How to Get the Artisan’s Ornamented Shield in Crimson Desert
TL;DR
- The Artisan’s Ornamented Shield is a Damiane-exclusive shield in Delesyia
- It’s hidden on a rock island in the ocean south of the Cliff of Despair
- Use Jump + Triple Force Palm to glide across the water and reach the island
- The shield is inside a wooden crate at the back of the rock formation
- A free White Wood Bow is also in the crate — a two-for-one loot stop
- Stats are identical to Damiane’s default Demenissian Gold-Decorated Shield, but it looks different
If you’re spending serious time with Damiane in Crimson Desert, you’re probably looking for gear that fits her playstyle and looks the part. The Artisan’s Ornamented Shield is a Damiane-exclusive find hidden off the coast of Delesyia. Getting to it requires a leap of faith across the ocean using Force Palm — but there’s no combat involved. Just some navigation know-how and you’ll have it in minutes.
Here’s everything you need to know.
Artisan’s Ornamented Shield Stats
The Artisan’s Ornamented Shield is a Tier 4 shield with the following fully refined stats:
- Defense: 3 → 15
- Guard Rate: 5 → 30
- Movement Speed: Level 2
The Movement Speed passive is the key stat here. It keeps Damiane mobile while she’s holding the shield up, which suits her faster, more agile combat style well. The defense and guard rate scale nicely with refinement — investing in it at a Blacksmith makes it a solid shield through mid-game and into the later chapters.
One important note: this shield has the same base stats as the Demenissian Gold-Decorated Shield that Damiane starts with. So if you’re hunting this for a raw power upgrade, it won’t change your numbers. The appeal is the look — the Artisan’s Ornamented Shield has a more handcrafted aesthetic that many players prefer — plus the bonus White Wood Bow in the same crate makes the trip worthwhile regardless. For shields that are genuinely stronger, check our Ancient Shield guide or the best unique weapons and armor guide.
Where Is the Artisan’s Ornamented Shield?

The shield is found on a small rock island in the Great Ocean of Pywel, directly south of the Cliff of Despair in the south region of Delesyia. Delesyia is the final region of Pywel — the most technologically advanced area in the game, full of orc camps and flying machines.
The rock island is not reachable by swimming. You have to use Force Palm to launch yourself off the cliff edge and glide across the water to land on it.

How to Reach the Rock Island Step by Step
Step 1 — Get to Delesyia. You’ll reach this region through story progression. If you’re already there, fast travel to the nearest Abyss Nexus in the south part of the region. Check our fast travel guide if you need help setting up Nexus points.
Step 2 — Head to the Cliff of Despair. On your world map, find the text “DELESYIA” and look at the first “E.” Venture to the furthest south point of that letter on the map. The Cliff of Despair is the southern coastal cliff edge in this part of the region.
Step 3 — Face south from the cliff edge. When you look out over the ocean from the cliff, you’ll see a rock formation rising out of the water below. That’s your target island.

Step 4 — Use Jump + Triple Force Palm to glide across. This is the key move. Jump from the cliff edge and use Force Palm three times in the air — this keeps you airborne and carries you forward across the water. After the triple Force Palm, glide toward the island. You need decent momentum and the right angle, so aim directly at the rock formation when you jump. If you miss the first time, head back up the cliff and try again. The distance is manageable once you have your angle right.
Step 5 — Circle to the back of the rock structure. Once you land on the island, don’t look for the loot at the front. Head around to the back of the rock formation. There you’ll find a wooden crate sitting against the structure.
Step 6 — Open the crate. Interact with the crate to collect both the Artisan’s Ornamented Shield and a White Wood Bow. No Mask required — this is standard loot, not stolen goods.

Is the Artisan’s Ornamented Shield Worth Getting?
It depends on what you’re after. From a pure numbers standpoint, it matches Damiane’s starter shield exactly, so it’s not an upgrade if you’ve been refining the Demenissian Gold-Decorated Shield since you got her. But there are two reasons to make the trip.
First, the White Wood Bow in the same crate is a free bonus. If you’re building Damiane around ranged attacks, an extra bow is always useful — especially at no cost.
Second, if you care about how Damiane looks during your playthrough — and her gear selection is more limited than Kliff’s in the early and mid-game — having an additional shield option to mix and match your appearance with armor sets is genuinely useful. You can hide her helmet to show off her look more clearly too, which our how to remove or hide helmets guide walks through.
For Damiane’s combat setup, the Movement Speed Level 2 passive on this shield is actually a nice fit. It keeps her from slowing down too much during defensive moments, which matters when her playstyle leans into fast combos and repositioning. Pair it with the right accessories and a solid rapier build and you’ll notice the difference in extended fights. The Mark of Darkness Ring pairs well here too, since its stamina regen keeps Damiane’s guard from draining dry during defensive sequences.
