It is a Legendary-tier material — the purple Core icon — and it is a completely different item from Ancient Civilization Parts. Recipes that require the Core cannot be completed with Parts. They are not interchangeable.

Ancient Civilization Core is also not the same as Ancient Bone. There are several similarly-named endgame materials and it is easy to mix them up. What Is Ancient Civilization Core Used For

Ancient Civilization Core gates a significant portion of late-game progression. The most important use is crafting AI Core, which by itself unlocks 79 different recipes including the game’s top-tier weapons and armor. Beyond AI Core, Cores are needed directly for shields and base buildings.

Here are the key items that require Ancient Civilization Cores directly:

• AI Core (1 Core per craft) — then used in 79 recipes including Laser Sword, Plasma Rifle, Beam Launcher, Drone Launcher, Heavy Assault Rifle, Combat SMG, Mechanical Bow, Prototype Shotgun, Beam Scatter, Tactical Grenade Launcher, Wing Pack, Ancient Armor, Ancient Helm, Ancient Shield, Lightweight Ancient Armor, and more

Method 1 — Raid Bosses (Best Active Source)

Raid Bosses are the most reliable active farming method. Every one of the following bosses drops Ancient Civilization Cores at a 100% guaranteed drop rate. You can resupmon them using Slabs at a Summoning Altar, making this a fully repeatable source with no cooldown other than your Slab supply.

• Bellanoir Libero
• Blazamut Ryu
• Xenolord
• Hartalis — reportedly drops 4 to 7 Cores per raid
• Moon Lord — reportedly drops 4 to 6 Cores per raid

Stronger Raid Bosses offer better Core counts alongside more rare loot. Harder bosses are worth the extra preparation because the Core-per-run count scales up significantly. Since you can resupmon bosses endlessly with Slabs, building a dedicated combat base around a Summoning Altar is the most efficient active setup.

Build your Summoning Altar at a base that already has good food, Pal beds, and a storage system. This keeps your team topped up between runs and lets you queue the next boss immediately after claiming your rewards without wasting travel time.

Method 2 — Pal Expeditions (Best Passive Source)

Pal Expeditions are the best hands-off method for building up Ancient Civilization Cores while you play. Once you send Pals on an Expedition, they come back with rewards automatically. You just need to log in, claim the results, and restart the Expedition.

The Pal Expedition Station unlocks at Technology Level 22. Not all Expedition routes reward Ancient Civilization Cores — only the higher-tier ones include them in the reward pool. The key routes to target are:

• Frozen Cave of the Snow Mountain — one of the earliest routes that starts dropping Cores. Unlock this first
• Dark Cave of Feybreak — a strong mid-game expedition route for Core farming
• Ancient Feybreak Remains (Hard) — the most rewarding route before the World Tree, but requires high-Firepower Pals to run. Reportedly drops 6 to 9 Cores per completed run
• World Tree (Hard) Expedition — once this unlocks it becomes the top expedition source

The best way to increase Expedition rewards is to boost your Pals’ Expedition Firepower. Use the Pal Condenser on any Pal you assign to Expeditions — even basic Pals like Cattiva and Lamball get a significant Firepower boost from Condenser stars. Higher Firepower means better reward rolls on every run.

Also, make sure you actually assign a Pal to the Expedition Station. If no Pal is assigned, runs happen during free time only — which is dramatically slower. Keep the station fully staffed and always restart Expeditions immediately after claiming rewards to minimize downtime.

The best active farming loop combines Expeditions with Raid Bosses: start an Expedition, then run a Raid Boss while the timer counts down. Method 3 — Level 55+ Oil Rigs

Oil Rigs are a solid supplemental source once your gear is strong enough to handle them. The main chest at a Level 55 or Level 60 Oil Rig can drop between 1 and 5 Ancient Civilization Cores, though the drop is not guaranteed the way Raid Boss drops are.

You do not need to clear the entire Oil Rig to get the chest. Clear the area around the main chest, open it, then leave. This makes Oil Rig runs faster and less resource-intensive than a full clear. Include Oil Rigs in your rotation when your gear can handle the defenders comfortably — doing them between Expedition timers and Raid Boss cooldowns maximizes your Core income per hour.

Oil Rigs also drop other useful endgame materials alongside the Cores, making them a good multi-resource run rather than a single-purpose farming trip.

Method 4 — Ancient Relic Recycler (Best Endgame Source)

Once you reach the World Tree and hit Level 74, the Ancient Relic Recycler becomes the most powerful Core farming method in the game. This machine converts Ancient Relics you collect in the World Tree zone into useful materials — including Ancient Civilization Cores in large quantities.

How to Unlock the Ancient Relic Recycler

Open the Technology menu and find the Ancient Relic Recycler at Level 74. It costs 3 Technology Points to unlock. To build it you need:

• 50 Paloxite Ingot
• 50 Mythical Wood
• 30 Ancient Civilization Parts
• 20 Ancient Civilization Cores

Yes, it costs 20 Cores to build a machine that produces Cores. It is a significant upfront investment, but once it is running it becomes the fastest long-term supply by a wide margin. Spend the 20 Cores — it is worth it. The Recycler also needs a Power Generator and an Electric Pal assigned to it to operate.

Both Paloxite Ingot and Mythical Wood come from the World Tree zone. Remember to apply World Tree Holy Water before approaching Paloxite and Mythical Wood nodes or the materials vanish as you walk up to them. How to Use the Ancient Relic Recycler

Collect Ancient Relics by fighting Pals in the World Tree biome — any enemy in the zone can drop a Relic. Place the Relics and World Tree Holy Water into the Recycler, assign a Pal with Handiwork work suitability to operate it, then activate the machine. When processing finishes, select Acquire to claim your rewards.

The output includes Ancient Civilization Cores alongside Paloxite, implants, manuals, Skill Fruits, and other rare materials. Processing even a small batch of Relics can yield a significant number of Cores, making this the fastest farming method available at endgame. You do not need to hold back rarer Relics for a better result — feed the machine whatever you have. More Relics processed means more Cores over time.

While exploring the World Tree biome, keep your eyes open for chests and junk piles scattered off the main path. These are not marked as objectives but can drop Ancient Civilization Cores directly when opened. Do not pass them while chasing quest markers — they are easy pickups with no extra combat required.

Two Pals exclusive to the World Tree zone also have a chance to drop Cores:

• Silvance — can drop Ancient Civilization Cores when defeated, captured, or butchered
• Dandilord — same drop chance as Silvance

These drops are not consistent enough to use as a primary source, but they add a bonus drop chance during the same runs you are doing for Ancient Relics and Holy Water. The Large Fishing Pond at your base has a low but real chance of producing Ancient Civilization Cores over time. Assign a Pal with Watering work suitability to it and let it run in the background. The drop rate is too low to be a meaningful farming source on its own, but it costs nothing to set up and adds occasional Cores to your supply without you doing anything.

Think of it as a supplemental trickle rather than a main farm. Build it early and keep it staffed — every Core it produces is one less you need to earn through active play.
