of this column — the last unlock in the entire tree.

It costs 9 Ancient Technology Points to unlock. This is the single most expensive Ancient Technology unlock in the game, so save your points. Make sure you have enough stockpiled before reaching Level 80. You earn Ancient Technology Points by:

• Defeating Tower Bosses (5 points each, first time only)
• Capturing or defeating Field Alpha Bosses (1 point each)

Step 3 – Unlock Wing Cell at the Same Level

At Technology Level 80, also unlock the Wing Cell recipe. This is the fuel source for the Wing Pack. It only costs around 5 regular Technology Points (not Ancient Tech Points), so it is cheap. Do not skip this — without Wing Cells, the Wing Pack is just a basic glider. You need to unlock both.

Wing Pack Crafting Recipe

The Wing Pack is crafted at the Ancient Workbench (unlocked at Technology Level 67). Here is the full recipe:

• 30x Paldium Fragment
• 6x Paloxite Ingot
• 20x AI Core
• 20x Thermal Core
• 10x Ancient Civilization Core

This is a one-time craft. The Wing Pack itself does not get consumed — only the Wing Cell fuel is used up during flight. Build the Ancient Workbench first if you have not already, then gather each material before sitting down to craft.

Wing Cell Crafting Recipe

Wing Cells are the consumable fuel that powers the Wing Pack’s boosted flight. They are crafted at the Ancient Workbench as well. Each Wing Cell requires:

• 10x Mythical Wood
• 20x Crude Oil

Wing Cells are cheap compared to the Wing Pack itself, but you will need to keep crafting them as you fly. Heavy boosting drains them faster, so stock up a batch before any long exploration session. Without fuel, the Wing Pack still glides — it just cannot climb or boost.

How to Get Every Wing Pack Material

Paldium Fragment (30x)

Paldium Fragments are one of the most basic resources in the game. You can gather them from the small blue-veined ore deposits found throughout the starting area and across all regions. The fastest method is using a Crusher — break down large amounts of Stone into Paldium Fragments in bulk. Assign a Pal with Watering work suitability to run the Crusher efficiently.

Paloxite Ingot (6x) – Main Bottleneck

Paloxite Ingots are the hardest material to farm and the main gate between you and the Wing Pack. Here is the full process:

• Unlock the World Tree first. Paloxite Ore only spawns inside the World Tree region. You cannot get it anywhere else. See our guide on how to unlock the World Tree in Palworld for the full unlock steps.
• Farm World Tree Holy Water. This is essential. Paloxite Ore nodes vanish the instant you approach them unless you either drink World Tree Holy Water first or have a Pal with a World Tree Rainbow Passive in your party. To get Holy Water, defeat or catch Pals inside the World Tree zone — they drop it as a loot item. You can also visit the Teafant Springs scattered across the World Tree map, which give you 10 Holy Waters each visit.
• Use a Rainbow Passive Pal. The better long-term solution is catching or hatching a Pal with a World Tree Rainbow Passive. This passive prevents World Tree resource nodes from vanishing when you approach — no Holy Water needed for mining. These passives drop from Pals caught inside the World Tree or hatched from Ominous Eggs found in the region.
• Mine Paloxite with the Plasma Multicutter. The Paloxite nodes look like bright pink-purple crystal deposits glowing on rocks. Unlock the Plasma Multicutter at Technology Level 54 and use it for rapid harvesting. Do not mine without the Holy Water effect or a Rainbow Passive active or the nodes will disappear.
• Craft Paloxite Ingots at the Ancient Furnace. Each Paloxite Ingot requires: 1x Soralite + 2x Paloxite + 1x World Tree Holy Water. The Ancient Furnace unlocks at Level 66 and needs both Fire and Ice Pals assigned to it to function. Note that Soralite comes from Sunreach Island, not the World Tree — you need materials from both endgame regions. AI Core (20x)

AI Cores are a new crafting component unlocked at Technology Level 67. They are crafted at the Advanced Workshop. Each AI Core requires:

• 5x Computer
• 10x Soralite Ingot
• 2x Thermal Core
• 1x Ancient Civilization Core

AI Cores are used in dozens of endgame recipes across 1.0, so they are worth building up a large supply. The Soralite Ingot and Ancient Civilization Core requirements make each one a meaningful investment.

Thermal Core (20x)

Thermal Cores unlock at Technology Level 59 and are crafted at the Production Assembly Line II. They are used in armor, Ancient Technology items, and as a component inside AI Cores. Unlock this recipe early and start building your supply well before you reach Level 80 — you need 20 for the Wing Pack itself plus additional ones inside each AI Core.

