All Charm Locations in RE9 — Resident Evil Requiem Complete Guide

Find all charm locations in RE9 Resident Evil Requiem. Full guide covering every Grace and Leon charm, where to get them, their effects, and tips for using them effectively.

TL;DR

  • There are 9 charms in RE9 on Standard/Casual — plus extras for Deluxe Edition owners and post-game unlocks.
  • Grace’s charms activate just by sitting in her inventory — no equipping needed.
  • Leon’s charms must be attached to specific weapon types via the Supply Box weapon upgrade menu.
  • All charms are missable — some are locked behind killing specific enemies, solving puzzles, or opening BSAA Containers.
  • Two charms — Rugged Rookie and Trusted Companion — are post-game unlocks bought with CP from the Special Content store.
  • Once unlocked, charms carry over to New Game Plus. Grace’s charms appear in Storage; Leon’s can be re-equipped at Supply Boxes for free.

Charms in Resident Evil Requiem are small but impactful upgrades that give Grace and Leon passive stat boosts throughout the game. They are not obvious and most of them require you to go out of your way to find them. Miss one and it is gone for the rest of your run.

For Grace, all you need to do is have these items in your inventory to activate their effects. For Leon, these objects must be equipped on a particular type of weapon. That key difference changes how you manage them — Grace loses an inventory slot for every charm she carries, while Leon’s charms slot directly into his weapons without taking up case space.

This guide covers every charm in the game, where to find each one, and exactly what it does.

How Charms Work in RE9

Charms are powerful passive upgrades in Resident Evil Requiem that make surviving on higher difficulty settings much easier. Grace only has to carry her Charms in her inventory for them to take effect. That sounds simple, but there is a catch — every Charm takes up one of her already limited inventory slots.

Leon’s Charms must be slotted directly into his weapons. They function as specialized mods for specific weapon classes. You equip them through the weapon upgrade menu at any Supply Box. Each weapon can hold one charm at a time.

Any charm that you loot or unlock will be permanently yours across multiple playthroughs. You can acquire or equip these accessories again via item boxes for Grace and supply boxes for Leon.

Grace’s Charms

1. Stakeout Takeout Charm — Care Center Pantry

Effect: Increases knife power and durability by having it in your inventory.

How to get it: The Stakeout Takeout Charm requires you to have killed the Cook, who patrols around the Kitchen in the West Wing of the Care Center. If you are playing as Grace, you can one- or two-shot the Cook with the Requiem Revolver. Otherwise, your best bet is to wait until you are playing as Leon. With the Cook killed, use the Pantry Key in the Pantry, where you can find the Stakeout Takeout Charm on the northeast wall, sitting on a shelf.

The quickest method is to sneak up behind the Cook and use a Hemolytic Injector to kill him instantly without spending ammo. Need help getting into the Pantry first? See our guide on how to open the Pantry in RE9.

2. Eye Spy Charm — East Wing, Care Center

Effect: Increases the likelihood that you will survive fatal damage.

Eye Spy Charm
Eye Spy Charm

How to get it: The large monster that roams the halls of the East Wing after you get the ID Wristband (Level 1) is called a Chunk. If you defeat the East Wing Chunk as Grace, you will get the Eye Spy Charm as a reward.

To take down Chunk, lure the monster into a doorway — ideally near the Waiting Room — where its movement is restricted. Use the Requiem Revolver. Two precise headshots should be enough to bring it down. Make sure to pick up the Charm from the corpse before leaving the East Wing, or it will be gone for the rest of that playthrough.

This is one of the most valuable charms in the game, especially on Insanity difficulty. It acts as a one-time safety net against instant death. Do not skip it.

3. Rugged Rookie Charm — Special Content Store (Post-Game)

Effect: Increases the firepower of all of Grace’s weapons while it is in her inventory, making repeat runs much easier.

How to get it: You can only unlock this charm by clearing the game once and buying it from the Special Content shop for 6,500 CP. It is a plastic model of RE2 Leon. After purchase, collect it from Grace’s item box at the start of your next run.

If you are still farming CP, check out our guide on how to unlock Infinite Ammo in RE9, which also covers the fastest CP farming methods.

4. Mr. Raccoon Charm — Deluxe Edition Exclusive

Effect: Steadies Grace’s aiming reticle and helps you focus more quickly. It also boosts your chance of landing critical hits. For Insanity runs without infinite ammo, this charm is close to essential.

How to get it: The Mr. Raccoon Charm is a bonus item you only get by purchasing either the Deluxe Edition or the Deluxe Kit upgrade DLC. It is not available to Standard Edition players unless they purchase the upgrade separately.

Leon’s Charms

5. Connoisseur Charm — Care Center Pantry Warped Closet

Effect: Can be attached to any gun and increases the weapon’s firepower. This is Leon’s most versatile charm — the only one that works on every weapon type.

How to get it: Once you start playing as Leon in the Care Center, navigate to the East Wing and enter the Pantry. Inside the Pantry, you will find a Warped Closet. Only Leon’s Combat Axe can open the Warped Closet, and inside, you will find the Connoisseur Charm.

