How to Get Requiem Bullets in RE9 (Resident Evil Requiem)
TL;DR
- Requiem Bullets are called 12.7×55 Ammo in your crafting menu.
- You craft them as Grace using 1 Rare Metal + 80 Blood — gives you 2 bullets per craft.
- You must unlock the crafting recipe first by finding and analyzing the Blood Specimen (Converged).
- Requiem Bullets can also be found inside silver briefcases, but they are rare.
- The Requiem gun holds a maximum of 5 bullets — use them wisely on bosses and tough enemies.
Leon gives Grace the Requiem — a powerful magnum pistol — early in the game. There is just one problem. It comes with only one bullet loaded. That sounds terrible, but the Requiem is one of the strongest weapons in RE9. A single shot can drop most enemies instantly. The challenge is getting more bullets for it.
This guide explains exactly how to get Requiem Bullets in Resident Evil Requiem, where to find the crafting recipe, how to solve the Blood Analyzer puzzle, and how to keep a steady supply throughout your run.
What Are Requiem Bullets in RE9?
Requiem Bullets are the ammunition type used by the Requiem magnum. In your crafting menu, they are listed as 12.7×55 Ammo. The name sounds technical, but it is simply the bullet type for that one gun.
The Requiem stays with Grace until she leaves the Rhodes Hill Chronic Care Center, where she returns it to Leon. Leon then uses it for the rest of the game. The gun cannot exceed its default five-round capacity.
Because the magazine is so small and ammo is scarce, you want to save these bullets for bosses and dangerous encounters — not wasting them on regular zombies you can handle with other weapons.
How to Get Requiem Bullets in Resident Evil Requiem
There are two ways to get Requiem Bullets in RE9. You can craft them, or you can find them inside silver briefcases. Crafting is the main method. The briefcases are rare and should be treated as a bonus.

Method 1 — Craft Them Using Rare Metal and Blood
Requiem Bullets can be crafted by Grace in the Crafting menu using 1 Rare Metal and 80 Blood. This will let you craft 2 Requiem Bullets per craft.
You will not be able to craft them right away though. You first need to unlock the recipe. Here is how to do that.
Method 2 — Find Them in Silver Briefcases
Requiem Bullets can also be found in silver briefcases, though they are much scarcer and are hidden in locked rooms such as the Closet in the Care Center. Do not rely on this method as your primary source. If you find them, great — but the crafting route is far more consistent.
How to Unlock the Requiem Bullet Crafting Recipe
This is the key step most players miss. Without the recipe, you simply cannot craft these bullets, even if you have the materials. Here is the full process.

Step 1 — Get the ID Wristband (Level 1)
Once you reach the East Wing as part of the story, head upstairs and get the ID Wristband (Level 1) that is in the hallway. This wristband unlocks restricted doors in the Care Center, and you need it before you can access the Blood Specimen.
You can learn more about wristbands and locked areas in our guides on the Level 1 ID Wristband location, the East Wing Keycard, and how to open Level 3 doors.
Step 2 — Find the Blood Specimen (Converged)
The Blood Specimen (Converged) can be found inside the Closet in the Waiting Room on the East Wing. You will need to get the ID Wristband (Level 1) to unlock the office, which can be found on the dead researcher’s body on the 2nd floor of the East Wing, just past the Lead Researcher’s Office. Note that this is where you will encounter the Chunk boss fight, so either lure it away or kill it before getting the wristband.
Be careful in this area. The Chunk is a large and dangerous enemy. Deal with it before going for the specimen or you will be in trouble in a tight space.

Step 3 — Analyze the Blood Specimen at the Blood Analyzer
With the Blood Specimen (Converged), head through the Examination Room and venture east into the Blood Lab. You will find the Laser Microscope, which can be used to analyze the Blood Specimen (Converged).
Once you have the Blood Specimen (Converged), take it to any of the two Blood Analyzers in the Care Center and solve the puzzle to unlock the recipe for 12.7×55 Ammo, as well as Med Injectors.
How to Solve the Blood Specimen (Converged) Analyzer Puzzle
The Blood Analyzer puzzle is a node-activation mini-game. You need to activate the correct nodes in the minimum number of moves. The Converged specimen is one of the simpler ones.
The Converged blood sample requires at least two moves to complete. To solve it, click on the two central atoms. You can do so in any order.
If you make a wrong move, just hit the reset button and try again. There is no penalty for resetting.
Once you solve it correctly, the 12.7×55 Ammo crafting recipe unlocks automatically. You also get the Med Injector recipe at the same time, which is a nice bonus.

Crafting Requiem Bullets — What You Need
Once the recipe is unlocked, crafting is straightforward. Here is what you need each time:
- 1x Rare Metal
- 80x Blood
- Reward: 2x Requiem Bullets (12.7×55 Ammo)
Open the Crafting menu, scroll to 12.7×55 Ammo, and craft whenever you have the materials. Two bullets per craft does not sound like much, but since the Requiem only holds five rounds at once, a few crafts will keep you topped up.
How to Get Rare Metal
Rare Metal is found by exploring the Care Center thoroughly. Check every room, cabinet, and corner. It also drops from certain locked containers and chests. It is not the most common resource, so do not spend it carelessly. Save Rare Metal for Requiem Bullets — they are the highest-value use for it.
How to Get Blood
Blood is collected using the Blood Collector. Grace uses this tool to harvest blood from enemies and the environment. As you move through the Care Center, kill enemies and use the Blood Collector on them to fill your reserves. The more thoroughly you explore and kill, the more Blood you will have available for crafting.

Tips for Using Requiem Bullets Effectively
Requiem Bullets are expensive to craft and the gun holds very little ammo. Getting the most out of each shot matters a lot.
- Save them for bosses. The Requiem does massive damage. Regular enemies can usually be handled with pistol or shotgun ammo. Keep your Requiem Bullets for boss fights where the extra firepower counts.
- Aim for the head. Even on tougher enemies, a headshot from the Requiem is usually a one-shot kill. Make every bullet count.
- Craft before boss areas. If you are approaching a known boss room, check your crafting menu first. If you have the materials, make sure your Requiem is topped up to the five-round max before going in.
- Do not panic-fire. The urge to spam the strongest gun you have is real. Resist it. Two or three wasted shots on a basic zombie could cost you dearly against the next boss.
Requiem Bullets as Leon
Grace returns the Requiem to Leon when she leaves the Care Center. Leon then uses it for the rest of the game. As Leon, ammo management shifts — you rely more on his standard arsenal rather than the crafting system Grace uses. The Requiem becomes a powerful backup weapon in Leon’s hands for clearing elite enemies and boss encounters in the later sections of the game.
