TL;DR
- Wolfe is one of 12 outlaw bounties in the Pailune region, unlocked after Chapter 7.
- He disguises himself as a giant boar and hides among real boars in Silver Wolf Mountain.
- No combat needed — just chase, tackle, tie him up, and ride him to the Pailune jail.
- Delivering him alive earns you 12 Silver and Greymane Contribution Points.
- Fast travel is disabled while carrying a prisoner, so you must ride horseback (~1,300m).
Bounty hunting is one of the most satisfying side activities in Crimson Desert. Most outlaws hide in taverns, ruins, or camped out on roadsides. But Wolfe does something different. He dresses up as a boar and blends in with real boars in the wilderness. It sounds ridiculous — and it is — but it also makes him surprisingly easy to miss if you don’t know what to look for. Here’s exactly how to track him down and bring him in.
How to Unlock the Wolfe Outlaw Bounty
You can’t hunt any Pailune bounties until you’ve made enough progress in the main story. You need to complete Chapter 7 and fully liberate the Pailune region from the Lonely Jackals and Black Bears. This reunites the Greymanes and opens up the city of Pailune for side content.
Once that’s done, outlaw bounty notices begin appearing on wooden poles and notice boards around Pailune. Wolfe is one of the 12 total bounties available in this region, and he becomes fully accessible during Chapter 8. Completing Chapter 7 also unlocks Oongka as a playable character, so you can run this bounty as either him or Kliff — both work perfectly fine.

Where to Find the Wolfe Bounty Notice
Head into Pailune city and keep an eye on your mini-map for purple scroll icons. These mark bounty notices posted on wooden poles and boards throughout the city and nearby roads. Sometimes several notices are clustered right next to each other, so take your time scanning the area.
When you find the Wolfe notice, walk up and examine it. You must read it to add the quest to your journal. This also activates the map marker showing Wolfe’s general location. Don’t skip this step — without reading it, the quest won’t track and you’ll have no marker to follow.

Wolfe’s Location — Silver Wolf Mountain
Once the quest is active, open your map and follow the marker. Wolfe hides in the forests of Silver Wolf Mountain, located northwest of Pailune city. A couple of Abyss Nexus fast travel points sit nearby, so you can get relatively close without a long ride.
Here’s the twist — Wolfe wears a full boar disguise, complete with a cloak and a giant boar’s head. He hides right among the real wild boars roaming the same forest area. If you’re scanning visually, you can walk right past him.
The best trick is to stop looking with your eyes and start watching your mini-map. An outlaw icon will appear once you’re within range of Wolfe. That icon is the clearest giveaway that separates him from the real animals around him.

How to Capture Wolfe
Wolfe doesn’t fight. He runs. The moment you get too close, he’ll bolt. Here’s how to catch him cleanly:

- Get close before he spots you — Don’t sprint from a long distance. Close the gap casually first, then make your move.
- Track him on the mini-map if he flees — His icon stays visible even when he disappears into the treeline, so don’t panic if you lose visual.
- Sprint and tackle him — Press X on Xbox or A on PlayStation to tackle. This knocks him to the ground.
- Strike him a few times — After the tackle, hit him until a restrain prompt appears on screen.
- Tie him up — Use the prompt to bind him. He’s now your prisoner and ready for delivery.

There’s no real combat here. You don’t need a strong build, high gear score, or any specific skill. It’s purely a chase. That said, if you want to get the most out of your movement and abilities while hunting bounties, our Advanced Combat Guide and Focused Aerial Roll guide are worth reading.
How to Deliver Wolfe to the Pailune Jail
With Wolfe tied up, your next task is getting him to the Pailune jail in one piece. Before you start the trip, know these important rules:
No Fast Travel While Carrying a Prisoner
As soon as you’re holding a bound bounty target, all fast travel is locked. No Abyss Nexus, no teleporting. Wolfe has to make the trip the old-fashioned way — on the back of your horse.
Load Wolfe onto Your Horse
Carry Wolfe and walk up to your horse. A prompt will appear to place him on your mount. Once he’s secured, ride toward Pailune city. For tips on managing your mount effectively, see our Crimson Desert Horse Guide.
The Ride to Jail
The journey from Silver Wolf Mountain to the Pailune jail is roughly 1,300 meters. It’s not short, but the route between the mountain and the city is fairly open. Stick to the main path and you’ll avoid most enemy encounters. A few things to watch out for on the way:
- If your horse takes heavy hits or bucks, both you and Wolfe can fall off. Steer clear of dense enemy packs.
- If part of the path is impassable on horseback, dismount, carry Wolfe through on foot, then summon your horse again once the path opens up.
- Don’t commit any crimes during the trip. Triggering the Wanted system while carrying a prisoner means you’ll have to deal with guards or pay fines before you can complete the delivery — a total waste of a run.
Hand Wolfe Over to the Guards
The Pailune jail is inside the city. Check your map for its exact location. Walk up to the guards and hand Wolfe over to complete the bounty and collect your reward.
Wolfe Bounty Rewards
Turning Wolfe in alive gives you the following:
- 12 Silver — the full reward for a live delivery
- Greymane Contribution Points — faction currency you can spend at the contribution shop right next to the jail
The shop next to the jail sells outfit pieces and useful items. It’s worth stopping by while you’re there. Keep in mind — if Wolfe dies at any point during the chase or transport, you’ll only get half the silver. Always deliver bounty targets alive for the full payout.

Tips to Make the Wolfe Bounty Easier
- Try Oongka for the tackle — Some players find his tackle slightly easier to land when a target is zigzagging through trees.
- If Wolfe isn’t at his spawn point, check the surrounding area on your mini-map. If you passed through Silver Wolf Mountain earlier without starting the quest, he may have wandered. He should still be nearby.
- Double up your bounties — Once Wolfe is tied up, you can still catch a second Pailune outlaw before heading to jail. Carry one prisoner and load the other onto your horse. Two bounties, one trip.
- Use nearby Abyss Nexus points to get to Silver Wolf Mountain quickly before you start. Once you have Wolfe in hand, fast travel shuts off, so plan your route to jail beforehand.