This is in the same Pantry as the Stakeout Takeout Charm, but locked behind a warped closet that only Leon can open. See our guide on how to break open warped closets in RE9 if you need help.

6. BSAA Emblem Charm — BSAA Container 04, East Raccoon City

Effect: Attached to sniper rifles. Increases firepower, but only when the scope is not equipped.

BSAA Emblem Charm

How to get it: While in East Raccoon City, once you collect the BSAA Container Key, head north to the Gas Station to find and fill a Gas Container with Fuel. Just north of the Central Camp is a Gas Generator, which allows you to find a ladder that leads into a sewer. Take the ladder down, and it will lead you back to Ridgewood Station if you follow the left tunnel. Navigate through the train station until you reach the surface. On the surface, you can find BSAA Container 04, which contains the BSAA Emblem Charm.

For help finding all BSAA Containers, see our guides on all BSAA Container locations and rewards and the BSAA Container Key location. Also see our guide on how to get Generator Fuel to power the generator needed to access this area.

7. S.T.A.R.S. Emblem Charm — RPD West Office, JoJo’s Locker

Effect: Can be attached to automatic guns. Increases their firepower at the cost of more weapon sway while aiming.

S.T.A.R.S. Emblem Charm
S.T.A.R.S. Emblem Charm

How to get it: Venture inside the Operations Room on the east side of the RPD Main Hall. You will find a hanging TV in the Operations Room. Climb up the box near the wall, face the hanging TV, and collect the Locker Key. Now place the Locker Key into JoJo’s Locker inside the West Office to get the S.T.A.R.S. Emblem Charm.

This is tied to the RPD scavenger hunt. For the full puzzle solution and locker locations, see our RPD Scavenger Hunt puzzle solution guide.

8. Power Shades Charm — RPD S.T.A.R.S. Office Briefcase

Effect: Gives the Requiem Revolver limitless bullet penetration, and the last bullet in the cylinder deals massively increased damage.

Power Shades Charm
Power Shades Charm

How to get it: After entering the RPD, head left from the main entrance into the west wing and find the S.T.A.R.S. Office. Tucked away in a locker is a Briefcase. There is no secret file that reveals the code, but you can unlock it by changing the combination to: R-R-R. Once the Briefcase is opened, you will acquire the Power Shades Charm.

The best strategy with this charm: always reload just one bullet at a time. That way, every shot benefits from the last-bullet bonus. It requires more frequent reloading but makes every shot devastating. This is one of the strongest charms in the game for Leon if you use the Requiem frequently.

9. Cute Bear Charm — Underground Parking Garage, Exit of RPD

Effect: For shotguns only. Makes them less effective at true close-range, but enhances the power of mid-range shots.

Cute Bear Charm

How to get it: Having finished the RPD section of the game, exit out of the rubble at its rear and back onto the street. Turn left and go down the ramp into the Parking Garage. In a corner, to the right of the shipping container, is the Cute Bear Charm.

Be warned — there are zombies in this dark location. The charm is on the ground near some rubble beside the central shipping container. Look carefully as it can blend into the environment.

10. Trusted Companion Charm — Special Content Store (Post-Game, Leon)

Effect: Increases bullet penetration for handguns.

How to get it: The Trusted Companion Charm is unlocked via Challenges. You need to have defeated a total of 300 enemies. Since Grace’s gameplay is designed to avoid fighting, you are only going to reach these numbers while playing as Leon during the Raccoon City chapter. After you have gotten 300 eliminations, head to the Supply Box found at any of Leon’s save areas and inspect your weapons to equip the charm.

11. RPD Charm — Letters from 1998 (Deluxe Edition / DLC)

Effect: Greatly increases your damage when you have low health. A high-risk, high-reward charm that rewards aggressive play near death.

How to get it: You will have to read all 5 Letters from 1998 in order. Two are in Raccoon City and the rest are near the RPD. This charm is exclusive to the Deluxe Edition or Deluxe Kit DLC. Standard Edition players cannot access it.

Tips for Using Charms Effectively

  • Grace should prioritize Eye Spy above all other charms. A free survival from fatal damage can save an entire run, especially on Standard and Insanity. Always carry it.
  • The Stakeout Takeout Charm is worth grabbing early. Stronger knives mean fewer durability worries throughout the Care Center, where knives are your safest quiet tool.
  • Leon’s Power Shades Charm works best with a one-bullet reload strategy. Reload one round at a time so the last-bullet bonus applies to every shot. It takes discipline but the damage spike is significant.
  • The BSAA Emblem Charm turns the Marksman 1A into a deadly mid-range weapon. Fire from the hip, skip the scope, and drop enemies with headshots at medium range before they close in.
  • The Connoisseur Charm is Leon’s most flexible charm since it works on every weapon type. If you are unsure what to equip, this one fits any build.
  • On Insanity, carry the Mr. Raccoon Charm as Grace if you own the Deluxe Edition. The precision and critical hit boost helps stretch limited ammo much further.
