What Is the Addicted Shulak Cart Worker Cogni Pet?

Addicted Shulak Cart Worker is a Common Cogni pet in AION 2. It belongs to the Shulak creature family — a worker-class mob type found in Altgard — and gives the same HP and Critical Hit bonuses as other Cogni pets when leveled through Pet Insight. Despite its unusual name, it is a solid collection pet that contributes directly to your permanent stat pool and Cogni Genus Insight EXP.

The soul drop comes from a different monster variant — the Rampaging Shulak Cart Worker — which is the aggressive version that spawns in Altgard at Level 36. There is also a separate Soul: Addicted Shulak Cart Worker (Bound) item, meaning souls can drop as a standalone item in addition to the pet itself converting to a soul on duplicate drops.

Addicted Shulak Cart Worker Stats – Pet Insight Levels

All Cogni pets share the same Pet Insight progression. Here is the full breakdown for Addicted Shulak Cart Worker:

Pet Insight Level 1 – Mount

    • Owned Effect: HP +10
    • Unlocks: Mount ability
    • Genus Insight EXP: +500
    • Souls needed to reach Lv. 2: 25 souls

Pet Insight Level 2 – Mount Glide

    • Owned Effect: HP +20, Critical Hit +1
    • Unlocks: Mount Glide
    • Genus Insight EXP: +250
    • Souls needed to reach Lv. 3: 75 souls

Pet Insight Level 3 – Transform (Max Level)

    • Owned Effect: HP +30, Critical Hit +2, Might +1
    • Unlocks: Transform ability
    • Genus Insight EXP: +250
    • This is the highest Pet Insight level in the global version of AION 2.

You need 5 souls to unlock the pet, 25 more to reach Lv. 2, and 75 more to hit max level — 100 souls total after the initial unlock. The Transform ability at Lv. 3 lets you use Empathy Candy (Bound) to take the Addicted Shulak Cart Worker’s appearance. For more on Transform and pet progression, see our AION 2 list of all pets guide.

How to Get Addicted Shulak Cart Worker in AION 2

There are 13 confirmed sources for this pet. Here is the complete list:

    • Black Cloud Merchants – Special and Pets tabs (rotating stock)
    • Pet Chest: Cogni (Bound) – Random drop from Cogni pet chests
    • Growth Pet Chest (Bound) – Can drop from this chest
    • My Reliable Friends II Achievement – Guaranteed pet reward on completion
    • Nightmare Altar – Ascension Trial on Easy, Normal, Hard, and Extreme difficulty
    • Sanctum of Loathing – Ascension Trial on Easy, Normal, and Hard difficulty
    • Rampaging Shulak Cart Worker (Monster Drop) – Level 36 monster in Altgard (1 spawn area) — drops Soul item

Sanctum of Loathing only covers up to Hard for this pet — it is not in the Extreme loot table. Nightmare Altar covers all four difficulties, so that is your most complete dungeon farming source. For tips on running Ascension Trials efficiently, check our AION 2 best duty missions guide.

Where to Farm Addicted Shulak Cart Worker Souls

The open-world soul source is the Rampaging Shulak Cart Worker, a Level 36 Normal monster found in Altgard. It has 1 spawn area in the zone, so your farming loop is straightforward — find the spawn, clear it, repeat.

This monster is a mid-level mob in Altgard. You will want to be high enough level to kill it quickly to make the farming efficient. Since it drops the Soul: Addicted Shulak Cart Worker (Bound) item directly — not just a chance on the pet itself — each kill has a dedicated soul in the loot table. That is more reliable than pets which only drop souls through pet-item duplicates.

You can use the Source tab on the pet in-game to see the exact spawn location on the map. With one spawn area it is a small loop, so it is worth running back-to-back until you have the souls you need.

Once this pet is maxed in your collection, kills on the Rampaging Shulak Cart Worker will start dropping Cogni Soul Crystals instead. These feed directly into your Cogni Genus Insight progression, so the mob remains useful for your overall build even after you finish leveling the pet.

Altgard has several other Cogni pets you can farm in the same session. Check our Dratona Cogni pet guide and Biruta and Biruta Herbalist guide for other pets with Altgard spawns.

Why Addicted Shulak Cart Worker Is Worth Adding to Your Collection

Cogni pets give Critical Hit as a key owned effect at max level. Critical Hit benefits almost every offensive class in AION 2. Just having this pet in your collection adds a permanent bonus to your character — HP +30, Critical Hit +2, Might +1 — without needing to equip it as your active pet.

It also contributes Genus Insight EXP every time you unlock or level it. The Cogni Genus Insight system has 10 levels, each opening a new slot for bonus stats rolled with Cogni Soul Crystals. Every Cogni pet you max pushes that bar forward. Addicted Shulak Cart Worker is one of many pets in the Cogni family that adds to that long-term progression pool.

The Shulak creature family has a number of related pets in AION 2. Owning and leveling them all contributes to a complete Cogni collection, which is the goal for any player focused on maxing out their Genus Insight levels. For context on how this connects to your overall build, see our AION 2 endgame guide.

Tips to Get Addicted Shulak Cart Worker Fast

    • Farm the Rampaging Shulak Cart Worker in Altgard — Level 36, 1 spawn area, dedicated soul drop item. This is your fastest soul source once you are at the right level.
    • Run Nightmare Altar on all four difficulties daily — this pet drops across Easy, Normal, Hard, and Extreme. Each difficulty is a separate drop chance.
    • Run Sanctum of Loathing on Easy, Normal, and Hard — it does not drop on Extreme here, so focus on the three available difficulties.
    • Open every Pet Chest: Cogni (Bound) you get — this pet is in the Cogni chest loot table, and duplicates convert to souls automatically.
    • Check Black Cloud Merchants daily — it shows up on the rotating stock. Grabbing it there saves farming time.
    • Complete My Reliable Friends II Achievement — gives a guaranteed pet that can include this one, skipping the initial 5-soul unlock requirement.

Addicted Shulak Cart Worker in Your Cogni Collection

Addicted Shulak Cart Worker is a Level 1 pet — no level requirement to equip, available from the start of the game. Even if you are not using it as your active companion, it is earning you permanent stat contributions just by sitting in your collection at max level.

It sits alongside other Cogni pets in the Shulak creature line and the broader Altgard zone family. If you are farming Altgard for other Cogni pets at the same time, you can knock out soul farming for multiple pets in a single session.
