TL;DR
- Brand Anniversary is an Anomaly Commission in the Unheard Shores region of Hethereau.
- The entrance is underground — inside a tunnel beneath the Orichalcos Imaginist building, not on the surface.
- Fast travel to Wertheimer Tower, head south, enter the tunnel road, and look for a side door on the left.
- The boss is Film – MANISH — a familiar enemy from the story prologue with a huge HP pool.
- Use Parry on the spin attack, dodge the laser, and destroy thrown projectiles by hitting them.
- Stay near the boss’s sides — not directly in front of it.
- Rewards include Annulith, Fons, Hunter EXP, Beetle Coins, and Carrotas.
- After completing it once, Film – MANISH becomes available as a repeatable High-Risk Commission at Hunter Level 24+.
- After the fight, exit through the door with the red light above it for the commission to count.
Brand Anniversary is one of those Anomaly Commissions in NTE that trips people up — not because the boss fight is especially brutal, but because the entrance is hidden underground and easy to miss entirely. The red circle on the map points near the surface, but the actual door you need is inside a road tunnel. If you have been circling the area on foot and finding nothing, this guide will get you sorted fast.
You can play Neverness to Everness on PC via the official NTE website, on mobile through the Google Play Store, and on console via the PlayStation Store.
What Is the Brand Anniversary Anomaly Commission in NTE?
Brand Anniversary is an Object Anomaly in Neverness to Everness, resembling a discarded roll of film. It is located in the Unheard Shores region of New Hethereau — one of the smaller areas on the map. The commission sends you into an underground maintenance room to confront the anomaly boss Film – MANISH, a cinematic monster made of film strips and distorted effects that you first encountered during the story prologue.
This is the same enemy from Prologue II of the main story. The key difference this time is that the arena is smaller and more confined, which means dodging and positioning matter more than they did in the story encounter. The boss itself has a large HP pool, so it is more of an endurance fight than a difficult one mechanically.

How to Unlock Brand Anniversary in NTE
Before you can start the Brand Anniversary commission, you need to have the Unheard Shores area of the map unlocked. If you have not reached that region yet during story progression, you will not see the commission available. Unlock the area first through normal story and exploration progress, then find and track Brand Anniversary through the Anomaly Commission screen accessible from the bottom-right corner of your map.
If you are still unlocking map regions, see our guide on how to unlock all map areas in NTE.
Brand Anniversary Location — How to Find the Entrance in NTE

This is where most players get confused. The commission marker on the map points to an area near the Wertheimer Tower in Unheard Shores, but the actual entrance is not on the surface. It is inside a road tunnel beneath the Orichalcos Imaginist building. Here is exactly how to get there:
- Fast travel to the Wertheimer Tower teleport point in Unheard Shores. If you have not unlocked this teleport yet, see our guide on how to unlock teleport points in NTE.
- From the Wertheimer Tower, face the Orichalcos Imaginist building.
- Head south from the tower toward the building. Grab a vehicle here — the road is long enough that riding is faster than running. If you need a vehicle, check our guide on how to get a car in NTE.
- Take the road that goes west and runs directly under the Orichalcos Imaginist. This is the tunnel you want — not the Coastal Highway Z42 nearby.
- Inside the tunnel, look for a side door on the left wall. There is an Oracle Stone on the rail nearby, which is a useful landmark to spot the right location. The door is not labeled obviously — just keep your eye on the left side as you ride through.
- Go through the side door. Head down the stairs into the maintenance area below.
- Follow the path deeper into the room. Once the game displays a warning about a Wertheimer Index fluctuation zone, you are close. Keep going forward.
- Proceed to the back room — this is the movie-themed arena where Film – MANISH is waiting. Entering the room triggers the boss encounter immediately.
While you are in the tunnel area, keep an eye out for any nearby Oracle Stones you may not have collected yet. Our Oracle Stones collectibles guide covers every location across the map.
How to Beat Film – MANISH in Brand Anniversary
Film – MANISH is a large, lumbering boss made of film strips with sweeping melee arms. It has a high HP pool, so expect the fight to take some time. The move set is not especially complicated once you learn what each attack looks like, but the smaller arena in this commission means you have less room to back away safely than in the story version.
The fight is structured around two phases. Phase 2 begins when the boss drops to roughly half HP, at which point it gains two additional attacks on top of everything from Phase 1.

Film – MANISH Phase 1 Attacks
- Ground Slam: The boss jumps up, hovers for a moment, then slams its face into the ground. This attack can be parried. Watch for the jump and prepare your parry timing as it comes down.
- Homing Film Screens: Film – MANISH creates multiple screens around itself. A damage-dealing object shoots out from each screen simultaneously and homes in on your position. The counter is simple — move close to the boss’s body. The homing projectiles cannot track you when you are directly beside it.
- Film Reel Columns: The boss slams four film reel arms into the ground around itself, creating columns that deal damage on contact. There is always a red glint before this attack. Use it as your cue to back away from the immediate area around the boss.
- Spin Attack: Film – MANISH floats up, does a small wind-up, then spins at high speed. This is the most dangerous attack in the fight — the arena is too small to simply run away from it. The good news: it can be parried during the wind-up window. Hit the parry as it starts spinning and you interrupt the entire attack, leaving the boss open for a counterattack.
- Thrown Objects: The boss creates and throws inanimate objects (such as vending machines) at you, telegraphed by a red glint. This attack can be dodged, but you can also hit the projectiles to destroy them mid-air and negate the incoming damage entirely.
- Film Screen Arm Swing: The boss creates two film screens around itself, then swings its arms at you twice. Each swing triggers one of the film screens to throw objects at you as well. Dodge the arm swings and expect the secondary projectiles.
- Frontal Laser: Film – MANISH fires a laser attack from the front. The hit not only deals damage but applies a slow effect that leaves you exposed for follow-up attacks. Watch for the predictive line on the ground and dodge perpendicular to it — to the side, not backwards.

