TL;DR
- The Watchtower is a landmark near Cazarro’s shop at Windrest camp — upgrading it rewards Legendary Emotes and a cosmetic outfit at full completion.
- It uses a unique upgrade system — you need a Starsilver Spindle, not regular raid loot.
- Buy the Starsilver Spindle from the Curio Shop at the Goddess Statue for 7,200 Star Silver.
- Star Silver doesn’t drop during runs — refine it from Moonlight Nectar at the Goddess Statue.
- Moonlight Nectar is the bottleneck resource. It comes from Journey Overview milestones, Slumbering Contracts, and the Mall (200 Soul Coins each).
- None of these resources drop as normal expedition loot — they all require specific in-camp sources.
- The Watchtower is purely cosmetic — it gives no gameplay or stat bonuses.
- Don’t rush it early. Core camp upgrades like the Goddess Statue and Workshop should come first.
Mistfall Hunter Watchtower Landmark upgrade is one of the first things you’ll notice once you’re settled at Windrest camp, but it trips up a lot of players because it doesn’t work like other camp upgrades. You can’t just throw raid loot at it and call it done. The Watchtower runs on its own resource chain, and if you don’t know where to start, you’ll end up stuck staring at a grayed-out upgrade prompt with nothing useful in your inventory.
This guide walks you through the full process — what you need, where to get it, and how to actually complete the upgrade. Before diving in, if you want to understand how camp upgrades fit into your overall progression, our what to upgrade first guide covers every structure and the order they should go in. What Is the Watchtower Landmark in Mistfall Hunter
The Watchtower is an upgradeable landmark located near Cazarro’s shop at Windrest camp. It’s one of the first upgrade opportunities you’ll come across after finishing the tutorial, and it becomes available early in your camp progression.
Unlike the game’s core camp structures — the Warehouse, Goddess Statue, Workshop, and Gyldenblood Pool — the Watchtower is a purely cosmetic prestige track. Upgrading it doesn’t improve your healing, expand your stash, unlock better crafting, or give you any in-run advantage. What it does reward is Legendary Emotes at each level, with a cosmetic outfit waiting at full completion.
That distinction matters for prioritisation. The Watchtower is worth working toward, but it shouldn’t come before the upgrades that make your runs more survivable and your progression faster.
How to Upgrade the Watchtower Landmark in Mistfall Hunter
The Watchtower upgrade follows a three-step resource chain. Every step feeds the next, and none of the required materials drop during expeditions. You need to understand the whole chain before spending anything.
Here’s the full path in brief: farm Moonlight Nectar → refine into Star Silver at the Goddess Statue → buy a Starsilver Spindle from the Curio Shop → apply it to the Watchtower.
Step 1 — Get Moonlight Nectar
Moonlight Nectar is the bottleneck resource in this entire upgrade chain. It’s what everything else converts from. It doesn’t drop from enemies during runs, doesn’t come from chests, and isn’t available through the Scavenger Squad. You have to source it through specific in-camp systems.
Journey Overview Milestones (Best Free Source)
The most consistent way to earn Moonlight Nectar is through the Journey Overview in the Task tab. Open the Task tab in your camp menu and navigate to Journey Overview. This screen shows a series of progression checkpoints tied to playing the game normally — completing objectives, reaching milestones, working through NPC tasks, and so on.
As you hit these checkpoints, Moonlight Nectar is awarded as a reward. You don’t need to do anything special. Just keep progressing through the game and the Journey Overview milestones will pay out Nectar over time. This is the most reliable source and doesn’t cost you any other currency.
Slumbering Contracts
A smaller number of Moonlight Nectar can also be obtained through Slumbering Contracts. These are available at camp and reward Nectar among their completion prizes. They’re not a large source, but they’re worth completing when available since they contribute to your total without requiring additional spending.
The Mall (Soul Coins — Last Resort)
If you want to accelerate the process and have Soul Coins to spare, Moonlight Nectar is also purchasable directly from the Mall. Open the Mall menu, go to the standard cosmetics shop section, scroll all the way to the bottom, and you’ll find Moonlight Nectar listed for 200 Soul Coins each.
This is a direct and fast method, but Soul Coins are not easy to earn in Mistfall Hunter. Most players would be better off saving them for other purchases. The Mall option is best treated as a top-up if you’re very close to completing an upgrade and just need a few extra Nectars to push through.
