Sterilization Chamber Safe Code in Resident Evil Requiem (RE9)

The ARK is one of the most dangerous sections in Resident Evil Requiem. It’s an Umbrella lab deep in Raccoon City, and it does not hold back. The Sterilization Chamber is one of the first rooms you’ll pass through as Grace, and it has both a safe full of useful supplies and Lickers prowling the room. This guide gives you the code and everything else you need to open it fast.
Sterilization Chamber Safe Code (Standard / Casual)
Right 10 → Left 90 → Right 20
To input this correctly:
- Spin the dial right (counterclockwise) until it reaches 10
- Spin the dial left (clockwise) until it reaches 90
- Spin the dial right (counterclockwise) until it reaches 20
- Pull the handle to open
Do not try to open the safe after each turn. Complete all three dial inputs first, then pull the handle. If you pull early, the combination resets.
Sterilization Chamber Safe Code (Insanity Mode)
Left 80 → Right 50 → Left 0
The code changes on Insanity difficulty but the safe location and rewards stay the same.
Where Is the Sterilization Chamber Safe?
The safe is inside the Sterilization Chamber in the ARK facility. You reach this area late in the game when Grace enters the Umbrella labs.
From the Lab Entrance — which has a save point and item box — head east. The Sterilization Chamber is through this path. The safe is on a shelf counter in the northeast corner of the room, right across from a bloodied lab glove box.
Watch out for Lickers. This room has them, and broken glass on the floor will alert them if you’re not careful. Move slowly. Hug the walls. You can sneak to the safe and open it without triggering a fight if you’re patient.
Where to Find the Sterilization Chamber Safe Code File
You don’t need the file to open the safe — the code above works without it. But if you want it for your collectibles, here’s where to find it.
Progress through the Lobby deeper into the ARK. Head past the Anteroom and go downstairs into Bioweapon Repository 05. Check beneath the stairs on the lower floor. The file is on top of a container in that area and gives you the code in-game.
This room also has Lickers waiting for you — roughly half a dozen of them. Stock up on ammo and healing items before heading down there.
What’s Inside the Sterilization Chamber Safe?
Opening the safe rewards you with:
- 1x Molotov Cocktail
- 15x Handgun Ammo
- 1x Med Injector
All three items are genuinely useful at this point in the game. The Molotov and Med Injector in particular are worth grabbing before you push deeper into the ARK.
How Safes Work in RE9 — Quick Reminder
All safes in Resident Evil Requiem are opened by Grace only. Leon cannot interact with them at all. If you’ve been waiting to open safes during Leon’s sections, they’ll still be there when Grace takes over.
When entering a combination, always complete all three turns before pulling the handle. Pulling mid-combination resets the dial and you have to start again.
Opening all five safes in the game — across both Rhodes Hill and the ARK — unlocks the No Safe Is Safe trophy and achievement.
