What Is the Old School Days Anomaly Commission in NTE?

Old School Days is a Common Anomaly Commission in Bridge Crossings, one of the first districts you explore in Neverness to Everness. It revolves around a supernatural Red Door anomaly that has appeared in a back alley of the city, pulling anyone who enters into a distorted school-like dimension.

The commission has two combat phases — one outside before you enter the anomaly space, and one inside a classroom arena deeper in the dimension. The path through the anomaly is completely linear, so you will not get lost once you are inside.

If you are working through all commissions in Bridge Crossings, our full Anomaly Zones guide for NTE has every commission listed with locations.

Old School Days Location in NTE

The Old School Days commission is found in Bridge Crossings, in the narrow alley running south of Hankaku Street. Look for the ReroRero Phone Booth in that alley — past the booth, you will see a group of knocked-down vending machines lying in the road.

When you get close to the vending machines, the area around you will darken and you will receive a warning about Wertheimer Index fluctuations. That is your signal that the anomaly is activating. The scattered vending machines will rearrange themselves into a large wall, and a Red Door will form in the center of it.

The commission marker will not be visible until you are close to the alley. Use the Anomagram from your World Map to track the rough location, then follow it into the narrow street south of Hankaku Street on foot.

How to Complete Old School Days — Full Walkthrough

Step 1 — Head South of Hankaku Street

Travel to the Bridge Crossings area and find the alley south of Hankaku Street. The easiest approach is to fast travel to the nearest ReroRero Phone Booth in that part of Bridge Crossings, then walk south into the alley on foot. You can also use the Anomagram in your World Map to track the commission’s approximate position.

Once you spot the overturned vending machines in the alley, walk toward them. The anomaly will activate as you get close.

Step 2 — Defeat the First Wave of Enemies Outside

As the anomaly forms, enemies will appear in the alley. You need to defeat two trash can anomalies and one elite vending machine enemy before the Red Door opens fully.

The vending machine enemy is the bigger threat in this first phase. It deals noticeable damage if you stand directly in front of it for too long. Stay mobile and attack from the sides to take it down safely. The trash can enemies are weaker and easier to handle.

Once all three enemies are defeated, the Red Door opens and you can enter the anomaly space. For tips on handling combat efficiently, see our guides on how to parry and riposte in NTE and how to break enemies in NTE.

Step 3 — Enter the Red Door and Follow the Path Forward

Step through the Red Door to enter the anomaly dimension. The atmosphere changes completely once you are inside. The space resembles a distorted school hallway — dark corridors, shifting surroundings, and an eerie atmosphere.

The good news: there is only one path. You cannot get lost here. Just keep moving forward through the hallways. Do not turn back or explore — there is nothing off the main route. Follow the corridor until you reach a long dark red passage at the end of the hallway.

Step 4 — Fight Through the Classroom Arena

At the end of the red corridor, pass through another red opening to enter the final combat room. This room looks like a distorted classroom with square floor lights and an enclosed layout — you will know you are in the right place.

A second group of anomaly enemies spawns here. Defeat all of them to unlock the exit. Use your strongest Arc skills and take advantage of any Break windows to end the fight quickly. Make sure you have enough HP going into this room — the corridor before it does not have any recovery options.

Step 5 — Exit Through the Blue Door and Close the Red Door

After defeating all enemies in the classroom arena, a Blue Door will appear near the entrance of the room. Walk through the Blue Door to exit the anomaly dimension.

Once you are back outside, you will find the Red Door still standing in the alley. Interact with it to close it. This seals the anomaly and officially completes the Old School Days commission. The rewards drop into your inventory immediately.

Old School Days Rewards

Completing Old School Days gives the following rewards:

  • Hunter Level EXP ×160
  • Annulith ×20
  • Fons ×8,000
  • Bronze Carrota ×80
  • U-00NE ×15
  • Beetle Coin ×4,000
  • Anomaly Material Selection Box I ×3

Unlike some other Bridge Crossings commissions, Old School Days does not have a special Arc reward. The main value here is the Hunter EXP and Annulith, both of which are essential for early progression. If you need more Annulith for upgrading characters, our guide on how to get Annulith fast in NTE covers the best farming methods.

Tips for Old School Days

  • Watch for the area darkening. When the screen darkens and you see the Wertheimer warning, the anomaly is activating. You are in the right spot.
  • Flank the vending machine enemy. Do not stand in front of it for too long. Approach from the sides to deal damage while avoiding its hardest-hitting attacks.
  • Keep moving inside. The school dimension is a straight line. There are no puzzles and no branching paths — just walk forward and fight when enemies appear.
  • Save Arc skills for the classroom. The second combat room has more enemies than the outside encounter. Hold your strongest abilities for the classroom arena instead of spending them all at the door.
  • Do not miss the Blue Door. After clearing the classroom enemies, look near the entrance of the room for the Blue Door. It is the only way out.
  • Close the Red Door last. Exiting through the Blue Door is not enough on its own. You must interact with the Red Door outside to fully seal the anomaly and trigger the commission complete screen.

Old School Days vs After School — What Is the Difference?

A lot of players confuse Old School Days with After School, another school-themed Anomaly Commission in Bridge Crossings. They are two completely different commissions.

Old School Days is a straightforward combat commission. You fight enemies outside, enter through a Red Door, fight through a linear school hallway dimension, and exit through a Blue Door. No puzzles, no stealth, just combat.

After School is much more complex. It takes place inside an Anomalous Realm accessed through a TV. It involves stealth mechanics, unarmed shadow enemies that chase you when you are not looking at them, and key-finding puzzles. That one takes significantly more time and patience to complete.

If you are just looking for a quick combat commission, Old School Days is the one to do first.