Step 2 — Refine Moonlight Nectar into Star Silver
Once you have Moonlight Nectar, head to the Goddess Statue at camp. This is where Ashe rests — she’s the NPC you interact with here. Talk to her and look for the Refine Star Silver option in her menu.
Selecting this converts your Moonlight Nectar into Star Silver, which is the actual currency used to purchase the upgrade item. Star Silver comes in three sizes — Small, Medium, and Large — depending on the ore grade being refined. The Goddess Statue is the only place to refine, so you’ll be coming back here regularly as you accumulate more Nectar.
Neither Star Silver nor the ores themselves drop during expeditions. The only way to build your Star Silver total is through this refining process. This is exactly why Moonlight Nectar is the true bottleneck — everything else in the chain is just conversion.
Step 3 — Buy the Starsilver Spindle from the Curio Shop
With Star Silver in hand, stay at the Goddess Statue and open the Curio Shop. Inside, you’ll find the Starsilver Spindle available for purchase at 7,200 Star Silver.
If you’ve only just reached this point in the game, don’t be surprised if you don’t have 7,200 Star Silver yet. That’s completely normal this early. The Curio Shop also sells premium weapon skins at the same price tier, so this is a meaningful spend. The game doesn’t rush you — keep collecting Moonlight Nectar through Journey milestones and refining it whenever you have enough to do a batch.
Once you have 7,200 Star Silver, buy the Starsilver Spindle. It will sit in your inventory, ready to be applied.
Step 4 — Return to the Watchtower and Apply the Spindle
With the Starsilver Spindle in your inventory, go back to the Watchtower near Cazarro’s shop. Interact with it and apply the Spindle to complete the upgrade. The Watchtower advances to its next level, and you receive your rewards — including a Legendary Emote for the completed tier.
Repeat the full chain for each subsequent Watchtower level. Each upgrade requires another Starsilver Spindle, which means another round of Moonlight Nectar farming, Star Silver refining, and Curio Shop purchasing.
Watchtower Upgrade Rewards
Each Watchtower level upgrade pays out Legendary Emotes. These are high-rarity cosmetic emotes you can equip and use in camp and lobbies. They’re genuinely desirable rewards — Legendary Emotes aren’t commonly available through other in-game sources, which is the main reason the Watchtower is worth the slow grind.
At the top level of the Watchtower, you unlock a cosmetic outfit as the final completion reward. This is the prestige payoff for fully committing to the upgrade track. It’s not a quick unlock — the Watchtower is explicitly one of the more time-consuming landmarks to complete. Don’t expect to claim the outfit reward within your first few days of playing.
Is the Watchtower Upgrade Worth It in Mistfall Hunter
It depends on where you are in your camp progression. Here’s the honest answer:
The Watchtower gives you no gameplay advantage whatsoever. Every reward is cosmetic. Compare that with, say, the Goddess Statue, which stacks Spirithorn Healing with each level, or the Workshop, which unlocks Excellent Weapons and Accessories and reduces crafting time. These upgrades directly affect how long you survive in the Gyldenmist and how fast you can build a strong loadout.
If you’re still establishing your core camp, the Watchtower should not be your first priority. The resources that feed the Watchtower — primarily Moonlight Nectar — are non-farmable during runs and take time to accumulate. Spending them on the Watchtower while other structures are still at low levels will slow your overall progression.
That said, once your critical upgrades are in a solid place, the Watchtower becomes a natural long-term project. The Legendary Emotes are genuinely rare rewards, and the final outfit is one of the more distinctive cosmetics available without spending real money. It’s a goal worth working toward — just not an urgent one.

Moonlight Nectar Tips — Get It Faster
- Check the Journey Overview regularly. New milestones unlock as you level up and progress. Players often miss Nectar rewards sitting unclaimed in the Task tab.
- Complete Slumbering Contracts when they’re available. They’re not a major source, but every piece counts given how slow Nectar accumulates.
- Don’t spend Soul Coins at the Mall unless you’re close to a level. The 200 Soul Coins per Nectar price is steep. Reserve this option for situations where you’re just a few pieces short of the next Spindle purchase.
- Refine in batches at the Goddess Statue. Every time you visit the Goddess Statue for Spirithorn Healing upgrades, check your Nectar supply and refine anything you have sitting idle.
- Don’t let Nectar sit uncollected. Journey Overview rewards don’t collect themselves. Visit the Task tab and claim them to keep your supply building.