Ancient Civilization Core (10x)

Ancient Civilization Cores are among the rarest materials in the game. There is no single easy source — you need to farm them through several methods:

• Oil Rig Stronghold chests – The treasure chests inside Oil Rigs have a very high chance of dropping Ancient Civilization Cores. This is one of the best repeatable farming methods before reaching the World Tree.
• Raid Bosses – Defeating Bellanoir, Bellanoir Libero, and Blazamut Ryu drops Cores.
• Pal Expeditions – High-level expeditions give Cores passively. Running these consistently is one of the most efficient ways to stockpile them.
• Ancient Relic Recycler (World Tree) – Once you are inside the World Tree, the Ancient Relic Recycler (unlocked at Level 74) converts Ancient Relics collected in the zone into Cores and other materials. It costs 20 Cores upfront to build, but becomes the fastest long-term supply once running.

Mythical Wood (for Wing Cells)

Mythical Wood is a World Tree-exclusive resource. It comes from trees inside the World Tree region, but like Paloxite, these trees disappear when you approach unless you have Holy Water active or a Pal with a Rainbow Passive in your party. Use the same Rainbow Passive Pal you use for Paloxite mining to harvest Mythical Wood efficiently.

How to Use the Wing Pack

Once you have crafted the Wing Pack, here is how to use it:

• Equip it in your Glider slot in your inventory — the same slot where your normal glider goes.
• Load Wing Cells into your inventory. The Wing Pack checks your inventory for fuel — keep a stack ready before flying.
• Jump and open it like a regular glider to deploy it and start gliding.
• Hold the Boost button to consume a Wing Cell and activate powered flight. On keyboard this is Shift. On controller it is LT (Xbox) / L2 (PlayStation).
• While boosting, you can rise, dive, and bank in any direction. Point yourself upward and boost to gain altitude. Point downward to dive. Bank left or right to turn sharply.
• When you release boost, you return to standard gliding without spending more fuel.
• If you run out of Wing Cells mid-flight, the Wing Pack automatically reverts to a regular glider — you will not fall instantly. This gives you time to find a safe landing spot.

Why the Wing Pack Is Worth Getting

• All five party slots stay open. The single biggest benefit. In early access, any flying build meant losing one party member to a flying mount. The Wing Pack removes that entirely — bring five combat or worker Pals and still get full flight.
• No summon step needed. Flying Pals require you to summon and mount them. The Wing Pack deploys instantly like any other glider. For quick traversal in dangerous areas, this is a massive quality-of-life gain.
• Essential for Sunreach and World Tree exploration. Both endgame regions are built vertically. The Wing Pack’s true vertical climbing ability makes navigating floating islands and the World Tree canopy far smoother than any ground or mount-based movement.
• Works alongside flying Pals, not against them. Flying mounts still have Partner Skills and combat utility. The Wing Pack is better for solo exploration where you want combat Pals in all five slots. Use whichever fits the situation.
• Frees up your Passive Skill planning. Players who previously ran flying mounts with combat-focused builds now have more flexibility. Stack your party with Pals like Solenne for the 30% Attack buff from Untainted Maiden without needing to reserve a slot for traversal.

Wing Pack Tips

• Unlock Thermal Core and AI Core early. Both are used inside the Wing Pack recipe and take time to farm. Start unlocking them at Level 59 and Level 67 respectively — do not wait until Level 80 to start gathering them.
• Build the Ancient Furnace before you need Paloxite Ingots. The Ancient Furnace unlocks at Level 66 and needs both a Fire and Ice Pal assigned to it. Set this up as soon as you unlock it so you are not waiting around when you finally have Paloxite to smelt.
• Stock a batch of Wing Cells before testing the Wing Pack. A single Wing Cell does not last long under heavy boosting. Craft 10 or more before your first flight so you can actually explore without running dry immediately.
• Get a Rainbow Passive Pal before going to the World Tree. This is the single best investment for farming Wing Pack materials. One Pal with this passive in your party lets you mine Paloxite and collect Mythical Wood without burning Holy Water — saving it for crafting Paloxite Ingots instead.

• Do not waste Holy Water on mining. Save World Tree Holy Water for crafting Paloxite Ingots. Use a Rainbow Passive Pal for node harvesting instead — each Holy Water vial used for mining is one fewer available for the ingot recipe.
• Use the Plasma Multicutter for fast resource harvesting. Unlocked at Level 54, it is much faster than a regular pickaxe for both Paloxite and Mythical Wood. The Holy Water or Rainbow Passive effect has a time limit on nodes — faster harvesting means more material per window.
