Kliff is many things. A skilled fighter. A mercenary. A man who solves problems with a sword.

Operating a giant elixir factory? That’s new territory.

After you defeat the Queen Spider in Arboria Castle, the game hands you the “Restarting the Elixir Factory” quest. It sounds simple. It’s not. There are six machines to activate, and the order matters. Get it wrong and the factory won’t run.

This guide walks you through every step in the correct order so you don’t get stuck.

How to Unlock Restarting the Elixir Factory Quest in Crimson Desert

You need to defeat the giant spider boss in Arboria Castle first. The factory door will not open until that fight is done. If you haven’t done that yet, the quest won’t progress.

Also, a heads-up: the game sometimes tells you to activate the Heater before adjusting the mixing ratio. Ignore that. Follow the steps in this guide exactly as written. We’ve tested this order and it works cleanly without any soft-lock risk.

How to Restart the Elixir Factory in Crimson Desert — Step by Step

Step 1 — Activate the Cultivation Room Control Unit in Crimson Desert

This is the first machine and it’s a bit hidden. Here’s how to get it going.

Walk up to the metal tube and hold L1 to aim at it.
Look to the bottom right. You’ll see a wooden square with a yellow circle on it.
Press Triangle to kick it. A lever will pull out.
Push the lever all the way left using the Left Stick to open the hatch below.
Go down the ladder into the room.
Just in front of you is a handle. Press Square to pull it.

That activates the Cultivation Room. Now head back up the ladder.

Step 2 — Activate the Ingredient Dispenser in Crimson Desert

You’re still near the top area. Don’t go far.

To the right of the wooden square you kicked earlier, there’s a handle on the wall.
Press Square to grab it.
Turn it Left on the D-Pad until a lever pops up just above it.
Climb up to that lever and pull it so it faces right.
This starts the conveyor belt moving.

Step 3 — Activate the Washer and Crusher in Crimson Desert

Now you follow the belt deeper into the factory.

Behind the lever you just pulled, there’s a handwheel on the wall.
Grab it with Square and turn it Left on the D-Pad to activate the Washer.
Now follow the conveyor belt into the middle section of the factory.
Use Jump + Force Palm to triple jump up to the platform above.
Up top, you’ll find the Crusher Handwheel.
Turn it Right on the D-Pad until the crusher activates.

Step 4 — Activate the Lift and Dosing Pump in Crimson Desert

Keep following the conveyor belt to the right.

On the back of the metal wall, you’ll spot a hatch. Walk up and examine it to open it.
Inside is a button. Press it to activate the Lift.
Now look across from the Lift. You’ll see the Dosing Pump — it looks like a large button sticking out.
Walk into it using the Left Stick to push it in. No button prompt needed.

Step 5 — How to Adjust the Mixing Ratio in Crimson Desert Elixir Factory

This is the most important step. Get the handwheel values wrong and you won’t produce a Perfect Elixir.

Find the Yellow Handwheel and turn it so the dial points to the top line — position 4.
Find the Red Handwheel and turn it so the dial points to the bottom line — position 1.

This combination creates the yellow mixture needed for the quest reward. Don’t change either dial once set.

Step 6 — How to Activate the Heater in Crimson Desert Elixir Factory

Now it’s time to light up the Heater.

Opposite the Heater, you’ll find a row of oil barrels.
Walk up to one and press Square to pick it up and carry it.
Carry the barrel to the Heater. Hold L1 then press X to place it inside.
Press R3 (Force Palm) to push the barrel fully into place.
A handle will drop down. Grab it with Square and then hold Triangle to activate the Heater.

Step 7 — How to Activate the Bottling Factory in Crimson Desert

Almost done.

Move to the right of the Heater. Behind the bottling machine, there’s a lever.
Interact with it.
Now just wait a few minutes. The machines will run, the elixirs will bottle up, and the quest will complete.

Crimson Desert Elixir Factory Quest Reward — What Happens After

Finishing this quest completes the Arboria Castle storyline for now. It also opens up Arboria Castle as a Greymane dispatch location, which is useful for sending out companions on missions.

Crimson Desert Elixir Factory Not Working — How to Fix It

The conveyor belt isn’t moving. Go back and make sure you pulled the lever in Step 2 all the way to the right. It needs to click into position.

The Crusher won’t activate. Make sure you turned the handwheel Right, not Left. Both handwheels are close together and it’s easy to grab the wrong one.

The Heater won’t light. Make sure you placed the oil barrel correctly first using L1 + X, then used Force Palm to push it into place before grabbing the handle. The order matters here.

The factory stopped mid-run. This sometimes happens if you activated the Heater before adjusting the mixing ratio. Reload your last save and follow the steps in this guide from Step 5 onward.
