Every safe in Resident Evil Requiem is worth opening. They’re packed with ammo, healing items, Antique Coins, and crafting materials that can genuinely make the difference between surviving a tough encounter and not. Here are all five safe codes in one place, along with exact locations and what you get from each one.
How Safes Work in RE9
All five safes are opened by spinning a combination dial to three numbers in a specific direction. Complete all three turns first, then pull the handle. Pulling early resets the dial.
The codes are fixed on Casual and Standard difficulty. On Insanity Mode, all codes change — but the safe locations stay the same. You can open any safe without finding the code file first.
Care Center Safes (Rhodes Hill)
Safe 1 — Bar & Lounge
Location: In the West Wing of the Care Center. Head upstairs into the Bar & Lounge. Move behind the bar counter to the northwest wall and you’ll find the safe next to a flower arrangement.
Standard / Casual Code: Left 10, Right 80, Left 30
Insanity Code: Right 20, Left 50, Right 30
How to enter:
- Spin dial left (clockwise) to 10
- Spin dial right (counterclockwise) to 80
- Spin dial left (clockwise) to 30
- Pull handle
Where to find the code file: In the West Wing 2F Office, on a desk. You need the Level 1 Security Card from the East Wing (2F) to access this area.

Safe 2 — Examination Room
Location: In the East Wing on the ground floor. Enter the Examination Room and look for a cabinet at the southeast wall. The safe is inside it.
Standard / Casual Code: Right 30, Left 10, Right 50
Insanity Code: Left 50, Right 30, Left 90
How to enter:
- Spin dial right (counterclockwise) to 30
- Spin dial left (clockwise) to 10
- Spin dial right (counterclockwise) to 50
- Pull handle
Where to find the code file: In the East Wing 2F, in the small room before the Conference Room. Check the broken lockers in the locker area.
Rewards: 3x Antique Coins

Safe 3 — Basement (Furnace Room)
Location: Once you’ve acquired your first Joint Plug, head southwest of the Holding Cells to open the Furnace Room. The safe is on a table in a small shack just opposite the forklift.
Standard / Casual Code: Right 60, Left 40, Right 80
Insanity Code: Left 70, Right 50, Left 20
How to enter:
- Spin dial right (counterclockwise) to 60
- Spin dial left (clockwise) to 40
- Spin dial right (counterclockwise) to 80
- Pull handle
Where to find the code file: This one is trickier. You need to play as Leon in the Basement and use your Hatchet to open a Warped Closet in the Attic Storage area. The file is inside. If you miss it as Leon, Grace cannot return to get it — but you can still open the safe with the code above.

ARK Safes
Important: Both ARK safes must be opened before you interact with the final console in the Lobby archives. Once you enter the red door after that point, you cannot return to either safe.
Safe 4 — Sterilization Chamber
Location: After being boosted by Leon in the ARK, head east from the Lab Entrance. The safe is on a shelf counter in the northeast area of the Sterilization Chamber — right across from a bloodied lab glove box.
Watch the floor. Broken glass alerts the Lickers patrolling this room. Move slowly and stay quiet.
Standard / Casual Code: Right 10, Left 90, Right 20
Insanity Code: Left 80, Right 50, Left 0
How to enter:
- Spin dial right (counterclockwise) to 10
- Spin dial left (clockwise) to 90
- Spin dial right (counterclockwise) to 20
- Pull handle
Where to find the code file: In the corridor just before Bioweapon Repository 05 — accessed after getting the Magnetic Key. Check the container near the Anteroom steps.
Rewards: 1x Molotov Cocktail, 15x Handgun Ammo, 1x Med Injector

Safe 5 — Monitor Control Room
Location: After getting the Magnetic Key, use it on the red door near the typewriter in the Lab Entrance. This opens the Lobby. Enter the first green door on the left to reach the Monitor Control Room. The safe is on the counter on the south side of the room, next to an open steel case.
This room has no active enemies — the safe is safe to open without any combat pressure.
Standard / Casual Code: Left 50, Right 60, Left 80
Insanity Code: Right 20, Left 0, Right 70
How to enter:
- Spin dial left (clockwise) to 50
- Spin dial right (counterclockwise) to 60
- Spin dial left (clockwise) to 80
- Pull handle
Where to find the code file: In Bioweapon Repository 05. Head to the center-right area of the room and look for the open container. The file is on top of it. Watch out — there are Lickers down here.
Rewards: 1x Bottle of Acid, 1x Empty Bottle, 1x Med Injector

No Safe Is Safe — Trophy / Achievement
Opening all five safes unlocks the No Safe Is Safe bronze trophy and achievement. All five must be opened as Grace. Leon cannot interact with any safe in the game.
The two Care Center safes are locked to Grace’s sections in Rhodes Hill. The two ARK safes must be opened before the point of no return in the Lobby. Keep a manual save at the start of each area to give yourself a safety net.