Film – MANISH Phase 2 Attacks (Below 50% HP)
When Film – MANISH reaches half health, it gains two additional attacks in addition to everything above:
- Film Reel Slow Field: The boss curls into a tight ball and suddenly expands, creating a line of film reels on the ground. Walking through these reels slows your character massively, then pillars of black liquid emerge from the reels to deal damage. Avoid the reel lines entirely — do not step on them.
- Triple Arm Slam: The boss suddenly slams three of its arms into the ground quickly, dealing damage in a short burst. This comes out fast with less warning than other attacks — stay ready to dodge when the boss extends multiple arms simultaneously.
Tips for Beating Film – MANISH in Brand Anniversary
- Parry the spin attack. This is the most important skill check in the fight. The spin cannot be avoided reliably by dodging in the smaller arena — it just hits you. Parrying it interrupts the move and opens up a free counterattack window. Practice the timing early in the fight so you have it down for Phase 2. Our guide on parrying and critical dodges in NTE covers the mechanics in detail.
- Stay at the boss’s sides, not in front. Most of Film – MANISH’s dangerous attacks — the laser, the arm swings, the homing screens — are front-facing. Positioning yourself to the side reduces how many of these you eat at once and gives you easier angles for landing hits.
- Destroy thrown projectiles. When the boss throws vending machines or other objects, hitting them mid-air destroys them completely. This is faster and safer than dodging, especially in Phase 2 when the arena gets more chaotic.
- Burst during Break windows. Film – MANISH has a Break Gauge. Every successful parry and critical dodge adds Break damage on top of HP damage. When the Break Gauge empties, the boss staggers and becomes significantly more vulnerable. This is your window to use your team’s strongest Ultimates. Save them for these moments rather than spending them on regular rotations. To understand Break mechanics better, read our guide on how to break enemies in NTE.
- Use characters with high Break damage. Characters like Daffodil are especially effective here — she is the best character in the game for triggering Break and can drain the gauge faster than almost anyone else. Our Daffodil build guide explains her kit in detail.
- Consider the Remora Esper Cycle. Film – MANISH likes to slow your characters. Using the Remora reaction can turn the boss’s own slow mechanic against it, which adds extra pressure. Our Esper Cycle reaction guide explains how to set up and trigger each reaction.
- Do not waste stamina. The fight is long. Burning all your stamina on unnecessary dodges or attacks leaves you unable to respond to Phase 2’s more unpredictable patterns. Stay patient, conserve stamina, and only commit to dodges and parries when you see the telegraphs.
Brand Anniversary Rewards in NTE
After defeating Film – MANISH and completing the Brand Anniversary Anomaly Commission, you will receive the following rewards:
- Annulith (30)
- Hunter Level EXP
- Fons
- Beetle Coins
- Carrotas
There are no Arc rewards from Film – MANISH in this commission. The rewards are valuable for early and mid-game progression — especially the Hunter EXP, which is why many players complete this commission as soon as the region becomes available. For more ways to increase your Hunter Level quickly, read our guide on how to increase Hunter Level fast in NTE.
How to Exit the Arena After the Fight
A common point of confusion after finishing the fight: many players get stuck trying to leave the room because the exit is not immediately obvious. There are several doors in the underground arena, and not all of them are the correct exit.
Look for the door with a red light above it. That is the exit. You must leave through this specific door for the commission to register as complete. If you go through the wrong door or the Anomaly Commission does not mark itself done after the fight, come back and use the red-lit exit.
High-Risk Commission — Replay Film – MANISH for More Rewards
Once you complete Brand Anniversary once, Film – MANISH becomes available as a repeatable High-Risk Commission. To access it, open the Anomaly Commissions screen from your map and switch to the High-Risk Commissions tab. From there, you can fight Film – MANISH again at varying difficulty levels.
You must reach Hunter Level 24 to unlock High-Risk Commissions. Higher difficulties scale the boss’s HP and damage output, but the attack patterns remain the same — the same parry and dodge timings work across all difficulty levels. Completing High-Risk runs earns you more Annulith and other resources, making it a worthwhile repeat activity once your team is strong enough.

Final Thoughts
Brand Anniversary is a short but satisfying Anomaly Commission once you find the entrance. The underground tunnel door trips up a lot of players — but once you are inside, the path to the arena is straightforward and the boss fight rewards patient, reactive play more than raw damage output.
Get your parry timing right on the spin attack, stay to the boss’s sides, burst during every Break window, and this one should not take you long. And once you clear it, revisit Film – MANISH through High-Risk Commissions whenever you want extra Annulith on top of your regular daily income.
