TL;DR
- Beat the main story first — infinite ammo is a post-game unlock only.
- Go to Bonuses > Special Content after finishing the game.
- Buy Infinite Ammo (Guns) for 50,000 CP.
- Infinite ammo for the RPG-7 costs 35,000 CP (plus 15,000 CP for the gun itself).
- You still need to reload — magazines still empty, but they refill automatically.
- Farm CP fast by doing Casual runs, speed runs, and no-heal challenges.
Ammo is tight in Resident Evil Requiem. Whether you are playing as Grace or Leon, you will spend a big chunk of the game counting bullets and deciding when to shoot. That is by design. The game wants you stressed.
But once you finish the story? All of that can change. RE9 follows the long-standing series tradition of rewarding players with infinite ammo after the credits roll. This guide covers everything — how to unlock it, what it costs, and the fastest ways to earn the CP you need.
You can grab the game on PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch 2, Steam, or the Epic Games Store.
What Is Infinite Ammo in Resident Evil Requiem?
Infinite ammo is a post-game modifier that removes the need to find or pick up ammunition during your playthrough. Your guns never run dry in terms of reserve ammo. You can shoot as much as you want without ever worrying about scavenging for bullets.
There is one important thing to know: you still have to reload. When your magazine empties, you reload as normal. But instead of pulling from a reserve that runs out, your reserve is always full. So the pressure of managing ammo drops away completely.
This makes replays far more enjoyable, especially on higher difficulties or when chasing speed run times.
How to Unlock Infinite Ammo in RE9
There are two steps. First, beat the game. Second, buy the upgrade with CP.
Step 1 — Beat the Main Story
You must complete the main campaign at least once. It does not matter which difficulty you choose. Any ending counts. The moment the credits roll, the Special Content Store unlocks inside the Bonuses menu on the main screen.
If you are still working through the story, check out our guide on how long Resident Evil Requiem takes to beat so you know what to expect.

Step 2 — Buy Infinite Ammo from Special Content
Once the Special Content Store is open, here is exactly how to access it:
- From the main menu, go to Bonuses.
- Select Special Content.
- Navigate to the weapons section.
- Purchase Infinite Ammo (Guns) for 50,000 CP.
This single purchase covers all guns for both Grace and Leon. It applies globally to every firearm in the game on future runs.
All Infinite Ammo Upgrades and CP Costs
There are a few different infinite upgrades available in the Special Content Store. Here is a full breakdown:
- Infinite Ammo (Guns) — 50,000 CP. Covers all firearms for both characters.
- RPG-7 (Leon exclusive) — 15,000 CP to unlock the weapon itself.
- Infinite Ammo (RPG-7) (Leon exclusive) — 35,000 CP. Requires you to own the RPG-7 first.
- Kotetsu (Unbreakable Knife) — 5,000 CP. Not infinite ammo, but the cheapest unlock and extremely useful.
If you are just starting to farm CP, buy the Kotetsu first. It is the cheapest item at 5,000 CP and gives Grace an unbreakable knife. This removes the need to scavenge for scrap metal, frees up inventory space, and makes future runs much smoother while you grind toward bigger unlocks.
How to Farm CP Fast in Resident Evil Requiem
Fifty thousand CP is a lot. You almost certainly will not have enough after just one playthrough. Here are the best ways to build up CP quickly.

Complete Challenges During Every Run
CP comes from completing in-game challenges. These are tasks like getting a certain number of headshots, killing a set number of enemies, or finishing the game under specific conditions. Check your Challenges menu regularly and try to knock them out naturally as you play.
Some of the highest-paying challenges include:
- Bloodlust — Kill 300 enemies. Rewards 10,000 CP.
- Speed Demon — Finish the game in under four hours. Rewards 20,000 CP.
- Minimalist — Complete the game without using healing items. Rewards 35,000 CP.
- Insanity difficulty clear — Finish the game on Insanity. Rewards 40,000 CP.
Run the Game on Casual for Speed Farming
Casual difficulty is the smartest choice for speed farming. It makes enemies weaker and overall survival easier, which lets you blow through the game fast enough to target the Speed Demon challenge while also staying alive for the Minimalist challenge. Stacking both in a single Casual run gives you a huge CP payout.
Use the Kotetsu to Save Time
If you already bought the Kotetsu from Special Content, use it on every run. Since it never breaks, you never have to pick up replacement knives or spend resources on scrap metal. It saves inventory space and keeps your run moving.
Learn the Map Layouts
Knowing where items, enemies, and puzzles are located cuts significant time from each run. The more comfortable you are with the game, the faster each playthrough becomes. Check our guides below for help with specific areas you might be getting stuck on.

Important Things to Know Before You Buy
A few things worth keeping in mind before you spend your hard-earned CP:
- Infinite ammo does not mean no reloading. You still reload when your magazine is empty. Your reserve supply is just infinite.
- Purchased unlocks carry over to new playthroughs. Once you buy infinite ammo, it is available on every future run. Enable or disable it when starting a new game.
- It works for both characters. The Infinite Ammo (Guns) upgrade applies to Grace and Leon equally.
- The RPG-7 infinite ammo is Leon-only. Grace cannot use the RPG-7 at all, so that upgrade is only relevant for Leon’s side of the game.
Is Infinite Ammo Worth It?
Yes, if replayability matters to you. The game is genuinely more fun to replay when the survival horror tension of resource management is removed. You get to focus on the story, the action, the puzzles, and trying harder challenges like Insanity difficulty without worrying whether you saved enough bullets for the next boss.
It also makes speedrunning much more manageable. Fewer stops to pick up ammo means faster overall run times.
That said, if you want the full survival horror experience again, play without it. Infinite ammo is optional — you choose whether to enable it when starting a new run.
